Cognitive reappraisal improves the social decision-making performance of suicide attempters

A growing body of evidence suggests that emotion regulation (ER) plays a crucial role in the decision-making (DM) process of suicide attempters (SA). Cognitive reappraisal (CR), an emotion regulation strategy that reinterprets emotional situations to alter physiological and emotional responses, has been studied widely. Whereas, its effect on SA is yet to be explored. The present study attempted to use CR to modulate ER in SA to improve their DM performance, and explore the physiological mechanisms underlying this process. Scale scores under natural responses and after using the CR strategy, as well as behavioral and electroencephalographic (EEG) data from subjects were recorded during the classical DM task - ultimatum game (UG) paradigm. 52 patients with psychiatric disorders (including 26 SA and 26 non-suicide attempters) and 22 healthy controls (HC) performed in UG. Scale results showed that negative emotional experience scores decreased in all three groups after CR, but SA showed less improvement compared to HC. The behavioral results showed that acceptance of SA significantly increased after CR in both fair and unfair alternatives in the UG task, suggesting that CR can improve DM performance of SA. Besides, we extracted the late-positive potential (LPP) and theta-gamma coupling (TGC) of EEG for analysis. The LPP of SA was significantly higher when facing unfair alternatives than in fair ones, reflecting the fact that SA showed stronger negative emotions in the face of unfair situations. In addition, SA exhibited TGC diminished in frontotemporal regions when facing unfair allocation schemes, which demonstrated the existence of cognitive impairment in SA. This study verified the feasibility of CR for the moderation of DM ability in SA and provided new ideas for early intervention of suicidal behavior. © 2024

【目的】建立利用SCAR标记技术鉴定番茄花叶病毒病抗性基因Tm-2^2的技术体系,开展分子标记辅助选择育种,选育加工番茄抗病品种。【方法】以6份To MV表现型鉴定已知的加工番茄材料为试材,选用与Tm-2^2基因连锁的SCAR标记,通过PCR扩增和Hind III酶切鉴定有无Tm-2^2基因,并将其应用于加工番茄品种选育。【结果】抗感试材均产生950 bp和1 100 bp的特异片段,纯合抗病基因型无Hind III酶切位点,杂合抗病基因型和感病基因型有Hind III酶切位点,酶切结果为：纯合抗病1 100 bp＋950 bp、杂合抗病1 100 bp＋950 bp＋500 bp＋300 bp＋150 bp、感病基因1 100 bp＋500 bp＋300 bp＋150 bp。【结论】通过酶切产生的特异性片段就可鉴定出Tm-2^2基因,成本低,操作不受时间、地域、发育时期的限制,提高了选择的准确性,加快了育种进程。

Intrinsic stretchability is a promising attribute of polymer organic solar cells(OSCs).However,rigid molecular blocks typically exhibit poor tensile properties,rendering polymers vulnerable to mechanical *** this study,we introduce a different approach utilizing all-small-molecule donors and acceptors to fabricate stretchable *** elastomer,styrene-b-ethylene-butylene-styrene(SEBS),was embedded to modulate film crystallization and *** effectively confines the growth process of donors and acceptors,leading to enhancement of the crystallization quality,thus contributing to enhanced device ***,SEBS can absorb and release mechanical stress during stretching,thereby preventing mechanical degradation of donors and *** mechanical properties of the OSCs were significantly improved by the incorporation of ***,the crack-onset strain increased from 1.03% to 5.99% with SEBS *** findings present a straightforward strategy for achieving stretchable OSCs using all small molecules,offering a different perspective for realizing stretchable devices.

Transmembrane protein 176B promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition in colorectal cancer through inflammasome inhibition

BACKGROUND Activation of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),a pivotal process in tumor metastasis and evasion,as well as the NLRP3 inflammasome,both promote colorectal cancer(CRC)*** studies have shown that Transmembrane protein 176B(TMEM176B)regulates NLRP3 and promotes CRC malignant *** To investigate the role of TMEM176B in modulating NLRP3 inflammasome and its implications on EMT and tumor progression in *** CRC in situ mouse and co-cultured cell models were established using CT26 cells,BALB/c mice,and primary cultured mouse natural killer(NK)*** hairpin RNA knocked down TMEM176B and NLRP3 expression in CT26 *** imaging,Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling assays,immunohistochemistry staining,flow cytometry,and molecular assays were used to investigate the effects of TMEM176B knockdown on the NLRP3 inflammasome in NK cells to assess tumor metastasis,apoptosis,and EMT *** Silencing TMEM176B in CRC mice significantly reduced tumor metastasis,proliferation,and EMT,while activating apoptosis,NLRP3 inflammasome,and NK cell ***,silencing TMEM176B in co-cultured cell models inhibited cell migration and invasion,and promoted *** interference of NLRP3 reversed these effects by modulating key proteins such as phosphorylated nuclear factor kappa B subunit 1 p65,matrix metallopeptidase 9,and transforming growth factor-β.CONCLUSION This study highlights the critical role of TMEM176B/NLRP3 in CRC progression and provides a basis for targeting this axis as a novel therapeutic approach to manage CRC progression and metastasis.

Pressure control in deep shale gas horizontal wells can reduce the stress sensitivity of hydraulic fractures and improve the estimated ultimate recovery(EUR).In this study,a hydraulic fracture stress sensitivity model is proposed to characterize the effect of pressure drop rate on fracture ***,a production prediction model is introduced accounting for a non-uniform hydraulic fracture conductivity *** results reveal that increasing the fracture conductivity leads to a rapid daily production increase in the early ***,above 0.50 D·cm,a further increase in the fracture conductivity has a limited effect on shale gas production *** initial production is lower under pressure-controlled conditions than that under *** extended pressure control durations,the cumulative production initially increases and then *** a fracture conductivity of 0.10 D·cm,the increase in production output under controlled-pressure conditions is~35%.For representative deep shale gas wells(Southern Sichuan,China),if the pressure drop rate under controlled-pressure conditions is reduced from 0.19 to 0.04 MPa/d,the EUR increase for 5 years of pressure-controlled production is 41.0 million,with an increase percentage of~29%.

Controllable chaos in the coupled waveguide-optomechanical system with phase shifter

We theoretically investigate chaotic dynamics in an optomechanical system composed of a whispering-gallery-mode(WGM) microresonator and a sensor. We find that tuning the optical phase using a phase shifter and modifying the coupling strength via a unidirectional waveguide(IWG) can induce chaotic motion. The underlying reason for this phenomenon is that adjusting the phase and coupling strength via the phase shifter and IWG bring the system close to an exceptional point(EP), where field localization dynamically enhances the optomechanical nonlinearity, leading to the generation of chaotic motion. In addition, due to the sensitivity of chaos to phase in the vicinity of the EP, we propose a theoretical scheme to measure the optical phase perturbations using chaos. Our work may offer an alternative approach to chaos generation with current experimental technology and provide theoretical guidance for optical signal processing and chaotic secure communication.
