Herein,a modified metal-free acetylene black(MMF-AB)catalyst was synthesized by a simple solvothermal-calcination method and designed successfully to activate peroxodisulfate(PDS)for the degradation of sulfisoxazole(SIZ).Due to the doping of N,S and O metal-free elements,the modified catalyst showed excellent catalytic performance with 100%SIZ removal within 30 *** first-order reaction rate constants(evaluating catalytic efficiencies and activity)of MMF-AB(kobs=0.105 min^(−1))was 3 times higher than pure-AB(k_(obs)=0.029 min^(−1)).Interestingly,it was demonstrated that the reaction sys-tem is based on the transfer of electrons from SIZ to PDS to realize an electron-transfer-based mechanism by the evidence of premixing,electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectroscopy,salt-bridge experi-ments and electrochemical *** introduction of recyclable filtration device solved the secondary pollution caused by the dispersion of the powdered catalyst in the treated water,which further proved the practicality and superiority of the MMF-AB catalyst.

BACKGROUND Erythropoietic protoporphyria(EPP)is a rare genetic disorder stemming from ferrochelatase gene mutations,which leads to abnormal accumulation of protoporphyrin IX primarily in erythrocytes,skin,bone marrow and *** porphyria-related severe liver damage is rare,its consequences can be severe with limited treatment *** SUMMARY This case study highlights a successful intervention for a 35-year-old male with EPP-related liver impairment,employing a combination of red blood cell(RBC)exchange and therapeutic plasma exchange(TPE).The patient experienced significant symptom relief and a decrease in bilirubin levels following multiple PE sessions and an RBC *** The findings suggest that this combined approach holds promise for managing severe hepatic impairment in EPP.

Objective Brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs) were found to shift from their usually inactive state to an active state in ischemic stroke (IS) and cause neuronal damage. Ginsenoside Rb1 (GRb1),a component derived from medicinal plants,is known for its pharmacological benefits in IS,but its protective effects on BMECs have yet to be explored. This study aimed to investigate the potential protective effects of GRb1 on BMECs. Methods An in vitro oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) model was established to mimic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. Bulk Rna-sequencing data were analyzed by using the Human Autophagy Database and various bioinformatic tools,including gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA),Gene Ontology (GO) classification and enrichment analysis,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis,protein-protein interaction network analysis,and molecular docking. Experimental validation was also performed to ensure the reliability of our findings. Results Rb1 had a protective effect on BMECs subjected to OGD/R injury. Specifically,GRb1 was found to modulate the interplay between oxidative stress,apoptosis,and autophagy in BMECs. Key targets such as sequestosome 1 (SQSTM1/p62),autophagy related 5 (ATG5),and hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) were identified,highlighting their potential roles in mediating the protective effects of GRb1 against IS-induced damage. Conclusion GRbl protects BMECs against OGD/R injury by influencing oxidative stress,apoptosis,and autophagy. The identification of SQSTM1/p62,ATG5,and HIF-1α as promising targets further supports the potential of GRb1 as a therapeutic agent for IS,providing a foundation for future research into its mechanisms and applications in IS treatment.

The basic mechanism of heterosis has not been systematically and completely *** previous studies,we obtained three economically important fishes that exhibit rapid growth,WR(WCC♀×RCC♂),WR-Ⅱ(WR♀×WCC♂),and WR-Ⅲ(WR-Ⅱ♀×4naU♂),through distant ***,the mechanism underlying this rapid growth remains *** this study,we found that WR,WR-Ⅱ,and WR-Ⅲshowed muscle hypertrophy and higher muscle protein and fat contents compared with their parent species(RCC and WCC).Candidate genes responsible for this rapid growth were then obtained through an analysis of 12 muscle ***,the mRna level of mstnb(myostatin b),which is a negative regulator of myogenesis,was significantly reduced in WR,WR-Ⅱ,and WR-Ⅲcompared with the parent *** verify the function of mstnb,a mstnb-deficient mutant RCC line was generated using the CRISPR-Cas9 *** average body weight of mstnb-deficient RCC at 12 months of age was significantly increased by 29.57%compared with that in wild-type ***,the area and number of muscle fibers were significantly increased in mstnb-deficient RCC,indicating hypertrophy and ***,the muscle protein and fat contents were significantly increased in mstnb-deficient *** molecular regulatory mechanism of mstnb was then revealed by transcription profiling,which showed that genes related to myogenesis(myod,myog,and myf5),protein synthesis(PI3K-AKT-mTOR),and lipogenesis(pparγand fabp3)were highly activated in hybrid fishes and mstnb-deficient *** study revealed that low expression or deficiency of mstnb regulates somatic growth by promoting myogenesis,protein synthesis,and lipogenesis in hybrid fishes and mstnb-deficient RCC,which provides evidence for the molecular mechanism of heterosis via distant hybridization.

The high energy cosmic-radiation detection(HERD)facility is planned to launch in 2027 and scheduled to be installed on the China Space *** serves as a dark matter particle detector,a cosmic ray instrument,and an observatory for high-energy gamma rays.A transition radiation detector placed on one of its lateral sides serves dual purpose,(ⅰ)calibrating HERD's electromagnetic calorimeter in the TeV energy range,and(ⅱ)serving as an independent detector for high-energy gamma *** this paper,the prototype readout electronics design of the transition radiation detector is demonstrated,which aims to accurately measure the charge of the anodes using the SAMPA application specific integrated circuit *** electronic performance of the prototype system is evaluated in terms of noise,linearity,and *** the presented design,each electronic channel can achieve a dynamic range of 0–100 fC,the RMS noise level not exceeding 0.15 fC,and the integral nonlinearity was<0.2%.To further verify the readout electronic performance,a joint test with the detector was carried out,and the results show that the prototype system can satisfy the requirements of the detector's scientific goals.
