In this study, we investigate two-dimensional patterns generated by chemotaxis reaction-diffusion systems. We numerically examine the Keller-Segel models with the volume-filling aggregation term and the receptor aggregation term in two dimensions. Spotted, striped and reversed spotted patterns are obtained as stable motionless equi- librium patterns. The relative stability of these patterns is studied numerically on the basis of the derived free energy. The intuitive understanding of these generated patterns and the relation with three-dimensional patterns are also discussed.

Leading-edge supercomputers,such as the K computer,have generated a vast amount of simulation results,and most of these datasets were stored on the file system for the post-hoc analysis such as *** this work,we first investigated the data generation trends of the K computer by analyzing some operational log data *** verified a tendency of generating large amounts of distributed files as simulation outputs,and in most cases,the number of files has been proportional to the number of utilized computational nodes,that is,each computational node producing one or more *** that the computational cost of visualization tasks is usually much smaller than that required for large-scale numerical simulations,a flexible data input/output(I/O)management mechanism becomes highly useful for the post-hoc visualization and *** this work,we focused on the xDMlib data management library,and its flexible data I/O mechanism in order to enable flexible data loading of big computational climate simulation *** the proposed approach,a pre-processing is executed on the target distributed files for generating a light-weight metadata necessary for the elaboration of the data assignment mapping used in the subsequent data loading *** evaluated the proposed approach by using a 32-node visualization cluster,and the K *** the inevitable performance penalty associated with longer data loading time,when using smaller number of processes,there is a benefit for avoiding any data replication via copy,conversion,or *** addition,users will be able to freely select any number of nodes,without caring about the number of distributed files,for the post-hoc visualization and analysis purposes.

According to grade-tonnage diagrams of nickel and zinc deposits, their critical grades are 0.4 % and 3. 4 %, respectively, and hence the former resources can be considered optimistic and the latter pessimistic. The grade-tonnage diagram of gold deposits is convex downwards suggesting that the critical grade is 1 X 10-6 in the low-grade part. The ore value (OV)-tonnage diagram of all deposits In the world consists of three parts: high, middle and low vain f classes. The enrichment ratio (ER)-tonnage diagram of all deposits in the world ho consists of three parts: high, middle and low ratio *** quality categories defined by ER and OV are characterized by some keywords indicating deposit types as follows: category RH (high ER-high OV: 0. 7 %) by 'unconformity' and 'Mississippi Val-ley', category HM (high ER-middle: OV: 0.7 %) by 'vein', category ML (middle ER-low OV: 0 %) by 'sandstone', 'stockwork' and' dissemination', category LM by 'orthomagmatic',' laterite',komatiite and ' chemical', and category LL by 'porphyry', 'dissemination' and 'placer'. Category MM is not characterized by any keyword. If the commodities of a deposit are defined by both the enrichment ratio and the ore value, the defined commodities are relatively coincident for gold and nickel,but different for copper, silver and zinc, and greatly different for molybdenum and lead. Deposits containing lead and/or zinc are complimentary. If the commodity Ph+Zn is applied, most lead or zinc deposits are classified as Ph+Zu by both definitions. Accessory metals are commonly expected for deposits of kuroko-type zinc, epithermal silver, massive sulfide-type zinc and volcanogenic zinc, but uncommon for deposits of orthomagmatic chromium, chemically precipitated copper and sandstone-type uranium.

Study on the Cultivation of <i>Agaricus blazei</i>(Almond Mushroom) Grown on Compost Mixed with Selected Agro-Residues

Dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical solar cells of large area are fabricated using highly conducting and optically transparent glass consisting of an inner layer of indium-tin oxide and an outer layer of fluorine doped tin oxide. A method is described for the deposition of nanocrystalline films of TiO consisting of large and small median size particles (30 and 5 nm respectively) which promote high porosity and light scattering. A cell of area 32 cm converted AM 1.5 100 mWcm"2 simulated sunlight into electrical power at an efficiency of 5.5%.

The Agaricus blazei strain (KUMB 1221) from Forest Production Control Laboratory, Kyushu University was grown on the basal media of compost mixed with selected agro-residues (sawdust, woodchips and corncob) in the ratio of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% (by weight). The data was collected on the colony diameter of mycelial growth, days required for spawn run (colonization), days required for primordial formation, whiteness measurement, days required for fruit body formation, number, size and fresh weight of mushrooms, biological efficiency (BE) and mushroom production (MP). It was observed that the mycelial growth showed two types of mycelia according the level of mycelial density;compact (C) and somewhat compact (SC). The fastest spawn run (17 days) was found in woodchips (50%) among all the different treatments while the least spawn run took 26 days in corncob (75%). Sawdust substrates promoted longer days for primordial formation and fruit body development, if compared with woodchips substrates and corncob substrates. With regard to yield, 100%, 75% and 50% mixture with compost were superior to 25% mixture with compost in each group of selected agro-residues and it indicated that adding more compost gave the increased yield. Interestingly, it was noted that mushroom size on compost (100%) was double to the mushroom size of other treatments. In conclusion, it was clearly showed that compost (100%), woodchips (25%) and corncob (25%) could produce better yields among all treatments, and it was also possible to obtain acceptable yields of good quality almond mushroom using main substrates of compost mixed with different agro-residues at various concentrations.

In this study, the authors prove the necessity for the remote island route which will face the crisis of continuation in the near future in Japan, and aims at showing the concrete policy for the continuation. The new policy which shares the reserve ship which uses the traffic ship with a capacity of 12 in addition to cooperation not only with the usual liner route entrepreneur but an occasional service entrepreneur or a passenger ship, and operates until now was proposed, and the validity was shown. In this paper, as approach of the beginning for materializing the policy, it is focused on the island of the inland sea where especially population is small, and the new policy using the craft from which Japan Coast Guard retired was proposed. By this, it does not depend only on the revenue grant money by the country or a municipal corporation, but maintenance of a remote island route is attained.

Initial testing of ohmic heating through double flux swing during electron cyclotron start-up in the QUEST spherical tokamak

This paper analyzes the general features at risk literacy and perception of university students in China’s mainland in the case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy （BSE）. The results show that:（1） There seem no obvious relationships between respondents’ knowledge about BSE and their risk identification;（2） Among different groups, the greatest divergence appears in the judgment about probability of risk while the smallest one in the trust in science and technology to avoid BSE;（3） Gender, family location, and the background of college and specialty may have influences on the judgment of hazard probability.

A power-supply system was developed for Ohmic heating(OH)to double×10^(18)the amount of change magnetic flux in the primary central solenoid(CS)on the QUEST spherical *** power supplies are connected with stacks of insulated-gate bipolar transistors,and sequentially operated to generate positive and negative CS *** bipolar power-supply system is controlled via a field-programmable gate array,which guarantees the safety of the entire system *** new OH system,assisted by electron cyclotron heating,enables the stable generation of plasma currents exceeding 100 k ***,the achieved electron density over the wide range in the major radial direction exceeds the cut-off density for one of the highpower microwave sources in *** strategy yields target plasmas for future experiments with the electron Bernstein wave.
