The effects of matrix silicate and experimental conditions on the determination of iron in flame atomic absorption spectrometry （FAAS） were investigated. It was found that boric acid as a matrix modifier obviously eliminated silicate interference. Under the optimum operating conditions, the determination results of iron in layered crystal sodium disilicate and sodium silicate samples by FAAS were satisfactory. The linear range of calibration curve is 0-10.5 μ***^-1, the relative standard deviation of method is 1.2%-2.2%, the recovery of added iron is 96.0%- 101%, the sensitivity is 0.19 μ***^-l and the detection limit is 77 ***^-1. The effect of the determination of iron of the standard curve method, standard addition calibration and colorimetry method was the same, but the first has the merits of rapid sample preparation, reduced contamination risks and fast analysis.

The changes in crystalline properties of starch from Rhizoma Dioscorea by acid hydrolysis was characterized by X-Ray diffractometry （XRD）. The results revealed that the crystalline type of Rhizoma Dioscorea starch changed from C-type to A-type after 16 days of the acid hydrolysis. This phenomenon was different from that of other starches subjected to the acid hydrolysis. The results revealed that the B-polymorphs of C-type starch constituted the amorphous regions while the crystalline areas were mainly composed of A-polymorphs. The degree of crystallinity of the acid-thinned starch increased gradually with the time of acid hydrolysis.

Expression of ΔDNMT3B Variants and Its Association with Estrogen/Progestogen Receptor Status in Breast Cancer

Objective： Our previous study has showed that △DNMT3B is the predominant form of DNMT3B in non-small cell lung cancer （NSCLC）. In this study, we aimed to explore the expression patterns of the △DNMT3B variants in breast cancer and to identify whether the pattern was similar to that in NSCLC or not and its clinical significance. Methods： Expression of seven △DNMT3B variants in 59 breast cancer and the corresponding normal tissue was measured using RT-PCR. The correlations between the expressions of △DNMT3B variants and the clinical parameters including ER/PR status, clincopathologic feature and survivals were analyzed. Results： There were significant differences in the expression ratios of △DNMT3B1-7 variants between breast cancer tissues and normal tissues （P〈0.001）. The positive ratio of △DNMT3B1-7 variants were 66%, 71%, 17%, 51%, 76.2%, 50% and 61% in tumor tissue, respectively; while 16%, 8.4%, 3.38%, 3.38%, 11.8%, 13.5% and 5.08% in the corresponding normal tissue, which was different from the pattern of △DNMT3B1-7 expression in NSCLC （62%, 76%, 2.5%, 46%, 18%, 27% and 16% in tumor tissue, respectively; while 18%, 11%, 0%, 3.3%, 0%, 0% and 0% in normal lung tissue, respectively; P〈0.0001）. Expressions of △DNMT3B2, 3B4 and 3B7 were higher in the patients with negative estrogen receptor （ER） than those with positive estrogen receptor （P=0.035, P=0.0141 and P=0.0219, respectively）. △DNMT3B7 expression was higher for the patients with negative progestogen receptor （PR） compared to those with positive progestogen receptor （P=0.0379）. Expression ratio of △DNMT3B5 in stage Ⅲ tumors is lower than that in stage Ⅰ/Ⅱ ones （P= 0.041）. But we did not find any relation between the △DNMT3B variants and the patients＇ survival. Conclusion： The pattern of △DNMT3B variants in breast cancer is different from that in NSCLC. Expressions of △DNMT3B2, 3B4 and 3B7 are associated with estrogen receptors status. Artificial intelligence generated content(AIGC)has emerged as an indispensable tool for producing large-scale content in various forms,such as images,thanks to the significant role that AI plays in imitation and ***,interpretability and controllability remain *** AI methods often face challenges in producing images that are both flexible and controllable while considering causal relationships within the *** address this issue,we have developed a novel method for causal controllable image generation(CCIG)that combines causal representation learning with bi-directional generative adversarial networks(GANs).This approach enables humans to control image attributes while considering the rationality and interpretability of the generated images and also allows for the generation of counterfactual *** key of our approach,CCIG,lies in the use of a causal structure learning module to learn the causal relationships between image attributes and joint optimization with the encoder,generator,and joint discriminator in the image generation *** doing so,we can learn causal representations in image’s latent space and use causal intervention operations to control image *** conduct extensive experiments on a real-world dataset,*** experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of CCIG.

Protein kinases C （PKCs）, a big family including 12 isoenzymes, are divided into three major groups according to the variability of their regulatory domains^1.2 The classical PKCs （cPKC） including PKCα, PKCβI, PKCβ2, and PKC7 need calcium, phosphatidylserine, and diacylglycerol or phorbol esters for full activation. The novel PKCs （nPKC） including PKCδ, PKCε, PKCη, PKCθ, and PKC, do not require calcium for their activation. The third group is the atypical PKCs （aPKC） including PKCζ, PKCλ and PKC~ whose activation depends on phosphatidylserine but not on diacylglycerol, calcium or phorbol esters. The differences in function of specific PKC isoforms are mainly due to their different subcellular localization, activation or inhibition by different stimuli, and transcriptional regulation.

This paper described a rare case of adenomyoma of common bile duct. The case is a 51-year-old man who was hospitalized for yellow color skin and sclera and itching for 2 mo without abdominal pain. Nothing special was found in physical examination except yellowish skin and sclera. The clinical presentation and Computerized Tomography (CT),Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP),and ultrasonography suspected a tumor of the distal bile duct. The patient was treated successfully by pancreaticoduodenectomy. Histologically,the lesion consisted of adenoid and myofibrous tissue and moderate atypia. The immunophenotype of the epithelial component was cytokeratin 7+/cytokeratin 20-. The patient has been well without any evidence of recurrence for 12 mo since his operation.

AIM:To compare postoperative quality of life (QOL) in patients with gastric cancer treated by esophagogastrostomy reconstruction after proximal ***: QOL assessments that included functional outcomes (a 24-item survey about treatment-specific symptoms) and health perception (Spitzer QOL Index) were performed in 149 patients with gastric cancer in the upper third of the stomach, who had received proximal gastrectomy with additional ***: Fifty-four patients underwent reconstruction by esophagogastric anterior wall end-to-side anastomosis combined with pyloroplasty (EA group); 45 patients had reconstruction by esophagogastric posterior wall end-to-side anastomosis (EP group); and 50 patients had reconstruction by esophagogastric end-to-end anastomosis (EE group). The EA group showed the best postoperative QOL, such as recovery of body weight, less discomfort after meals, and less heart burn or belching at 6 and 24 mo postoperatively. However, the survival rates, surgical results and Spitzer QOL index were similar among the three ***: Postoperative QOL was better in the EA than EP or EE group. To improve QOL after proximal gastrectomy for upper third gastric cancer, the EA procedure using a stapler is safe and feasible for esophagogastrostomy.

BACKGROUND Cerebral infarction(CI)is characterized by a high prevalence,disability,and *** or improper treatment greatly affects patient *** To explore the drug efficacy of aspirin plus edaravone and to explore their effect on quality of life(QOL),anxiety and depression in CI *** We retrospectively analyzed the records of 124 CI patients treated between june 2019 and February 2021 who were assigned to an observation group(OG)(combination therapy of aspirin and edaravone,65 patients)or a control group(CG)(aspirin monotherapy,59 patients).The therapeutic effects,pre-and posttreatment National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores,activities of daily living,degree of cognitive impairment,protein levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),neuron-specific enolase(NSE)and S-100B,occurrence of adverse reactions,and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin(IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αwere evaluated,detected and compared between the two ***,posttreatment QOL,anxiety,and depression were assessed by the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short Form Health Survey Scale,Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),and Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),*** Compared with the CG,the OG had markedly better therapeutic effects,greater improvements in activities of daily living,and better alleviation in cognitive dysfunction after treatment,as well as lower posttreatment NIHSS scores and serum NSE,GFAP,S-100B,hs-CRP,IL-6,and TNF-αlevels;the OG was similar to the CG in terms of adverse reactions but was better than the CG in terms of posttreatment QOL;and the OG also had lower SDS and SAS scores than the CG after *** Aspirin plus edaravone had a good curative effect on *** can reverse cranial nerve damage in patients,improve neurological function and prognosis,and alleviate inflammation,anxiety,and depression;thus,it is considered safe and worthy of clinical application.

Mg-Al-hydrotalcite with alkaline sites protects Ni/KIT-6 from formation of amorphous coke in glycerol steam reforming via tailoring reaction intermediates

During steam reforming,the performance of a catalyst and amount/property of coke are closely related to reaction intermediates reaching surface of a ***,modification of reaction intermediates by placing Mg-Al-hydrotalcite above Ni/KIT-6 catalyst in steam reforming of glycerol was conducted at 300 to 600°*** results revealed that the catalytic activity of Ni/KIT-6 in the lower bed was enhanced with either Mg1-Al5-hydrotalcite(containing more acidic sites)or Mg5-Al1-hydrotalcite(containing more alkaline sites)as upper-layer *** in situ infrared characterization of steam reforming demonstrated that Mg-Al-hydrotalcite catalyzed the deoxygenation of glycerol,facilitating the reforming of the partially deoxygenated intermediates over Ni/***-Al-hydrotalcite as protective catalyst,however,did not protect the Ni/KIT-6 from formation of more ***,this did not lead to further deactivation of Ni/KIT-6 while Mg5-Al1-hydrotalcite even substantially enhanced the catalytic stability,even though the coke was much more significant than that in the use of single Ni/KIT-6(52.7%vs.28.6%).The reason beneath this was change of the property of coke from more aliphatic to more ***5-Al1-hydrotalcite catalyzed dehydration of glycerol,producing dominantly reaction intermediates bearing C=C,which formed the catalytic coke of with carbon nanotube as the main form with smooth outer walls as well as higher aromaticity,C/H ratio,crystallinity,crystal carbon size,thermal stability,and resistivity toward oxidation on Ni/KIT-6 in the lower *** comparison,the abundance of acidic sites on Mg1-Al5-hydrotalcite catalyzed the formation of more oxygen-containing species,leading to the formation of carbon nanotubes of rough surface on Ni/KIT-6.
