Adaptive mutation sparrow search algorithm-Elman-AdaBoost model for predicting the deformation of subway tunnels

A novel coupled model integrating Elman-AdaBoost with adaptive mutation sparrow search algorithm(AM-SSA),called AMSSAElman-AdaBoost,is proposed for predicting the existing metro tunnel deformation induced by adjacent deep excavations in soft *** novelty is that the modified SSA proposes adaptive adjustment strategy to create a balance between the capacity of exploitation and *** AM-SSA,firstly,the population is initialized by cat mapping chaotic sequences to improve the ergodicity and randomness of the individual sparrow,enhancing the global search *** the individuals are adjusted by Tent chaotic disturbance and Cauchy mutation to avoid the population being too concentrated or scattered,expanding the local search ***,the adaptive producer-scrounger number adjustment formula is introduced to balance the ability to seek the global and local *** addition,it leads to the improved algorithm achieving a better accuracy level and convergence speed compared with the original *** demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of AM-SSA,23 classical benchmark functions and 25 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation benchmark test functions(CEC2005),are employed as the numerical examples and investigated in comparison with some wellknown optimization *** statistical results indicate the promising performance of AM-SSA in a variety of optimization with constrained and unknown search *** utilizing the AdaBoost algorithm,multiple sets of weak AMSSA-Elman predictor functions are restructured into one strong predictor by successive iterations for the tunnel deformation prediction ***,the on-site monitoring data acquired from a deep excavation project in Ningbo,China,were selected as the training and testing ***,the predictive outcomes are compared with those of other different optimization and machine learning *** the end,the obtained results in this real-world geotechnical eng

A novel model of the carbon cycle in the Cambrian ocean

The classic model of the carbon cycle suggests that the extensive burial of ^(12)C-enriched organic carbon leads to a positive carbon isotope(δ^(13)C)excursion(CIE),while massive oxidation of organic carbon results in a negative ***,global events such as the BAsal Cambrian Carbon isotope Excursion(BACE)and the Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE)are global negative and positive δ^(13)C excursions,respectively,and they also exhibit significant organic carbon burial anomalies,displaying decoupling between carbon isotope anomalies and organic carbon *** on the analyses of the Cambrian carbon cycle and paleoceanographic evolution records from well Tadong2 in the Tarim Basin,we propose a novel model of the carbon cycle in the Cambrian ocean that incorporates oceanic dissolved organic carbon(DOC).Our findings are as follows.(1)The Cambrian ocean maintained substantial DOC reservoirs,which were regulated by ocean currents and paleo-redox conditions and exerted significant influence on the oceanic carbon cycle.(2)The oxidation of the oceanic DOC reservoirs during the early Cambrian led to the BACE and the Asian Phenomenon of the Cambrian petroleum systems,while the expansion of the oceanic DOC reservoirs during the SPICE resulted in a global positive δ^(13)C excursion and the absence of significant organic carbon burial.(3)The deep-basin sedimentary environment in the eastern depression of the Tarim Basin may have fostered the development of organic-rich black shales during the Furongian Series,corresponding to organic carbon burial during the SPICE and representing potential prospects for ultra-deep oil and gas *** research should focus on the formation mechanism,reserve scale,and influencing factors of the oceanic DOC reservoirs,as well as their resource and environmental *** is expected that new breakthroughs will be made in the fields of Earth system science and oil and gas exploration.

Buckling Optimization of Curved Grid Stiffeners through the Level Set Based Density Method

Stiffened structures have great potential for improvingmechanical performance,and the study of their stability is of great *** this paper,the optimization of the critical buckling load factor for curved grid stiffeners is solved by using the level set based density method,where the shape and cross section(including thickness and width)of the stiffeners can be optimized *** grid stiffeners are a combination ofmany single stiffenerswhich are projected by the corresponding level set *** thickness and width of each stiffener are designed to be independent variables in the projection applied to each level set ***,the path of each single stiffener is described by the zero iso-contour of the level set *** the single stiffeners are combined together by using the p-norm method to obtain the stiffener *** proposed method is validated by several numerical examples to optimize the critical buckling load factor.

While single-modal visible light images or infrared images provide limited information,infrared light captures significant thermal radiation data,whereas visible light excels in presenting detailed texture ***-bining images obtained from both modalities allows for leveraging their respective strengths and mitigating individual limitations,resulting in high-quality images with enhanced contrast and rich texture *** capabilities hold promising applications in advanced visual tasks including target detection,instance segmentation,military surveillance,pedestrian detection,among *** paper introduces a novel approach,a dual-branch decomposition fusion network based on AutoEncoder(AE),which decomposes multi-modal features into intensity and texture information for enhanced *** contrast enhancement module(CEM)and texture detail enhancement module(DEM)are devised to process the decomposed images,followed by image fusion through the *** proposed loss function ensures effective retention of key information from the source images of both *** comparisons and generalization experiments demonstrate the superior performance of our network in preserving pixel intensity distribution and retaining texture *** the qualitative results,we can see the advantages of fusion details and local *** the quantitative experiments,entropy(EN),mutual information(MI),structural similarity(SSIM)and other results have improved and exceeded the SOTA(State of the Art)model as a whole.

Rapid Phase Ambiguity Elimination Methods for DOA Estimator via Hybrid Massive MIMO Receive Array

For a sub-connected hybrid multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) receiver with K subarrays and N antennas, there exists a challenging problem of how to rapidly remove phase ambiguity in only single time-slot. A direction of arrival(DOA) estimator of maximizing received power(Max-RP) is proposed to find the maximum value of K-subarray output powers, where each subarray is in charge of one sector, and the center angle of the sector corresponding to the maximum output is the estimated true DOA. To make an enhancement on precision, Max-RP plus quadratic interpolation(Max-RP-QI) method is designed. In the proposed Max-RP-QI, a quadratic interpolation scheme is adopted to interpolate the three DOA values corresponding to the largest three receive powers of *** achieve the Cramer Rao lower bound, a Root-MUSIC plus Max-RP-QI scheme is developed. Simulation results show that the proposed three methods eliminate the phase ambiguity during one time-slot and also show low computational complexities. The proposed Root-MUSIC plus Max-RP-QI scheme can reach the Cramer Rao lower bound,and the proposed Max-RP and Max-RP-QI are still some performance losses 2–4 d B compared to the Cramer Rao lower bound.

Simulation of fire emergency evacuation in a large-passenger-flow subway station based on the on-site measured data of Shenzhen Metro

Because of its large capacity,high efficiency and energy savings,the subway has gradually become the primary mode of transportation for citizens.A high density of passengers exists within a large-passenger-flow subway station,and the number of casualties and injuries during a fire emergency is *** this paper,Pathfinder software and on-site measured data of Pingzhou station in Shenzhen(China)were utilized to simulate a fire emergency evacuation in a large-passenger-flow subway *** Required Safe Egress Time(RSET),number of passengers and flow rates of stairs and escalators were analysed for three fire evacuation scenarios:train fire,platform fire and hall *** evacuation time of the train fire,which was 1173 s,was the longest,and 3621 occupants needed to evacuate when the train was fully *** could not complete the evacuation within 6 mins in all three fire evacuation scenarios,which does not meet the current standard requirements and *** changing the number of passengers and the number of stairs for evacuation,the flow rate capacity and evacuation time were explored,which have reference values for safety management and emergency evacuation plan optimization during peak hours of subway operation.

Layer-by-layer assembly of chitosan and carbon nanotube on cotton fabric for strain and temperature sensing

Layer-by-layer(LBL)assembly shows great potential in fabrication of flexible conductive cotton fabrics(FCCF)with carbon nanotubes(CNT)as conductive components but is limited because complicated chemical modification of CNT is usually ***,we reported a facile and eco-friendly LBL approach to fabricating FCCF by dipping in chitosan(CS)aqueous solution and poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate)(PSS)wrapped CNT aqueous dispersion *** FCCF with electrical conductivity higher than 30 S/m was achieved when 4 layers of CNT were coated on the cotton fabric(CF).The obtained FCCF possessed outstanding mechanical stability with electrical resistivity almost unchanged after exposure to 500 times mechanical abrasion and 500 circles of tape *** FCCF showed excellent strain sensing performance with high sensitivity(with a gauge factor up to 35.1)and a fast response time(70 ms).It can be used as a strain sensor to accurately detect various human deformations such as finger bending and joint *** FCCF could be used as a temperature sensor in that it exhibited stable and reproducible negative temperature sensing behavior in the temperature range of 30-100℃.
