Metal hydride with proper hydrogen storage properties is the key component of hydride thermal hydrogen compressor.In this work,Ti_(0.85)Zr_(0.17)(Cr-Mn-V)_(1.3)Fe_(0.7)-based alloys were developed to achieve thermal hydrogen compression at mild operating temperatures of water bath.The results indicate the single C 14-type Laves phase as well as homogeneously distributed elements of all alloys.With increased Mn content in Ti_(0.85)Zr_(0.17)Cr_(1.2-x)Mn_xFe_(0.7)V_(0.1)(x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3)alloys.

The effect of LaNi and Ti on thermal storage properties of MgH_(2)was investigated.The thermal storage performances of Mg are significantly improved by adding LaNi and Ti.The pressure-composition-temperature(PCT)curves indicate that the formation enthalpy for Mg-15 wt%Ti-5 wt%LaNi sample is 73.00 kJ·mol^(-1),which approaches to the theoretical values of pure MgH_(2).The isothermal measurement indicates that,for the Mg-15wt%Ti-5 wt%LaNi,the first absorption reaction fraction within 2 min is 93.77%,increasing by 0.32%,0.24%and0.08%compared with those for Mg,Mg-5 wt%LaNi and Mg-15 wt%Ti,respectively.The first desorption reaction fraction within 2 min is 73.18%,increasing by 55.91%,9.79%and 8.12%compared with those for Mg,Mg-5wt%LaNi and Mg-15 wt%Ti,respectively.Moreover,Mg-15 wt%Ti-5 wt%LaNi has the best cyclic stability in all the samples.The thermal storage performances of Mg by adding both LaNi and Ti are improved mainly ascribed to synergistic effect of in situ formed La_(4)H_(12.19),Mg_(2)NiH_(4),H_(0.3)Mg_(2)Ni and TiH_(2)particles during cyclic process.The above analysis demonstrates that Mg-15 wt%Ti-5wt%LaNi is suitable for using as a heat storage material.

The effect of LaNi on thermal storage properties of MgH2 prepared by ball milling under hydrogen atmosphere was investigated.The thermal storage properties,cyclic property and thermal storage mechanism were studied by pres sure-composition-temperature(PC T),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The Van't Hoff curve indicates that the formation enthalpy of Mg-16 wt%LaNi is 74.62 kJ·mol^(-1),which approaches to the theoretical values of MgH2.The isothermal measurement indicates that Mg-16 wt%LaNi can absorb 6.263 wt%H_(2)within 30 min at 390℃for the first absorption,the absorption reaction fraction within2 min is over 90.00%,and the desorption reaction fraction within 2 min is 72.63%,increasing by 55.36%compared with that of Mg.Mg-16 wt%LaNi has better cyclic stability than that of Mg,only decreasing by 0.609 wt%after 80cycles.The enhancement in thermal storage performances of Mg by adding LaNi is mainly ascribed to the formed Mg_(2)NiH_(4),H_(0.3)Mg_(2)Ni and La_(4)H_(12.19)during the cyclic process which act as catalysts and inhibit the growth of Mg.The above results prove that Mg-16 wt%LaNi is suitable for use as a heat storage material.

An in-depth understanding of the structure-activity relationship between the surface structure,chemical composition,adsorption and desorption of molecules,and their reaction activity and selectivity is necessary for the rational design of high-performance catalysts.Herein,we present a method for studying catalytic mechanisms using a combination of in situ reaction cells and surface science techniques.The proposed system consists of four parts:preparation chamber,temperatureprogrammed desorption(TPD)chamber,quick load-lock chamber,and in situ reaction cell.The preparation chamber was equipped with setups based on the surface science techniques used for standard sample preparation and characterization,including an Ar+sputter gun,Auger electron spectrometer,and a low-energy electron diffractometer.After a well-defined model catalyst was prepared,the sample was transferred to a TPD chamber to investigate the adsorption and desorption of the probe molecule,or to the reaction cell,to measure the catalytic activity.A thermal desorption experiment for methanol on a clean Cu(111)surface was conducted to demonstrate the functionality of the preparation and TPD chambers.Moreover,the repeatability of the in situ reaction cell experiment was verified by CO_(2) hydrogenation on the Ni(110)surface.At a reaction pressure of 800 Torr at 673 K,turnover frequencies for the methanation reaction and reverse water-gas shift reaction were 0.15 and 7.55 Ni atom^(-1) s^(-1),respectively.

Iterative FEA Method for Load Distribution of Flexible Supporting Thin-section Ball Bearing

To figure out the load distribution of thin-section rolling bearing supported by flexible structure with squirrel cage and the distribution's influence on bearing life,an iterative FEA method is proposed to use the result calculated from the Quasi-Dynamic model based on the rigid support hypothesis. The contact angle,contact position and stiffness of equivalent spring are modified during the iterative FEA to optimize the FEA model,and then the bearings' life can be predicted when the error is below 0.5%. It can be concluded that from the analysis results the load distribution under flexible support is more uniform than that of the rigid support,while the maximum load decreases by 11.2% and bearing life increases by 14.7%. The analysis result of different values of thickness of bearing house,rings and hollow shaft demonstrates the thicknesses of bearing house and hollow shaft have a greater influence on the load's uniformity and bearing's life than those of the rings.

Selective conversion of fructose to 1,2-propanediol(1,2-PDO)is considered as a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to petroleum-based processes,however,this approach still faces challenges associated with low efficiency and harsh reaction conditions.Here,we have successfully synthesized a novel bifunctional Ru-WO_(x)-MgO_(y) catalyst through a facile'one-pot'solvothermal method.Remarkably,this catalyst exhibits exceptional catalytic performances in the conversion of fructose to 1,2-PDO under mild reaction conditions.The yield of 1,2-PDO is up to 56.2%at 140°C for 4 h under an ultra-low hydrogen pressure of only 0.2 MPa,surpassing the reported results in recent literature(below 51%).Comprehensive characterizations and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the presence of oxygen vacancies in the Ru-WO_(x)-MgO_(y) catalyst,serving as active acidic sites,facilitates the chemoselective cleavage of C-C bonds in fructose,which leads to the generation of active intermediates and ultimately resulted in the high yield of 1,2-PDO.

Background:Enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)has shown effectiveness in terms of reducing the hospital stay and cost.However,the benefit of ERAS in patients undergoing hepatectomy for benign liver lesions is still unclear.Methods:ERAS was implemented in our center since March 1st,2018.From September 2016 to Febru-ary 2018,109 patients were enrolled into the control group,and from March 2018 to June 2019,124 patients were enrolled into the ERAS group.All the indicators related to operation,liver functions,and postoperative outcomes were included in the analysis.Results:The clinicopathologic baselines were similar in these two groups.A significantly higher propor-tion of patients underwent laparoscopic surgery in the ERAS group.On the whole,intraoperative blood loss(100.00 mL vs.200.00 mL,P<0.001),blood transfusion(3.23%vs.10.09%,P=0.033),total bilirubin(17.10μmol/L vs.21.00μmol/L,P=0.041),D-dimer(2.08μg/mL vs.2.57μg/mL,P=0.031),postoperative hospital stay(5.00 d vs.6.00 d,P<0.001),and postoperative morbidity(16.13%vs.32.11%,P=0.008)were significantly shorter or less in the ERAS group than those in the control group.After stratified by operation methods,ERAS group showed significantly shorter postoperative hospital stay in both open and laparoscopic operation(both P<0.001).In patients underwent open surgery,ERAS group demonstrated significantly shorter operative duration(131.76±8.75 min vs.160.73±7.23 min,P=0.016),less intra-operative blood loss(200.00 mL vs.450.00 mL,P=0.008)and less postoperative morbidity(16.00%vs.44.44%,P=0.040).Conclusions:ERAS program may be safe and effective for the patients underwent hepatectomy,especially open surgery,for benign liver lesions.

In order to address spectrum resource scarcity in traditional cellular networks,television(TV)white space is considered as a potential solution to offload a portion of network traffic and enlarge network capacity.This paper describes a cognitive cellular network which allocates low geometry users to the TV white space based on a proportional fair criterion.An uplink user allocation scheme is proposed and the validity of the proposed scheme is established by simulation of the cellular network usage in conjunction with the TV white space.The simulation results show clear improvements in both the user and the system performance with the cognitive coexistent cellular network compared with the traditional cellular network,and that the performance of the proposed user allocation scheme is superior to other user allocation schemes.

Improvement of Convergence to Steady State Solutions of Euler Equations with Weighted Compact Nonlinear Schemes

The convergence to steady state solutions of the Euler equations for weighted compact nonlinear schemes （WCNS） [Deng X. and Zhang H. （2000）, J. Comput. Phys. 165, 22–44 and Zhang S., Jiang S. and shu C.-W. （2008）, J. Comput. Phys. 227, 7294-7321] is studied through numerical tests. Like most other shock capturing schemes, WCNS also suffers from the problem that the residue can not settle down to machine zero for the computation of the steady state solution which contains shock waves but hangs at the truncation error level. In this paper, the techniques studied in [Zhang S. and shu. C.-W. （2007）, J. Sci. Comput. 31, 273–305 and Zhang S., Jiang S and shu. C.-W. （2011）, J. Sci. Comput. 47, 216–238], to improve the convergence to steady state solutions for WENO schemes, are generalized to the WCNS. Detailed numerical studies in one and two dimensional cases are performed. Numerical tests demonstrate the effectiveness of these techniques when applied to WCNS. The residue of various order WCNS can settle down to machine zero for typical cases while the small post-shock oscillations can be removed.

Background Adenosine deaminase(ADA)is a key enzyme in the purine salvage pathway.Genetic defects of the ADA gene can cause a subtype of severe combined immunodeficiency.To date,few Chinese cases have been reported.Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients diagnosed with ADA deficiency in Beijing Children's Hospital and summarized the previously published ADA deficiency cases from China in the literature.Results Nine patients were identified with two novel mutations(W272X and Q202=).Early-onset infection,thymic abnor-malities and failure to thrive were the most common manifestations of Chinese ADA-deficient patients.The ADA genotype has a major effect on the clinical phenotype.Notably,a novel synonymous mutation(c.606G>A,p.Q202=)was identified in a delayed-onset patient,which affected pre-mRNA splicing leading to a frameshift and premature truncation of the protein.Furthermore,the patient showed γδT cells expansion with an increased effect or phenotype,which may be associated with the delayed onset of disease.In addition,we reported cerebral aneurysm and intracranial artery stenosis for the first time in ADA deficiency.Five patients died with a median age of four months,while two patients received stem cell transplantation and are alive.Conclusions This study described the first case series of Chinese ADA-deficient patients.Early-onset infection,thymic abnormalities and failure to thrive were the most common manifestations in our patients.We identified a synonymous muta-tion that affected pre-mRNA splicing in the ADA gene,which had never been reported in ADA deficiency.Furthermore,we reported cerebral aneurysm in a delayed-onset patient for the first time.Further study is warranted to investigate the underlying mechanisms.
