Antibacterial resistance is a global health threat that requires further concrete action on the part of all *** this context,one of the biggest concerns is whether enough new antibacterial drugs are being discovered and *** several high-quality reviews on clinical antibacterial drug pipelines from a global perspective were published recently,none provides comprehensive information on original antibacterial drugs at clinical stages in *** this review,we summarize the latest progress of novel antibacterial drugs approved for marketing and under clinical evaluation in China since *** was obtained by consulting official websites,searching commercial databases,retrieving literature,asking personnel from institutions or companies,and other means,and a considerable part of the data covered here has not been included in other *** of June 30,2023,a total of 20 antibacterial projects from 17 Chinese pharmaceutical companies or developers were identified and *** them,two new antibacterial drugs that belong to traditional antibiotic classes were approved by the National Medical Products Administration(NMPA)in China in 2019 and 2021,respectively,and 18 antibacterial agents are in clinical development,with one under regulatory evaluation,five in phase-3,six in phase-2,and six in *** of the clinical candidates are new analogs or monocomponents of traditional antibacterial pharmacophore types,including two dual-acting hybrid antibiotics and a recombinant antibacterial ***,despite there being 17 antibacterial clinical candidates,our analysis indicates that there are still relatively few clinically differentiated antibacterial agents in stages of clinical development in ***,Chinese pharmaceutical companies and institutions will develop more innovative and clinically differentiated candidates with good market potential in the future research and development(R&D)of original antibacterial drugs.

Plate subduction leads to complex exhumation processes on *** Huangling Massif lies at the northern margin of the South China *** the Huangling Massif was exhumed as a watershed of the middle reaches of the Paleo-Yangtze River during the Mesozoic remains under *** examined the exhumation history of the Huangling Massif based on six granite bedrock samples,using apatite fission track(AFT)and apatite and zircon(U-Th)/He(AHe and ZHe)*** samples yielded ages of 157–132 Ma(ZHe),119–106 Ma(AFT),and 114–72 Ma(AHe),*** modeling revealed that three phases of rapid cooling occurred during the late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous,late Early Cretaceous,and late *** exhumation processes led to the high topographic relief responsible for the emergence of the Huangling *** integrated of our new data with published sedimentological records suggests that the Huangling Massif might have been the watershed of the middle reaches of the Paleo-Yangtze River since the *** that time,the rivers flowed westward into the Sichuan Basin and eastward into the Jianghan *** subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the Asian continent in the Mesozoic deeply influenced the geomorphic evolution of the South China Block.

A universal performance-enhancing method for Li-S batteries:the cathode material of Li_(2)S@Li_(2)S_(2)@Li_(2)S_(6) double-shell structure

Lithium sulfide(Li_(2)S)as a cathode material for lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,one of the most promising advanced batteries in the future,has received tremendous attention in the past ***,developing the practical Li_(2)S cathode confronts challenges of low conductivity for Li-ions and electrons,high sensitivity to environmental moisture,big overpotential barrier to electrochemical activation,and poor cyclability due to the shuttle effect of intermediate *** article herein reports a simple and effective strategy for making Li_(2)S@Li_(2)S_(2)@Li_(2)S_(6) double-shelled microparticles,which can significantly mitigate these *** are synthesized by dissolving Li2S together with S in dimethoxyethane,then drying off the solvent,and finally calcining the collected *** with pure Li_(2)S,such a double-shell material presents a 26.7% improvement in cycling capacity,0.5 V lower in activation overpotential,and prolonged tolerance in the ambient *** density functional theory calculation shows that the performance enhancement lies in the higher stability of Li2S6in contact with moisture and some autocatalytic effect of Li_(2)S_(2)@Li_(2)S_(6).Such a double-shell structure becomes a universal performanceenhancing approach when being combined with other means,such as cathodes composited with catalytic MoS_(2),separators modified with selenium-doped sulfurized-polyacrylonitrile/montmorillonite,electrolytes containing fluorenone additive,and Li anodes coated with a layer of Li_(3)*** corresponding capacity retention shows up to 80%improvement compared with pure Li_(2)S.

Deep-sea mining activities can potentially release metals,which pose a toxicological threat to deep-sea ***,due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of the deep-sea biosphere,there is insufficient knowledge about the impact of metal exposure on its *** this study,deep-sea mussel Gigantidas platifrons,a commonly used deep-sea toxicology model organism,was exposed to manganese(100,1000μg/L)or iron(500,5000μg/L)for 7 d,*** and iron were chosen for their high levels of occurrence within deep-sea *** accumulation and a battery of biochemical biomarkers related to antioxidative stress in superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),malondialdehyde(MDA);immune function in alkaline phosphatase(AKP),acid phosphatase(ACP);and energy metabolism in pyruvate kinase(PK)and hexokinase(HK)were assessed in mussel *** showed that deep-sea mussel *** exhibited a high capacity to accumulate Mn/*** addition,most tested biochemical parameters were altered by metal exposure,demonstrating that metals could induce oxidative stress,suppress the immune system,and affect energy metabolism of deep-sea *** integrated biomarker response(IBR)approach indicated that the exposure to Mn/Fe had a negative impact on deep-sea mussels,and Mn demonstrated a more harmful impact on deep-sea mussels than ***,SOD and CAT biomarkers had the greatest impact on IBR values in Mn treatments,while ACP and HK were most influential for the low-and high-dose Fe groups,*** study represents the first application of the IBR approach to evaluate the toxicity of metals on deep-sea fauna and serves as a crucial framework for risk assessment of deep-sea mining-associated metal exposure.

Unraveling the atomic interdiffusion mechanism of NiFe_(2_)O_(4)oxygen carriers during chemical looping CO_(2)conversion

Thermo-responsive nanocomposites have recently emerged as potential nanoplugging agents for shale stabilization in high-temperature water-based drilling fluids(WBDFs). However, their inhibitory properties have not been very effective in high-temperature drilling operations. Thermo-responsive Janus nanocomposites are expected to strongly interact with clay particles from the inward hemisphere of nanomaterials, which drive the establishment of a tighter hydrophobic membrane over the shale surface at the outward hemisphere under geothermal conditions for shale stabilization. This work combines the synergistic benefits of thermo-responsive and zwitterionic nanomaterials to synchronously enhance the chemical inhibitions and plugging performances in shale under harsh conditions. A novel thermoresponsive Janus nanosilica(TRJS) exhibiting zwitterionic character was synthesized, characterized,and assessed as shale stabilizer for WBDFs at high temperatures. Compared to pristine nanosilica(Si NP)and symmetrical thermo-responsive nanosilica(TRS), TRJS exhibited anti-polyelectrolyte behaviour, in which electrolyte ions screened the electrostatic attraction between the charged particles, potentially stabilizing nanomaterial in hostile shaly environments(i.e., up to saturated brine or API brine). Macroscopically, TRJS exhibited higher chemical inhibition than Si NP and TRS in brine, prompting a better capability to control pressure penetration. TRJS adsorbed onto the clay surface via chemisorption and hydrogen bonding, and the interactions became substantial in brine, according to the results of electrophoretic mobility, surface wettability, and X-ray diffraction. Thus, contributing to the firm trapping of TRJS into the nanopore structure of the shale, triggering the formation of a tight hydrophobic membrane over the shale surface from the outward hemisphere. Enhancing Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution through Electronic Structure and Wettability Adjustment of ZnIn2S4/Bi2O3 S-Scheme Heterojunction

The production of renewable fuels through water splitting via photocatalytic hydrogen production holds significant ***,the sluggish kinetics of hydrogen evolution and the inadequate water adsorption on photocatalysts present notable *** this study,we have devised a straightforward hydrothermal method to synthesize Bi_(2)O_(3)(BO)derived from metal‐organic frameworks(MOFs),loaded with flower-like ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(ZIS).This approach substantially enhances water adsorption and surface catalytic reactions,resulting in a remarkable enhancement of photocatalytic *** employing triethanolamine(TEOA)as a sacrificial agent,the hydrogen evolution rate achieved with 15%(mass fraction)ZIS loading on BO reached an impressive value of 1610μmol∙h^(−1)∙g^(−1),marking a 6.34-fold increase compared to that observed for bare ***,through density functional theory(DFT)and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)calculations,we have identified the reactions occurring at the ZIS/BO S-scheme heterojunction interface,including the identification of active sites for water adsorption and catalytic *** study provides valuable insights into the development of high-performance composite photocatalytic materials with tailored electronic properties and wettability.

Flexible light-emitting fibers and fabrics serve to bridge human–machine interactions. The desire for practical applications and the commercialization of flexible light-emitting fibers has accelerated structural progress and improvements. This review focuses on the structural design of light-emitting fibers and fabrics, starting with a summary of design principles, emission mechanisms, and structural evolution of coaxial structured light-emitting fibers. Subsequently, we explore recent advances in the helical structure design strategies that boost the mechanical sensitivity of light-emitting fibers. Following that, we analyze continuous preparation processes and the development of large-area intelligent light-emitting fabrics based on interwoven structures. Examples based on stiff and rigid inorganic-based lightemitting diodes integrated into flexible systems are also presented. Finally, we discuss the current challenges and future opportunities for light-emitting applications in the field of wearable and smart devices.
