Reduced macular thickness and vascular density in abnormal glucose metabolism patients:A meta-analysis of optical coherence tomography(OCT)and OCT angiography studies

Recent advances in hydrocarbon exploration have been made in the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex reservoirs of the Dengying Formation in the western Sichuan Basin, SW China,where the depositional process is regarded confusing. The microfacies, construction types, and depositional model of the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been investigated using unmanned aerial vehicle photography, outcrop section investigation, thin section identification,and seismic reflections in the southwestern Sichuan Basin. The microbialite lithologic textures in this region include thrombolite, dendrolite, stromatolite, fenestral stromatolite, spongiostromata stone,oncolite, aggregated grainstone, and botryoidal grapestone. Based on the comprehensive analysis of“depositional fabrics-lithology-microfacies”, an association between a fore mound, mound framework,and back mound subfacies has been proposed based on water depth, current direction, energy level and lithologic assemblages. The microfacies of the mound base, mound core, mound flank, mound cap, and mound flat could be recognized among the mound framework subfacies. Two construction types of marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been determined based on deposition location, mound scale, migration direction, and sedimentary facies association. Type Jinkouhe microbial mound constructions(TJMMCs) develop along the windward margin owing to their proximity to the seaward subfacies fore mound, with a northeastwardly migrated microbial mound on top of the mud mound,exhibiting the characteristics of large-sized mounds and small-sized banks in the surrounding area. Type E'bian microbial mound constructions(TEMMCs) primarily occur on the leeward margin, resulting from the presence of onshore back mound subfacies, with the smaller southwestward migrated microbial mounds existing on a thicker microbial flat. Polydatin ameliorates hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury by modulating macrophage polarization

A new calibration method for radon detector in seismic systems

Radon observation is an important measurement item of seismic precursor network *** radon detector calibration is a key technical link for ensuring radon observation *** present,the radon detector calibration in seismic systems in China is faced with a series of bottleneck problems,such as aging and scrap,acquisition difficulties,high supervision costs,and transportation limitations of radon *** a result,a large number of radon detectors cannot be accurately calibrated regularly,seriously affecting the accuracy and reliability of radon observation data in *** solve this problem,a new calibration method for radon detectors was *** advantage of this method is that the dangerous radioactive substance,i.e.,the radon source,can be avoided,but only“standard instruments”and water samples with certain dissolved radon concentrations can be used to realize radon detector *** method avoids the risk of radioactive leakage and solves the current widespread difficulties and bottleneck of radon detector calibration in seismic systems in *** comparison experiment with the traditional calibration method shows that the error of the calibration coefficient obtained by the new method is less than 5%compared with that by the traditional method,which meets the requirements of seismic observation systems,confirming the reliability of the new *** new method can completely replace the traditional calibration method of using a radon source in seismic systems.

Efflcient machining of a complex blisk channel using a disc cutter

For rough machining of a complex narrow cavity,e.g.,a complex blisk channel on an aero-engine,the typically used cutting tools are the slender cylindrical cutter and conical ***,as neither of the two is particularly suited for rough machining,wherein the main purpose is to remove a large volume as quickly as possible,the machining efficiency is low,especially when the part materials are of hard-to-cut types(e.g.,Titanium-alloy)for which it often takes days to rough machine a ***,disc machining provides a new and efficient roughing solution,since a disc cutter with a large radius enables a much larger cutting speed and thus a larger material removal ***,due to the large radius of the disc cutter,its potential collision with narrow and twisted channels becomes a serious *** this paper,we propose a novel twophase approach for efficiently machining a complex narrow cavity workpiece using a disc-shaped cutter,i.e.,3+2-axis disc-slotting of the channel by multiple layers(rough machining)+five-axis disc-milling of the freeform channel side surfaces(semi-finish machining).Both simulation and physical cutting experiments are conducted to assess the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed *** experimental results show that,with respect to a same cusp-height threshold on the channel side surfaces,the total machining time of the tested part by the proposed method is about only 36%of that by the conventional approach of plunging-milling(for roughing)plus milling by a slender cylindrical cutter(for semi-finishing).

Effect of the sloping seabed on 3D soil-spudcan interaction using a material point-finite element(MPM-FEM)model

The sloping seabed affects the bearing capacity and failure mechanism of soil,which may compromise the stability and safety of offshore structures such as jack-up *** paper employs a coupled model combining the material point method and finite element method(MPM-FEM)to analyze the impact of sloping seabeds on the three-dimensional soil-spudcan *** MPM-FEM model implements the B¯approach to solve the challenge of volumetric locking due to the incompressibility constraints imposed by yield *** is validated against the centrifuge *** effects of sloping seabeds on penetration resistance,soil flow pattern,lateral response,stress distribution,and failure mechanism are *** soil mainly undergoes overall failure when the ratio of penetration depth to spudcan diameter(i.e.D P/D)is between 0 and *** the slope angle increases,the soil on the side of lower slope is expelled further,resulting in an asymmetric stress distribution and a larger horizontal sliding force of *** D P/D increases to 0.75,the soil transitions to localized plastic flow failure,and the range of soil flow affected by the spudcan penetration *** results show that,when the slope angle increases,the lateral displacement and stress distribution on the lower slope of a sloping seabed is significantly larger than that of a horizontal seabed,impacting the spudcan and surrounding soil *** study suggests that the seabed slope significantly affects the range of soil flow and failure at shallow penetration,indicating that the slope angle should be taken into account in the design and installation of offshore jack-up rigs,particularly in areas with sloping seabeds.

To the Editor:Normal-tension glaucoma(NTG)is a progressive optic neuropathy characterized by irreversible blindness with statistically normal intraocular pressure(iOP)(≤21 mmHg),^([1,2])which makes early-stage diagnosis in the clinical practice *** pathways underlying NTG include vascular dysregulation,toxic metabolite accumulation,and elevated translaminar cribrosa pressure difference(TLCPD).^([3])Although various small animal models have provided evidence of different pathophysiological mechanisms,the complicated clinical phenotype cannot be fully imitated by secondary disease models,and the gap between rodents and humans weakens their translational ***,the pathological changes associated with NTG remain unclear.

Current research on alexithymia in elderly people in nursing institutions: a scoping review

To describe and analyze the research status of alexithymia in elderly people in nursing institutions,and summarizes the existing research results and *** literature in PubMed,CochraneLibrary,Web of Science,EBSCO,Proquest,Scopus,Sinomed,CNKi,WanFang,ViP was computer searched,and the time frame was build to October 30,2023.A total of 15 articles were included,comprising 10 in Chinese and 5 in *** them,14 articles were cross-sectional studies reporting the prevalence and influencing factors of communication disorders in elderly people residing in nursing homes.A total of three assessment tools were ***,three articles described preventive or intervention measures targeting *** has a high incidence and severity among elderly individuals in nursing ***,there are only a few assessment tools available,and experimental studies are notably *** research should focus on enhancing the understanding of alexithymia in this population by developing and validating more comprehensive assessment tools,diversifying research methodologies,and conducting intervention studies that consider the various influencing factors.

Damage Diagnosis of Bleacher Based on an Enhanced Convolutional Neural Network with Training interference

Bleachers play a crucial role in practical engineering applications, and any damage incurred during their operationposes a significant threat to the safety of both life and property. Consequently, it becomes imperative to conductdamage diagnosis and health monitoring of bleachers. The intricate structure of bleachers, the varied types ofpotential damage, and the presence of similar vibration data in adjacent locations make it challenging to achievesatisfactory diagnosis accuracy through traditional time-frequency analysis methods. Furthermore, field environmentalnoise can adversely impact the accuracy of bleacher damage diagnosis. To enhance the accuracy and antinoisecapabilities of bleacher damage diagnosis, this paper proposes improvements to the existing ConvolutionalNeural Network with Training interference (TiCNN). The result is an advanced Convolutional Neural Networkmodel with superior accuracy and robust anti-noise capabilities, referred to as Enhanced TiCNN (ETiCNN).ETiCNN autonomously extracts optimal damage-sensitive features from the original vibration data. To validatethe superiority of the proposed ETiCNN, experiments are conducted using the bleacher model from Qatar Universityas the subject. Comparative studies under identical experimental conditions involve TiCNN, Deep ConvolutionalNeural Networks with wide first-layer kernels (WDCNN), and One-Dimensional ConvolutionalNeural Network (1DCNN). The experimental findings demonstrate that the ETiCNN model achieves the highestaccuracy, approximately 99%, and exhibits robust classification abilities in both Phases i and ii of the damagediagnosis experiments. Simultaneously, the ETiCNN model demonstrates strong anti-noise capabilities, outperformingTiCNN by 3% to 4% and surpassing other models in performance.

将“促进科技和金融结合”试点政策的冲击视为一项“准自然实验”,基于信号传递理论,分析了该试点政策影响科技企业研发投入的内在机理,并基于2009-2020年中小板和创业板上市企业的微观数据,运用渐进DiD模型评估了该试点政策对企业研发投入的效应。研究结果表明:该试点政策显著提升了科技企业研发投入,且这一政策效应具有持续性。此外,政策的研发投入效应在不同生命周期、不同所有制以及不同规模的企业间存在差异。机制检验表明,该试点政策通过财政补贴效应、信贷支持效应和机构投资集聚效应对科技企业研发投入产生影响,其中信贷支持效应贡献度最高,机构投资集聚效应贡献度次之,财政补贴效应的贡献度最低。拓展分析发现,试点政策显著促进了科技企业的创新产出,并提高了科技企业的创新质量。本文的研究结论为充分发挥科技金融结合试点政策的研发投入效应提供了政策启示。
