CONSPECTUS:Recently,supramolecular polymers(SPs),which depend on the formation of reversible bonds between monomers,have attracted attention as a class of materials that can overcome the potential environmental problems of conventional polymeric *** development of various supramolecular polymers is important not only for their direct application as materials but also because their unique polymerization processes and dynamic properties have a profound influence on the development of polymeric and small-molecule-based functional *** other words,by limiting the dimensionality of molecular assemblies to one dimension,we can discover the essential aspects of selfassembly and *** particular,supramolecular polymerization,in whichπ-electron-rich planar molecules are stacked one-dimensionally via multiple interactions,is interesting because it gives“π-stacked SPs”with one-dimensional crystal-like *** excellent intrinsic(internal)structural order ofπ-stacked SPs is difficult to observe in higher-order structures that exhibit only a monotonous linear ***,our research has shown that when internal structural order intrinsically generates curvature,the curvature appears as a major feature of the entire polymer *** intrinsic curvature allows the formation of diverse topologies such as toroids,random coils,waves,spirals,and helicoids usingπ-stacked SPs and also allows structural changes at the single-polymer-chain level along a topology-dependent energy *** other words,π-stacked SP-based nanomaterials could enable free control of the structure at the single-polymer-chain *** Account will focus on our research into curved supramolecular polymers(CSPs)during the last five *** are formed by the hydrogen bonding between barbituratecontainingπ-conjugated molecules to produce giant supramolecular *** first give an overview of the molecular design of the monomers required for the formation of CSP

Transmembrane serine protease 4 expression in the prognosis of radical resection for biliary tract cancer

Like other optical astrometric techniques,the Photographic Zenith Tube(PZT) has played a key role in the past observations of the Earth rotation,and it also has a potential to be applied to several other observations by taking advantage of automatic observations with self compensation of tilt of the *** here propose In-situ Lunar Orientation Measurement(ILOM) to study lunar rotational dynamics by direct observations of the lunar rotation from the lunar surface by using a small telescope like PZT with an accuracy of 1 milli-seconds of arc(1 mas) in the post-SELENE *** second application is to obtain local gravity field on the Earth by combining deflection of the vertical measured by PZT and the position measured by Global Positioning System(GPS) or Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS).The accuracy required for this purpose is not as strict as *** have already developed a Bread Board Model(BBM) of the telescope for ILOM and made some experiments in order to know the performance of the driving mechanism under a similar condition to the lunar environment showing high vacuum,large temperature change and dusty *** have also shown that it is possible to correct the effects of uniform temperature change upon the optical system by using a simple model with an accuracy of better than 1 *** model has the potential to attain the accuracy of 1 mas,based on the results of the experiments and the simulations.

The Relationship between Neck and shoulder Pain and the Sagittal Alignment of the Spine in Standing in Younger Generation

Background: The relationship between chronic neck and shoulder pain and posture remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between chronic neck and shoulder pain and spinal sagittal alignment in standing posture in younger generation. Methods: Subjects included 57 females and 32 males (average age, 29.9 ± 5.7 years). All subjects were 20s or 30s. Spinal curvature was assessed using SpinalMouse. The subjects were also divided into a normal group (VAS zero group) and a pain group by VAS results. Statistical analysis was performed by Student’s t-test. Significance was defined as p < 0.05. Results: The normal group and pain group included 29 and 60 subjects, respectively. In terms of location of pain, thirty-one subjects felt neck pain, 50 felt pain above the scapula, and 17 felt pain between the thoracic spine and scapula. Thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis in the pain group were significantly higher than those in the normal group (p = 0.013 and p = 0.020, respectively). Thoracic kyphosis in subjects with neck pain or pain above scapula was significantly higher than that in subjects without pain (p = 0.0075 and p = 0.025, respectively). Lumbar lordosis in subjects with pain above the scapula or interscapula was significantly higher than that in subjects without pain (p = 0.016).

The treatment of massive osteolysis with lymphangioma and/or hemangioma(Gorha m- Stout syndrome) has been controversial. The authors report on a patient with multiple massive osteolyses and extensive lymph- hemangiomatosis- whose lesions were reduced by interferon alfa therapy. A 2- year- old girl had complained of left chylothorax. Thoracoscopy showed an increase in small lym phatic vessels in the chest wall. The chylothorax was improved by coagulation of the lymphatic vessels. Later, multiple massive osteolyses appeared in the left 11th and 12th ribs, the TH10- L3 vertebrae, and the right femur. There were als o hemangiomas in the liver and spleen, a tumor lesion in the left lower chest wa ll, and hemangiomatous change on the skin surface of the left back. The left lun g had only a minimal air content. After OK- 432 was injected into the femur and chest wall lesions, the femur lesion disappeared. Then, as right chylothorax ap peared, OK- 432 was injected into the right pulmonary cavity. The chylothorax d isappeared, but pericardial effusion appeared. After steroid pulse therapy, peri cardial effusion disappeared. During these treatments, the 7th to 10th ribs disa ppeared from the x- ray and scoliosis developed. One month later, a cloudy flui d collection in the right lung was found on computed tomography. Interferon alfa and steroid pulse therapy were started. Interferon alfa (1,500,000 units) was s ubcutaneously administered daily for 2 months and was gradually reduced and main tained at 1,500,000 unit/wk. Steroids were also reduced and maintained at 5 mg/d of predonine. Later, the progress of osteolysis and the extension of lymph- he mangiomatosis stopped. Ten months later, hemangioma in the back disappeared, and the 7th to 10th ribs, which had disappeared, reappeared. The interferon alfa th erapy was stopped 14 months after it was administered. The patient’s condition has been stable for 10 months since then. At this time, computed tomography sho ws regression
