Cubic phase Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+):Y_(2)O_(3) and Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+)/Gd^(3+):Y_(2)O_(3) phosphors were prepared by low temperature combustion technique for upconversion emission in UV-visible *** 980 nm excitation has generated UV emission at 314 nm in tridoped phosphor due to the energy transfer from Tm^(3+) to Gd^(3+)*** emission bands from Tm^(3+) are also observed in both the *** coupled Stark sublevels ^(1)G_(4(a))(476 nm) and ^(1)G_(4(b))(488 nm) of Tm^(3+) ion were utilised for optical thermometry using fluorescent intensity ratio(FIR) *** result shows that maximum absolute sensitivity in tridoped phosphor is observed to be 1.33 × 10^(-3) K^(-1) at 298 ***,temperature rise of phosphor at various pump power densities was also measured and it is estimated to achieve 407 K at the pump power density of 38.46 W/cm^(2).

The monkeypox virus,which causes the viral zoonotic disease,is known as the most significant orthopoxvirus infection following the elimination of *** monkeypox virus,which was previously exclusive to West and Central African nations and caused endemic diseases in monkeys and people,has recently been linked to human infections in non-endemic areas including the United States of America(USA)and more than 30 additional *** for the diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox have also recently been made available by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and the Indian *** monkeypox outbreak continues to be a worldwide health emergency,the highest degree of alert recognised by the World Health *** Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC)advises vaccination for those who have been exposed to the disease as well as those who may be at higher risk of contracting it,such as those who have been identified by public health officials as a contact of someone who has the disease.

Effect of tuberosity repair on functional outcome of reverse shoulder arthroplasty in proximal humerus fractures

Purpose:Unsatisfactory results of hemiarthroplasty in Neer’’s 3- and 4-part proximal humerus fractures in elderly,have led to the shift towards reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA).The objective of our study was to repair the tuberosities that are generally overlooked during RSA and observe its impact on the functional outcome and shoulder ***:We include elderly patients with acutely displaced or dislocated 3- or 4-part proximal humerus fractures from July 2013 to November 2019 who were treated with RSA along with tuberosity repair by non-absorbable sutures and bone grafting harvested from the humeral *** injuries and cases with neuro-muscular involvement of the deltoid muscle were *** to the tuberosity healing on radiographs of the shoulder at 9th postoperative month,the patients were divided into 2 groups,as the group with successful tuberosity repair and the other with failed tuberosity *** analysis of the functional outcome and shoulder scores between the 2 groups were done by independentt-test for normally distributed parameters and Mann-Whitney test for the parameters,where data was not normally ***:Of 41 patients,tuberosity healing was achieved in 28 (68.3%) and failed in 13 (31.7%) *** of the tuberosity occurred in 5 patients,tuberosity displacement in 2,and nonunion in *** age was 70.4 years (range 65 – 79 years) and mean follow-up was 58.7 months (range 18 – 93 months).There were no major *** with successful tuberosity repair showed improvement in mean active range of movements,like anterior elevation (165.1°± 4.9°vs.144.6°± 9.4°,p < 0.000),lateral elevation (158.9°± 7.2°vs.138.4°± 9.6°,p < 0.000),external rotation (30.5°± 6.9°vs.35.0°± 6.3°,p = 0.367),internal rotation (33.7°± 7.5°vs.32.6°± 6.9°,p = 0.671) and in mean shoulder scores including Constant score (70.7 ± 4.1vs.55.5 ± 5.7,p < 0.000),American shoulder and elbow surgeons score (90.3 ± 2.4vs.69.0 ± 5.7,p < 0.0
