T-tym phocyte migration under flow is critical for immune responses, but the mechanisms by which flow modulates the migratory beha- viors of T-lymphocytes remain unclear. Human peripheral blood T-lymphocytes （PBTLs）, when stimulated with phorboL 12-myristate 13-acetate （PMA）, stretched their ceU bodies dramatically and moved alongthe flow direction. In contrast, stromal ceil-derived factor- lα-stimulated PBTI.s deformed and migrated in a random manner. Here we elucidated the molecular mechanisms underlying flow- induced directionality and deformation of PMA-stimulated PBTLs. PMA primed PBTLs for polarization under flow, with protein kinase C （PKC）-δ enriched in the leading edge, PKC-β1 in the microtubuie organizing center, and PKC-1311 in the uropod and peripheral region. PKC-δ regulated cell protrusions in the leading edge through Tiaml/Racl/caLmoduUn, whereas PKC-β regulated RhoA/Rho- associated kinase activity and microtubule stability to modulate uropod contractility and detachment. Our findings indicate that PKC-δ and -β coordinate in the cell Leading edge and uropod, respectively, to modu｜ate the directionality and deformability of migratory T-Lymphocytes under flow.

Access control enables the owners to assign different users different permissions to see different views. The current blog system does not support fine-grained authorization. That is, the bloggers disallow to just assign partial contents of the blog posts （i.e., a paragraph or several paragraphs） to readers. The management cost is no doubt to be significantly increased while handling the authorizations on the huge amount of blog articles. In this paper, we propose a scheme for supporting a fine-grained access control mechanism on blog articles. The advantage is that bloggers are able to authorize partial contents of blog posts to different users or groups of users.

The present study considers wave scattering phenomena around a cylindrical island mounted on a general axisymmetric topography or a general submerged truncated axi-symmetric shoal based on the mild-slope equation. The method of separation of variables and Taylor series expansion are invoked to find the approximate solution to the variable water depth region which varies proportionally to an arbitrary power of radial distance. Validations against the solutions for the combined wave refraction and diffraction around a cylindrical island mounted on a paraboloidal shoal of Liu et al. in 2004 and the scattering and trapping of wave energy by a submerged truncated paraboloidal shoal of Lin and Liu in 2007 show excellent agreements as the power of radial distance being equal to two. For the solutions of wave refraction and diffraction around a cylindrical island mounted on a shoal with depth proportionally to an arbitrary power of radial distance, good agreements with Zhai et al.’s(2013) solutions are demonstrated. Since the robustness of the assumption of a general axi-symmetric geometry based on an arbitrary power variability of the radial distance, the present solution can be very conveniently employed to investigate the effects of bottom topography on wave scattering and trapping patterns.

AIM: To assess the effects of soy protein, isoflavone, and saponin on liver and blood lipid in rats that consumed high-cholesterol ***: High-cholesterol diets (1%) with or without soy material were fed to 6-wk-old male Sprague-Dawley rats for 8 wk. Blood lipids, liver lipids, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) levels were measured. The in vitro bile acid-binding ability of soy materials was ***: The results of in vitro studies showed that soy protein isolate had a significantly higher bile acid-binding ability (8.4±0.8%) than soy saponin (3.1±0.7%) and isoflavone (1.3±0.4%, P＜0.05). On the other hand, at the end of the experimental period, rats that consumed soy protein diets had lower GOT and GPT levels than rats that consumed casein under high-cholesterol *** that consumed soy protein also had lower total cholesterol (TC) levels in the liver than those that consumed casein under high-cholesterol diets. Rats that consumed the soy protein diet containing both saponin and isoflavone had lower hepatic TC level than those that consumed the soy protein diet without isoflavone *** effect of different types of proteins on triglyceride was not ***: Consumption of soy provided benefits to control lipid levels under high-cholesterol dieting conditions in this rat model of hypercholesterolemia. The major component that reduced hepatic TC was not saponin, but possibly isoflavone.

to the capability of reflecting social perception on semantic of resources, folksonomy has been proposed to improve the social learning for education and scholar researching. However, its actual impact is significantly influenced by the semantic ambiguity problem of tags. So, in this paper, we proposed a novel way of detecting homonyms, one of the main sources of tag＇s semantic ambiguity problem, in noisy folksonomies. The study is based on two hypotheses： 1） Users having different interests tend to have different understanding of the same tag. 2） Users having similar interest tend to have common understanding of the same tag. Therefore, we firstly discover user communities according to users＇ interests. Then, tag contexts are discovered in subsets of folksonomy on the basis of user communities. The experimental results show that our method is effective and outperform the method finding tag contexts using all tags in folksonomy with overlapping clustering algorithm especially when various users having different interests are contained by the folksonomyo

AIM:To reveal new tumor markers and target genes from differentially expressed genes of primary tumor samples using cDNA ***: The ^33p labeled cDNAs were synthesized by reverse transcription of message RNA from the liver cancerous tissue and adjacent non-cancerous liver tissue from the same patient and used to hybridize to LifeGrid 1.0 cDNA microarray blot containing 8400 known and unique human cDNA gene targets, and an expression profile of genes was produced in one paired human liver tumor *** a global analysis of gene expression of 8400 genes,we selected some genes to confirm the differential expression using Northern blot and ***:Parallel analysis of the hybridized signals enabled us to get an expression profile of genes in which about 500genes were differentially expressed in the paired liver tumor tissues. We identified 4 genes, the expression of three-(Beclin 1, RbAp48 and Pir51) were increased and one (aldolase b) was decreased in liver tumor tissues. In addition,the expression of these genes in 6 hepatoma cell lines was also showed by RT-PCR ***:cDNA microarray permits a high throughput identification of changes in gene expression. The genes encoding Beclin 1, RbAp48, Pir51 and aldolase b are first reported that may be related with hepatocarcinoma.

In this study,the polynomial expansion method(PEM)and the polynomial method of particular solutions(PMPS)are applied to solve a class of linear elliptic partial differential equations(PDEs)in two dimensions with constant coefﬁ*** the solution procedure,the sought solution is approximated by the Pascal polynomials and their particular solutions for the PEM and PMPS,*** multiple-scale technique is applied to improve the conditioning of the resulted linear equations and the accuracy of numerical results for both of the PEM and *** mathematical statements are provided to demonstrate the equivalence of the PEM and PMPS bases as they are both bases of a certain polynomial vector ***,some numerical experiments were conducted to validate the implementation of the PEM and *** results demonstrated that the PEM is more accurate and well-conditioned than the PMPS and the multiple-scale technique is essential in these polynomial methods.

Tissue culture has been widely used for mass propagation of Phalaenopsis. However, somaclonal variation occurred during micropropagation process posed a severe problem by affecting product quality. In this study, wild type and peloric flower buds of Phalaenopsis hybrids derived from flower stalk nodal culture were used for cDNA-RAPD and cDNA suppression subtractive hybridization analyses in order to study their genetic difference in terms of expressed sequence tags. A total of 209 ESTs from normal flower buds and 230 from mutants were sequenced. These ESTs sequences can be grouped into several functional categories involved in different cellular processes including metabolism, signal transduction, transcription, cell growth and division, protein synthesis, and protein localization, and into a subcat- egory of proteins with unknown function. Cymbidium mosaic virus transcript was surprisingly found expressed fre- quently in the peloric mutant of P. Little Mary. Real-time RT-PCR analysis on selected ESTs showed that in mutant flower buds, a bZIP transcription factor (TGA1a-like protein) was down-regulated, while up-regulated genes include auxin-regulated protein kinase, cyclophilin, and TCP-like genes. A retroelement clone was also preferentially expressed in the peloric mutant flowers. On the other hand, ESTs involved in DNA methylation, chromatin remodeling and post- transcriptional regulation, such as DNA methyltransferase, histone acetyltransferase, ERECTA, and DEAD/DEAH RNA helicase, were enriched in normal flower buds than the mutants. The enriched transcripts in the wild type indicate the down regulation of these transcripts in the mutants, and vice versa. The potential roles of the analyzed transcripts in the development of Phalaenopsis flowers are discussed.

High-Temperature Deformation and Low-Temperature Fracture Behavior of Steel Slag Rubber Asphalt Mixture Surface Layer

Steel slag is regarded as one of the most widespread solid by-products of steel smelting with little commercial *** can play a vital role in the construction industry especially in the field of transportation infrastructure ***,there are few evaluation systems established on the high-temperature deformation and low-temperature fracture behavior of steel slag rubber asphalt mixture(SSRAM).This study explores the perfor-mance of SSRAM by uniaxial penetration test,Semi-Circular Bending(SCB)test and evaluates test data through regression *** uniaxial penetration test results shows that the failure deformation of SSRAM increases with the increase of steel slag *** to the minimum allowable permanent deformation(R TS-min),the deformation of SSRAM should be controlled within 3 ***,the cracking index of the SSRAM surface layer calculated at low temperature can meet the design *** SCB test results show that the stress peak degradation rate(specimens with 10 mm notch are compared with 0 mm)of SSRAM with 40%steel slag content is 20.04%.That means proper steel slag content makes the stress peak degradation rate of SSRAM reaches the lowest *** calculation results of fracture energy density(J_(1C))show that the steel slag additive reduced the fracture energy density of ***,it is still proved that SSRAM with 40%steel slag has the best low-temperature fracture performance based on critical fracture toughness(K_(1C))and fracture stress ***-more,the crack propagation velocity parametric equation of SSRAM is proposed through fracture mechanics theory and the increase of velocity is *** the high-temperature deformation resistance and low-temperature fracture property,the SSRAM surface layer with 40%steel slag content showed a batter application potential.
