Evidence for the involvement of NGF in human sperm motility

Motility is an important physiological characteristic of a mature sperm. Nerve growth factor (NGF) is a key protein for the survival, maintenance and development of the central and peripheral nervous systems. It has been shown that NGF and its receptors TrkA and p75 are widely expressed in the testis, accessory reproductive organ, and the epididymal sperms. These observation have shifted the attention to the role of NGF on male reproductive physiology. In the present study, we found that NGF remarkably increased testicular coefficient in rats subjected to unpredictable chronic mild stress. Furthermore, we investigated the role of NGF on human sperm motility in vitro by CASA. The results showed that the parameters of sperm motility after NGF treatment had significantly increased, the means of VAP, VSL, VCL, BCF and LIN were significantly increased 32% than those of NGF absence, the means of MAD, STR, ALH and WOB had no notable difference. In addition, NGF promotes the sperm motility in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Taken together, our findings suggest that NGF plays a promoted role in sperm motility.

为满足微纳操作系统对精密驱动技术的需求,本文提出了一种基于黏滑原理的小型精密运动平台。该平台将柔性铰链、惯性质量块以及弹性元件结合为独立的定子基座,并与压电叠堆、陶瓷球固连为定子,安装在平台基座底部,通过螺钉调节弹性元件端部垂直方向的位置,就可以改变定子与移动台间的预压力,进而获得最佳的驱动力。为研究黏滑驱动的运动机理,分析各参数对平台运动的影响,进行了力学建模;而摩擦力作为黏滑驱动的关键因素,为了能准确地表达黏滑驱动的摩擦机理,在力学建模中引入了LuGre摩擦模型,并利用Matlab/Simulink软件进行了仿真分析。设计加工的黏滑驱动平台的整体尺寸为40mm×40mm×18mm,质量为32g。试验表明:该平台最小可实现10nm的运动步长,速度最高可达2.5mm/s,行程为22mm。

正常结肠壁内FAAH的表达及意义

目的:探讨FAAH在正常结肠壁内表达及意义.方法:收集2006-2008年由于结肠造瘘和结肠息肉等在我院行结肠手术的患者16例正常结肠组织,其中男10例,女6例.取其结肠标本,其中升结肠5例,降结肠3例,乙状结肠8例,分别采用免疫组织化学、Western blot及RT-PCR检测FAAH在正常结肠组织中的表达,并通过免疫荧光法对比FAAH与CB1在正常结肠壁中的表达.结果:在升结肠、降结肠及乙状结肠肠壁肌间神经元胞质内均可见阳性染色,同时在结肠黏膜层内的肠腺体以及吸收细胞的胞质中也可见明显阳性染色,且染色强度在各组基本相同,统计学差异不显著(P>0.05).Western blot的结果与免疫组织化学一致,灰度分析结果显示统计学差异不显著(P>0.05).RT-PCR显示,各组样本中均可检测到不同数量的FAAH拷贝数,每微克RNA中FAAH cDNA的拷贝数相比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);免疫荧光法提示在肠壁肌间神经元胞质中红、绿色荧光均可见,两者位置相近,分布呈互补趋势.结论:正常结肠壁中存在FAAH的表达,且各段肠管之间无差异,在肌间神经丛内FAAH的分布与CB1受体呈对应趋势,通过对大麻酚信号通路研究可能为功能性胃肠病的治疗提供新的手段.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-metal batteries （AZMBs） are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage systems due to their low cost and high ***,their performance and sustainability are significantly hindered by the sluggish desolvation kinetics at the electrode/electrolyte interface and the corresponding hydrogen evolution reaction where active water molecules tightly participate in the Zn（H2O）62+solvation ***,learnt from self-generated solid electrolyte interphase （SEI） in anodes,the dielectric but ion-conductive zinc niobate nanoparticles artificial layer is constructed on metallic Zn surface （ZNB@Zn）,acting as a rapid desolvation *** zincophilic and dielectric-conductive properties of ZNB layer accelerate interfacial desolvation/diffusion and suppress surface corrosion or dendrite formation,achieving uniform Zn plating/stripping behavior,as confirmed by electronic/optical microscopies and interface spectroscopical measurements together with theoretical ***,the as-prepared ZNB@Zn electrode exhibits excellent cycling stability of over 2000 h and robust reversibility （99.54%） even under high current density and depth of discharge ***,the assembled ZNB@Zn-based full cell displays high capacity-retention rate of 80.21%after 3000 cycles at 5 A g-1and outstanding rate performance up to 10 A *** large-areal pouch cell is stabilized for hundreds of cycles,highlighting the bright prospects of the dielectric but ion-conductive layer in further application of AZMBs.

Objective:Testosterone deficiency may be a risk factor for lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS),and there may be a causal ink between the emergence of LUTS and the incidence of late-onset hypogonadism(LOH).We perfomed an epidemiologic study to investigate the association between symptomatic late-onset hypogonadism(SLOH)and LUTS in middle-aged and elderly rural Chinese ***:A total of 965 men completed a questionnaire and underwent a detailed physical *** Aging Males'Symptoms(AMS)scale was used to assess SLOH,and the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS)questionnaire was used to assess *** reproductive hormone levels of testosterone,sex hormone-binding globulin(SHBG)and luteinizing hormone(LH)were ***:A total of 965 males(mean age:56.34±8.85,range:40-80 years)were recruited for the present study.A total of 20.93%(202/965)were diagnosed with SLOH.A total of 93.16%(899/965)had mild LUTS,5.18%(50/965)had moderate LUTS,and 1.66%(16/965)had severe *** SLOH patients,13.40%(27/202)and 3.90%(8/202)had moderate and severe LUTS,*** with severe LUTS had increased SHBG and LH compared with those with mild and moderate LUTS(P<0.01).Correlation analysis revealed that the AMS total score was positively correlated with the IPSS score(P<0.05).The prevalence of SLOH was significantly increased with LUTS severity In addition to the known effect of age,the results of mutiple regression analysis also showed that serum LH or SHBG appeared to have a weak link with SLOH and LUTS that requires etiological and biological clarification in our future ***:In this cross-sectional analysis of SLOH and LUTS,LUTS severity was significantly associated with hypogonadism ***,the prevalence of SLOH advanced with increasing LUTS *** SHBG or LH showed a positive correlation with SLOH and LUTS.

Transition metal-based nanomaterials have emerged as promising electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction（OER）. Considerable research efforts have shown that self-reconstruction occurs on these nanomaterials under operating conditions of OER process. However, most of them undergo incomplete reconstruction with limited thickness of reconstruction layer, leading to low component utilization and arduous exploration of real catalytic mechanism. Herein, we identify the dynamic behaviors in complete reconstruction of Co-based complexes during OER. The hollow phytic acid（PA） cross-linked CoFe-based complex nanoboxes with porous nanowalls are designed because of their good electrolyte penetration and mass transport ability, in favor of the fast and complete reconstruction. A series of experiment characterizations demonstrate that the reconstruction process includes the fast substitution of PA by OH-to form Co（Fe）(OH)xand subsequent potential-driven oxidation to Co（Fe）OOH. The obtained CoFeOOH delivers a low overpotential of 290 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2and a long-term *** experiment results together with theory calculations reveal that the Fe incorporation can result in the electron rearrangement of reconstructed CoFeOOH and optimization of their electronic structure,accounting for the enhanced OER activity. The work provides new insights into complete reconstruction of metal-based complexes during OER and offers guidelines for rational design of high-performance electrocatalysts.

Understanding the effect of intermolecular interaction on the growth dynamic of active layers is critical for advancing organic solar cells(OSCs). However, the diverse structure of donors and acceptors makes the research challenging. Additives with customizable structures and properties could simplify this complexity. Herein, we meticulously tailor two additives of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene(EDOT) and 2,5-dibromo-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene(DBEDOT), possessing distinct intermolecular interaction features to elaborate the inherent relationship. It is found that varied interaction strengths can alter film formation processes. The enhanced intermolecular interaction between the DBEDOT and non-fullerene acceptor BTP-e C9-4F results in pre-aggregation and longer crystallization duration of BTP-e C9-4F, facilitating the formation of films with compact molecular packing and decent phase separation. Thus, exciton dissociation and charge transport become more efficient. Finally, devices processed with DBEDOT exhibit a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 19.35% in small-area OSCs and 14.11% in bladecoated 5 cm × 5 cm organic solar mini-modules. Especially, OSCs can maintain 80% of their initial efficiency after continuous annealing at 85 °C for over 2,100 h.
