Hierarchical porous carbon heterojunction flake arrays derived from metal organic frameworks and ionic liquid for H2O2 electrochemical detection in cancer tissue

The development of hierarchical nanostructure is demonstrated as an effective strategy to improve catalytic activity and stability of ***,a novel leaf-like hierarchically porous heterojunction flake arrays(FAs),integrated graphitic N-doped carbon(NC)with amorphous B,N-doped carbon(BNC),has been designed and grown on flexible carbon fiber(CF)using metal-organic framework(MOF)FAs and green ionic liquids as *** hierarchical heterojunction structure possesses micro-and nano-scaled pores,large surface areas,and exposed high-density catalytic active sites,which enhances electronic conductivity and offers accessible transport channels for effectively decreasing mass transport *** results of discrete Fourier transform(DFT)calculations and experiments also suggest that the catalytic activity has been promoted by the heterojunction structure through narrowing the banding ***,the resultant nanohybrid microelectrode exhibits remarkable electrochemical sensing performance towards H2O2 with a low detection limit of 50 nM,and a high sensitivity of 213μA×mM-1×cm-2,as well as good anti-interference *** practical application of nanohybrid fiber microelectrode has been explored by real-time monitoring H2O2 released from live colon cells and surgically-resected fresh colon cancer tissue,which can provide important information for the identification of different types of cells as well as distinguish cancer cells from normal *** believe this research will pave the way towards the development of advanced carbon nanomaterials for application in the fields of electrochemistry,biosensing,and cancer diagnosis.

Owing to different influence factors of foundation soil,the initial stress state of the soil under various working conditions is *** simulate this situation,in this paper,a series of tests on undisturbed soft clay under pure principal stress axis rotation were carried out by using the hollow cylinder apparatus(HCA).The influence of initial consolidation angle ζ(the angle between the vertical direction and direction of the applied load in consolidation)and intermediate principal stress coefficient b on pore water pressure accumulation of undisturbed soft clay were mainly *** test results show that,during pure principal stress axis rotation,the pore water pressure accumulation of the undisturbed soft clay fluctuates and increases with the rotation of the major principal stress;the values of major principal stress anglesα,corresponding to the peak value of the pore water pressure in a certain cycle,are different with different initial consolidation angles;the pore water pressure accumulation of soft clay is greatly affected by the intermediate principal stress coefficient *** the fixed initial consolidation angle ζ,the variation trend of the maximum pore water pressure for each cycle is appropriately the same with different b *** the increase of cycles,the difference value of pore water pressure between b=0 and b=1 in each cycle increases gradually with different initial consolidation angles ζ.While with different initial consolidation anglesζ,the increase of the pore water pressure when b increases from 0 to 0.5 is different with that when b increases from 0.5 to 1;the variation of maximum pore water pressure withζis significantly affected by the value of b;the value of maximum pore water pressure increases with the cycle number increases under all test conditions,but the growth rate decreases *** the variation of maximum pore water pressure with the cycle number N is obviously influenced by both ζ and b.

Hybrid Simulation of the Initiation and Runout Characteristics of a Catastrophic Debris Flow

On 13 August 2010, a catastrophic debris flow with a volume of 1.17 million m3 occurred in Xiaojiagou Ravine near Yingxiu town of Wenchuan county in Sichuan Province, China. The main source material was the landslide deposits retained in the ravine during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. This paper describes a two-dimensional hybrid numerical method that simulates the entire process of the debris flow from initiation to transportation and finally to deposition. The study area is discretized into a grid of square zones. A two dimensional finite difference method is then applied to simulate the rainfall-runoff and debris flow runout processes. The analysis is divided into three steps; namely, rainfall-runoff simulation, mixing water and solid materials, and debris flow runout simulation. The rainfall-runoff simulation is firstly conducted to obtain the cumulative runoff near the location of main source material and at the outlet of the first branch. The water and solid materials are then mixed to create an inflow hydrograph for the debris flow runout simulation. The occurrence time and volume of the debris flow can be estimated in this step. Finally the runout process of the debris flow is simulated. When the yield stress is high, it controls the deposition zone. When the yield stress is medium or low, both yield stress and viscosity influence the deposition zone. The flow velocity is largely influenced by the viscosity. The estimated yield stress by the equation, ty = pghsinO, and the estimated viscosity by the equation established by Bisantino et al. （2010） provide good estimates of the area of the debris flow fan and the distribution of deposition depth.

A review on bath fluid flow stirring technologies in EAF steelmaking

In the contemporary electric arc furnace(EAF)steelmaking industry,increasing contents and temperature homogenization via fluid flow stirring is found to be an effective method of improving production quality and smelting *** is a trend for different factories with bowl-shaped furnaces to apply the bath fluidity enhancement *** has plenty of advantages in modern steelmaking industry,and the improvements on the EAF steelmaking process have come up with two major tasks,namely reduction in energy consumption and tap-to-tap *** latter task requires an essential understanding of every phase in EAF steelmaking *** flat bath phase with poor bath fluid flow was crucial to the product quality and metallurgical efficiency considering EAF’s bowl-shaped *** research of three stirring bath methods,oxygen jets injection,electromagnetic stirring,and bottom blowing,were introduced,and then the detailed parameters of each method with their influences on molten bath fluidity were presented.

Probing electroweak dark matter at 14 TeV LHC

Well-motivated electroweak dark matter is often hosted by an extended electroweak sector that also contains new lepton pairs with masses near the weak *** this study,we explore such electroweak dark matter by combining dark matter direct detection experiments and high-luminosity LHC probes of new lepton *** Z- and W-associated electroweak processes with two or three lepton final states,we show that depending on the overall coupling constant,dark matter masses of up to 170−210 GeV can be excluded at the 2σ level and those up to 175−205 GeV can be discovered at the 5σ level at the 14 TeV LHC with integrated luminosities of 300 fb^−1 and 3000 fb^−1,respectively.

Investigation ofβ—‑decay half‑life and delayed neutron emission with uncertainty analysis

β-decay half-life and β-delayed neutron emission(βn) are of great importance in the development of basic science and industrial applications, such as nuclear physics and nuclear energy, where β--decay plays an important role. Many theoretical models have been proposed to describe β-decay half-lives, whereas the systematic study of βn is still rare. This study aimed to investigate β--decay half-lives and βn probabilities through analytical formulas and by comparing them with experimental data. Analytical formulas for β--decay properties have been proposed by considering prominent factors, that is, decay energy,odevity, and the shell effect. The bootstrap method was used to simultaneously evaluate the total uncertainty on calculations,which was composed of statistic and systematic uncertainties. β--decay half-lives, βn probabilities, and the corresponding uncertainties were evaluated for the neutron-rich region. The experimental half-lives were well reproduced. Additional predictions are also presented with theoretical uncertainties, which helps to better understand the disparity between the experimental and theoretical results.

Microstructure, thermal stability and corrosion behavior of ultrasonic shot peened AA7034

Microstructure, thermal stability at room temperature and corrosion behavior of ultrasonic shot peened AA7034were investigated in this work. Microstructure modification induced by ultrasonic shot peening was obtained by using OM, SEM, EBSD and XRD, and it was found that a ～200 μm thick gradient surface layer with nanoscale grains on the topmost layer was induced on the peened sample. XRD peaks of the pre-existing aginginduced precipitates, i.e., η′ and η phases, disappeared after peening and did not show up during 52 monthslong natural aging treatment, showing good thermal stability at room temperature. After peening, a significant improvement in intergranular corrosion resistance is evident. Electrochemical characterizations like open circuit potential and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were conducted on various depths of the peened sample and the results indicated that uniform corrosion rate was largely accelerated by the presence of foreign Ferich contamination, implying that modifications should be made to reduce/avoid the foreign ***, mechanisms of corrosion improvement and good thermal stability of the nanocrystalline surface layer of AA7304 are also discussed.

Effect of Pre-Deformation Enhanced Thermal Aging on Precipitation and Microhardness of a Reactor Pressure Vessel Steel

Microstructure evolution in neutron irradiated Reactor Pressure Vessel （RPV） steels was experimentally simulated through an improved degradation procedure in this study. The degradation procedure includes austenitizing at 1 150℃ and water quench, deformation 10% and 30% respectively, and then thermal aging at 500℃ for different period of time. The microstructure of the specimens was analyzed in details using transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The micro-hardness test results showed that all the hardness curves of undeformed, 10% pre-deformed and 30% pre-deformed specimens have two micro-hardness peaks with the first peak value corresponding to different thermal aging time of 1 hour, 5 hours and 10 hours, respectively. It was revealed that the hardness curves were influenced by the precipitation of Cu-rich precipitates （CRPs） and carbides, deposition of martensite and work hardening.

Ultra-stable carbon-coated sodium vanadium phosphate as cathode material for sodium-ion battery

Based on the excellent sodium ion mobility of sodium superionic conductor structures,Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)materials have become promising cathode materials in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).However,inadequate electronic transport of Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)limits the cycling stability and rate performances in *** this work,high-performance conductive carbon-coated Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)materials are obtained via a simple and facile ball-milling assisted solid-state method by utilizing citric acid as carbon *** carbon-coated composite electrodes display a high initial specific capacity of 111.6 mAh·g^(-1),and the specific capacity could retention reach 92.83%after 100 cycles at 1C with the high coulombic efficiency(99.95%).More importantly,the capacity of conductive carbon-coated nano-sized Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)can remain 48.5 mAh·g^(-1) at 10℃after 3000 cycles(initial capacity of 101.2 mAh·g^(-1)).At the same time,high coulombic efficiency(near 100%)has little decay even at a high rate of 20℃during 1000 cycles,demonstrating the excellent cycling stability and remarkable rate performances,and showing potential in largescale productions and applications.
