The Impact of Tidal Migration of Hot Jupiters on the Rotation of Sun-like Main-sequence Stars

The tidal interactions of planets affect the stellar evolutionary status and the constraint of their physical parameters by gyrochronology.In this work,we incorporate the tidal interaction and magnetic braking of the stellar wind into MESA and calculate a large grid of 25,000 models,covering planets with masses of 0.1–13.0MJ with different orbital distances that orbit late-type stars of different metallicities.We also explore the effect of different stellar initial rotations on the tidal interactions.Our results show that in the case of tidal inward migration,the stellar rotation periods are always lower than that of the star without planet before the planet is engulfed and the difference in the rotation period of its host star always increases with time.After the planet is engulfed,the stellar rotation periods are still lower than that of star without planet,but the difference of periods can be quickly eliminated if the star has a thick convective envelope(smaller mass and larger metallicity),regardless of the mass of the planet and the initial rotation period of the star.In the case of stars with thinner convective envelopes(larger mass and smaller metallicity),the stars will be spun up and remain the faster rotation in a long time.Meanwhile,the planet is easily swallowed and the period differences are large if the initial rotation period of its host star is higher.Finally,we also study the evolution of WASP-19 and estimate the range of tidal quality parameter Q_(*)^(')=(4.6±0.9)×10^(6)and the initial semimajor axis as(0.035±0.004)au.

Unraveling the drug distribution in brain enabled by MALDI MS imaging with laser-assisted chemical transfer

Accurate localization of central nervous system(CNS)drug distribution in the brain is quite challenging to matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization(MALDI)mass spectrometry imaging(MSI),owing to the ionization competition/suppression of highly abundant endogenous biomolecules and MALDI matrix.Herein,we developed a highly efficient sample preparation technique,laser-assisted chemical transfer(LACT),to enhance the detection sensitivity of CNS drugs in brain tissues.A focused diode laser source transilluminated the tissue slide coated with α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid,an optimal matrix to highly absorb the laser radiation at 405 nm,and a very thin-layer chemical film mainly containing drug molecule was transferred to the acceptor glass slide.Subsequently,MALDI MSI was performed on the chemical film without additional sample treatment.One major advantage of LACT is to minimize ionization competition/suppression from the tissue itself by removing abundant endogenous lipid and protein components.The superior performance of LACT led to the successful visualization of regional distribution patterns of 16 CNS drugs in the mouse brain.Furthermore,the dynamic spatial changes of risperidone and its metabolite were visualized over a 24-h period.Also,the brain-to-plasma(B/P)ratio could be obtained according to MALDI MSI results,providing an alternative means to assess brain penetration in drug discovery.

A short review of antibacterial Cu-bearing stainless steel:antibacterial mechanisms,corrosion resistance,and novel preparation techniques

Cu-bearing stainless steel is widely used in the fields of food,medical and household sanitary equipment because of its surface finish and corrosion resistance.However,the growth of bacteria on stainless steel leads to the formation of biofilms,which causes corrosion.Therefore,the antibacterial property of stainless steel is a worthy research topic.Reviews of breakthroughs in the field of corrosion resistance and antimicrobial properties are still lacking.Herein,due to the scarcity of publications on the antibacterial mechanisms and processing methods of antibacterial Cu-bearing stainless steel,we review the current state of relevant research and progress.The toxicity of Cu,corrosion resistance mechanism of stainless steel,and antibacterial mechanism and preparation method of antibacterial stainless steel are reported.In addition,alloying,surface modification and other methods are found to have limitations in balancing the toxicity and antibacterial properties of copper and the relationship between the antibacterial properties and corrosion resistance of Cu-bearing stainless steel.A new preparation method of antibacterial stainless steel associated with selective laser melting(SLM)is proposed.SLM is becoming a powerful additive manufacturing technology that can be used to manufacture customized and complex metals.The research status of SLM applied in antibacterial stainless steel preparation is described.Finally,the future research direction of Cu-bearing antibacterial stainless steel is discussed.

Effect of Blending Ratio on the Sodium Release Behaviors,Ash Slagging Characteristics and Char Gasification Performances during Co-gasification of Zhundong Coal with Wuhai Coal

Some ash related problems,such as slagging at furnace bottom and fouling at the air pre-heater surface,are frequently encountered during circulating fluidized bed gasification(CFBG)of Zhundong coal.Low ash fusion temperatures(AFTs)and intense sodium release should be responsible for those problems.In industry,coal blending is deemed to be a feasible method to both improve AFTs and control sodium release.In this work,Wuhai coal was selected as blending coal.The ratio is varied from 0%to 40%by mass with 10%interval.The mixed samples were gasified by steam at 950°C in a lab-scale furnace.Some key indices,such as sodium release behaviors,ash slagging characteristics and char gasification performances,were investigated by ICP-OES,AFTs,XRD and TG analyzers,respectively.The results indicated that coal blending could significantly decrease sodium release behaviors.For ash slagging characteristics,it is surprised to find that three out of four AFTs(deformation temperature,softening temperature,hemispherical temperature)show an U-shaped correlation with blending ratio,indicating that a low ratio possibly causes more severe ash slagging problem.It is ascribed to the formation of substantial percentage of fusible Na-containing silicates and aluminosilicates.In addition,coal blending greatly increases ST-DT,implying that the ability of resistance to bed temperature fluctuation is markedly enhanced.Due to the high level of alkali and alkaline species,the synergistic effect is clearly observed during co-gasification.Taking all key indices into consideration,30%blending ratio of Wuhai coal is recommended.

Multiple Automatic Guided Vehicle(multi-AGVs)management systems provide an effective solution to ensuring stable operations of multi-AGVs in the same scenario,such as flexible manufacturing systems,warehouses,container terminals,etc.This type of systems need to balance the relationship among the resources of the system and solve the problems existing in the operation to make the system in line with the requirement of the administrator.The multi-AGVs management problem is a multi-objective,multi-constraint combinatorial optimization problem,which depends on the types of application scenarios.This article classifies and compares the research papers on multi-AGVs management in detail.Firstly,according to the different dimensions of the problem,the multi-AGVs management system is analyzed from three perspectives,namely,1)task dimensiondispatch,2)spatial dimension-path,and 3)time dimension-scheduling.The detailed comparison between the three dimensions and their respective solutions are discussed in detail as well.Secondly,according to their utility,the multi-AGVs management problems are divided into three categories:1)cost reduction,resource-oriented,2)efficiency improvement,problem-oriented,3)personalized demand,goal-oriented.The algorithm and methods of the different utility-oriented are analyzed and discussed.The related literature is summarized and corresponds to the composition of the multi-AGVs management system and the multi-AGVs management problems.Finally,according to the literature review,suggestions are made for further research.

With good mobility and flexibility,mobile manipulators have shown broad applications in construction scenarios.Base position(BP)planning,which refers to the robot autonomously determining its working station in the environment,is an important technique for mobile manipulators when performing the construction assembly task,especially in a large-scale construction environment.However,the BP planning process is tedious and time-consuming for a human worker to carry out.Thus,to improve the efficiency of construction assembly tasks,a novel BP planning method is proposed in this paper,which can lead to appropriate BPs and minimize the number of BPs at the same time.Firstly,the feasible BP regions are generated based on the grid division and the variable workspace of the mobile manipulator.Then,the positioning uncertainties of the mobile manipulator are considered in calculating the preferred BP areas using clustering.Lastly,a set coverage optimization model is established to obtain the minimum number of BPs using an optimization algorithm according to the greedy principle.The simulated experiment based on a 9-degree of free(DoF)mobile manipulator has been performed.The results illustrated that the time for BP planning was significantly reduced and the number of BPs was reduced by 63.41%compared to existing manual planning,which demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Zircon U-Pb geochronology,Hf isotopes,and geochemistry constraints on the age and tectonic affinity of the basement granitoids from the Qiongdongnan Basin,northern South China Sea

Studies in the northern South China Sea(SCS)basement remain important for understanding the evolution of the Southeast Asian continental margin.Due to a thick cover of sediments and scarce borehole penetration,little is known about the age and tectonic affinity of this basement.In this study,an integrated study of zircon U-Pb geochronology,Hf isotopes,and whole-rock major and trace elements on seven basement granitoids from seven boreholes of Qiongdongnan Basin has been carried out.New zircon U-Pb results for these granitoids present middle-late Permian((270.0±1.2)Ma;(253±3.4)Ma),middle to late Triassic((246.2±3.4)Ma;(239.3±0.96)Ma;(237.9±0.99)Ma;(228.9±1.0)Ma)and Late Cretaceous ages((120.6±0.6)Ma).New data from this study,in combination with the previous dataset,indicates that granitoid ages in northern SCS basement vary from 270 Ma to 70.5 Ma,with three age groups of 270–196 Ma,162–142 Ma,and 137–71 Ma,respectively.Except for the late Paleozoic-Mesozoic rocks in the basement of the northern SCS,a few old zircon grains with the age of(2708.1±17)Ma to(2166.6±19)Ma provide clues to the existence of the pre-Proterozoic components.The geochemical signatures indicate that the middle Permian-early Cretaceous granitoids from the Qiongdongnan Basin are I-type granites formed in a volcanic arc environment,which were probably related to the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.
