Construction of Ultrathin Layered MXene-TiN heterostructure Enabling Favorable Catalytic Ability for High-Areal-Capacity Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Catalysis has been regarded as an effective strategy to mitigate sluggish reaction kinetics and serious shuttle effect of Li-S batteries.herein,a spherical structure consists of ultrathin layered Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)-TiN heterostructures(MX-TiN)through in-situ nitridation method is reported.Through controllable nitridation,highly conductive TiN layer grew on the surface and close coupled with interior MXene to form unique 2D heterostructures.The ultrathin heterostructure with only several nanometers in thickness enables outstanding ability to shorten electrons diffusion distance during electrochemical reactions and enlarge active surface with abundant adsorptive and catalytic sites.Moreover,the(001)surface of TiN is dominated by metallic Ti-3d states,which ensures fast transmitting electrons from high conductive MX-TiN matrix and thus guarantees efficient catalytic performance.Calculations and experiments demonstrate that polysulfides are strongly immobilized on MX-TiN,meanwhile the bidirectional reaction kinetics are catalytically enhanced by reducing the conversion barrier between liquid LiPSs and solid Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)S.As a result,the S/MX-TiN cathode achieves excellent long-term cyclability with extremely low-capacity fading rate of 0.022%over 1000 cycles and remarkable areal capacity of 8.27 mAh cm^(−2) at high sulfur loading and lean electrolytes.

Asymptotic normality of error density estimator in stationary and explosive autoregressive models

In this paper,we consider the limit distribution of the error density function estima-tor in the rst-order autoregressive models with negatively associated and positively associated random errors.Under mild regularity assumptions,some asymptotic normality results of the residual density estimator are obtained when the autoregressive models are stationary process and explosive process.In order to illustrate these results,some simulations such as con dence intervals and mean integrated square errors are provided in this paper.It shows that the residual density estimator can replace the density\estimator"which contains errors.

The oyster mushroom(Pleurotus spp.)is one of the most widely cultivated mushroom species globally.The present study investigated the effect of synbiotics on the growth and quality of Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus pulmonarius.Different synbiotics formulations were applied by spraying mushroom samples daily and measuring their growth parameters,yield,biological efficiency,proximate composition,mineral content,total phenolic content(TPC),and diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging activity.Results demonstrated that the most significant yield of oyster mushrooms was harvested from synbiotics sprayed with inulin and Lactobacillus casei(56.92 g).Likewise,the highest biological efficiency obtained with a similar synbiotic was 12.65%.Combining inulin and L.casei was the most effective method of improving the mushrooms'growth performance and nutrient content in both samples.Furthermore,synbiotics that combined inulin and L.casei resulted in the highest TPC(20.550 mg gallic acid equivalent(GAE)/g dry extract(DE))in white oyster mushrooms(P.ostreatus).In comparison,in grey mushroom(P.pulmonarius)the highest TPC was yielded by L.casei(1.098 mg GAE/g DE)followed by inulin and L.casei(1.079 mg GAE/g DE).The DPPH results indicated that the oyster mushroom could be an efficient antioxidant.The results revealed that applying synbiotics improved the mushrooms'quality by increasing their antioxidant capacity with higher amounts of phenolic compounds and offering better health benefits with the increased levels of mineral elements.Together,these studies demonstrated the potential of using synbiotics as a biofertilizer,which is helpful for mushroom cultivation;therefore,it might solve the challenge of inconsistent quality mushroom growers face.

Direct observation of oxygen vacancy formation and migration over ceria surface by in situ environmental transmission electron microscopy

The extremely high structural tolerance of ceria to oxygen vacancies(Ov)has made it a desirable catalytic material for the hydrocarbon oxidation to chemicals and pharmaceuticals and the reduction of gaseous pollutants.It is proposed that the formation and diffusion of Ov originate from its outstanding reduction property.However,the formation and diffusion process of Ov over the surface of ceria at the atomic level is still unknown.herein,the structural and valence evolution of CeO_(2)(111)surfaces in reductive,oxidative and vacuum environments from room temperature up to 700℃was studied with in situ aberration-corrected environmental transmission electron microscopy(ETEM)experiments.Ov is found to form under a high vacuum at elevated temperatures;however,the surface can recover to the initial state through the adsorption of oxygen atoms in an oxygen-contained environment.Furthermore,in hydrogen environment,the step-CeO_(2)(111)surface is not stable at elevated temperatures;thus,the steps tend to be eliminated with increasing temperature.Combined with first-principles density function calculations(DFT),it is proposed that O-terminated surfaces would develop in a hypoxic environment due to the dynamic diffusion of Ov from the outer surface to the subsurface.Furthermore,in a reductive environment,H2 facilitates the formation and diffusion of Ov while Ce-terminated surfaces develope.These results reveal dynamic atomic-scale interplay between the nanoceria surface and gas,thereby providing fundamental insights into the Ov-dependent reaction of nano-CeO_(2) during catalytic processes.

Understand the Temperature Sensing Behavior of Solid-state Polymerized PEDOT Hybrid Based on X-ray Scattering Studies

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) is one of the most successful conductive polymers that recently has been used in wearable sensors for human health monitoring. In this work, we prepared a series of PEDOT hybrids consisting of PEDOT, sodium poly(styrene sulfonate)(PSSNa) and polyethylene oxide(PEO), and their preparation could be scaled-up via an adapted solid-state polymerization process. The resistance of the as-prepared PEDOT:PSS/PEO hybrid shows clear temperature response, i.e., it decreases almost linearly with the temperature increase. To understand this phenomenon, the in situ synchrotron radiation wide-and small-angle X-ray scattering(WAXS/SAXS) characterizations were undertaken to study the temperature-dependent microstructure change of the PEDOT:PSS/PEO hybrid. It demonstrated that PEDOT formed conductive paths in the hybrids, which were not destroyed by the PEO crystallization. As temperature increased, the PEO crystals' melting and the accompanying reorganization of PEDOT chains endowed the hybrid sample temperature responsiveness. Based on these fundamental knowledges, the hybrid materials were used to fabricate flexible wearable sensor that showing temperature sensing performance with an accuracy of 1 ℃. These findings shed lights on the scalable manufacturing of wearable sensors for body temperature monitoring.

The conventional computing architecture faces substantial chal-lenges,including high latency and energy consumption between memory and processing units.In response,in-memory computing has emerged as a promising alternative architecture,enabling computing operations within memory arrays to overcome these limitations.Memristive devices have gained significant attention as key components for in-memory computing due to their high-density arrays,rapid response times,and ability to emulate biological synapses.Among these devices,two-dimensional(2D)material-based memristor and memtransistor arrays have emerged as particularly promising candidates for next-generation in-memory computing,thanks to their exceptional performance driven by the unique properties of 2D materials,such as layered structures,mechanical flexibility,and the capability to form heterojunctions.This review delves into the state-of-the-art research on 2D material-based memristive arrays,encompassing critical aspects such as material selection,device perfor-mance metrics,array structures,and potential applications.Furthermore,it provides a comprehensive overview of the current challenges and limitations associated with these arrays,along with potential solutions.The primary objective of this review is to serve as a significant milestone in realizing next-generation in-memory computing utilizing 2D materials and bridge the gap from single-device characterization to array-level and system-level implementations of neuromorphic computing,leveraging the potential of 2D material-based memristive devices.

BACKGROUND Jianpi Gushen Huayu Decoction(JPGS)has been used to clinically treat diabetic nephropathy(DN)for many years.However,the protective mechanism of JPGS in treating DN remains unclear.AIM To evaluate the therapeutic effects and the possible mechanism of JPGS on DN.METHODS We first evaluated the therapeutic potential of JPGS on a DN mouse model.We then investigated the effect of JPGS on the renal metabolite levels of DN mice using non-targeted metabolomics.Furthermore,we examined the effects of JPGS on c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)/P38-mediated apoptosis and the inflammatory responses mediated by toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3).RESULTS The ameliorative effects of JPGS on DN mice included the alleviation of renal injury and the control of inflammation and oxidative stress.Untargeted metabolomic analysis revealed that JPGS altered the metabolites of the kidneys in DN mice.A total of 51 differential metabolites were screened.Pathway analysis results indicated that nine pathways significantly changed between the control and model groups,while six pathways significantly altered between the model and JPGS groups.Pathways related to cysteine and methionine metabolism;alanine,tryptophan metabolism;aspartate and glutamate metabolism;and riboflavin metabolism were identified as the key pathways through which JPGS affects DN.Further experimental validation showed that JPGS treatment reduced the expression of TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 pathways and JNK/P38 pathway-mediated apoptosis related factors.CONCLUSION JPGS could markedly treat mice with streptozotocin(STZ)-induced DN,which is possibly related to the regulation of several metabolic pathways found in kidneys.Furthermore,JPGS could improve kidney inflammatory responses and ameliorate kidney injuries in DN mice via the TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway and inhibit JNK/P38 pathwaymediated apoptosis in DN mice.

Aero-Hydro-Elastic-Servo Modeling and Dynamic Response Analysis of A Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine Under Different Operating Scenarios

This paper constructs a coupled aero-hydro-elastic-servo simulation framework for a monopile offshore wind turbine(OWT).In this framework,a detailed multi-body dynamics model of the monopile OWT including the gearbox,blades,tower and other components(nacelle,hub,bedplate,etc.)has been explicitly established.The effects of pile−soil interaction,controller and operational conditions on the turbine dynamic responses are studied systematically in time domain and frequency domain.The results show that(1)a comprehensive drivetrain model has the capability to provide a more precise representation of the complex dynamic characteristics exhibited by drivetrain components,which can be used as the basis for further study on the dynamic characteristics of the drivetrain.(2)The pile−soil interaction can influence the wind turbine dynamic responses,particularly under the parked condition.(3)The effect of the pile−soil interaction on tower responses is more significant than that on blade responses.(4)The use of the controller can substantially affect the rotor characteristics,which in turn influences the turbine dynamic responses.(5)The tower and blade displacements under the operational condition are much larger than those under the parked condition.The model and methodology presented in this study demonstrate potential for examining complex dynamic behaviors of the monopile OWTs.To ensure accuracy and precision,it is imperative to construct a detailed model of the wind turbine system,while also taking into account simulation efficiency.

Correlation and Pathway Analysis of the Carbon,Nitrogen,and Phosphorus in Soil-Microorganism-Plant with Main Quality Components of Tea(Camellia sinensis)

The contents of carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)in soil-microorganisms-plant signiﬁcantly affect tea quality by altering the main quality components of tea,such as tea polyphenols,amino acids,and caffeine.However,few studies have quantiﬁed the effects of these factors on the main quality components of tea.The study aimed to explore the interactions of C,N,and P in soil-microorganisms-plants and the effects of these factors on the main quality components of tea by using the path analysis method.The results indicated that(1)The contents of C,N,and P in soil,microorganisms,and tea plants were highly correlated and collinear,and showed signiﬁcant correlations with the main quality components of tea.(2)Optimal regression equations were established to esti-mate tea polyphenol,amino acid,catechin,caffeine,and water extract content based on C,N,and P contents in soil,microorganisms,and tea plants(R^(2)=0.923,0.726,0.954,0.848,and 0.883,respectively).(3)Pathway analysis showed that microbial biomass phosphorus(MBP),root phosphorus,branch nitrogen,and microbial biomass carbon(MBC)were the largest direct impact factors on tea polyphenol,catechin,water extracts,amino acid,and caffeine content,respectively.Leaf carbon,root phosphorus,and leaf nitrogen were the largest indirect impact factors on tea polyphenol,catechin,and water extract content,respectively.Leaf carbon indirectly affected tea polyphenol content mainly by altering MBP content.Root phosphorus indirectly affected catechin content mainly by altering soil organic carbon content.Leaf nitrogen indirectly affected water extract content mainly by altering branch nitrogen content.The research results provide the scientiﬁc basis for reasonable fertilization in tea gardens and tea quality improvement.

Versatile photonic molecule switch in multimode microresonators

Harnessing optical supermode interaction to construct artificial photonic molecules has uncovered a series of fundamental optical phenomena analogous to atomic physics.Previously,the distinct energy levels and interactions in such two-level systems were provided by coupled microresonators.The reconfigurability is limited,as they often require delicate external field stimuli or mechanically altering the geometric factors.These highly specific approaches also limit potential applications.here,we propose a versatile on-chip photonic molecule in a multimode microring,utilizing a flexible regulation methodology to dynamically control the existence and interaction strength of spatial modes.The transition between single/multi-mode states enables the“switched-off/on”functionality of the photonic molecule,supporting wider generalized applications scenarios.In particular,“switched-on”state shows flexible and multidimensional mode splitting control in aspects of both coupling strength and phase difference,equivalent to the a.***.and d.c.Stark effect.“Switched-off”state allows for perfect low-loss single-mode transition(Qi~10 million)under an ultra-compact bend size(FSR~115 GHz)in a foundry-based silicon microring.It breaks the stereotyped image of the FSR-Q factor trade-off,enabling ultra-wideband and high-resolution millimeter-wave photonic operations.Our demonstration provides a flexible and portable solution for the integrated photonic molecule system,extending its research scope from fundamental physics to real-world applications such as nonlinear optical signal processing and sixth-generation wireless communication.
