Absence of asymptomatic unruptured renal artery pseudoaneurysm on contrast-enhanced computed tomography after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy without parenchymal renorrhaphy

Objective:To assess the incidence of asymptomatic unruptured renal artery pseudoaneurysm(RAP)on contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CE-CT)after robot-assisted partial nephrectomy(RAPN)without parenchymal ***:From May 2016 to December 2017,78 patients underwent RAPN for renal *** suture was performed in the opened collecting system or renal sinus,whereas parenchymal renorrhaphy was *** hemostasis,the soft coagulation system was used,and absorbable hemostats were placed on the resection ***-CT was carried out within 7 days after *** on these patients were prospectively collected.A single radiologist determined the diagnosis of ***:Median(range)data were as follows:Patient age,65(19-82)years;radiographic tumor size,30(12-95)mm;operating time,166(102-294)min;warm ischemic time,16(7-67)min;and blood loss,15(0-4450)*** patient(1.6%)required a perioperative blood *** patient required conversion to open surgery or ***-CT was carried out at median 6(3-7)days after ***-CT showed no RAP development in all 61 *** leakage was not *** patient had acute cholecystitis,a postoperative complication classified as Clavien-Dindo grade higher than 3,which was treated with *** surgical margin was identified in four patients(6.6%).Conclusion:RAPN using soft coagulation and absorbable hemostats without renorrhaphy appears to be feasible and *** technique could eliminate the risk of RAP.

Detecting Communities in K-Partite K-Uniform (Hyper)Networks

In social tagging systems such as Delicious and Flickr,users collaboratively manage tags to annotate ***,a social tagging system can be modeled as a （user,tag,resource） hypernetwork,where there are three different types of nodes,namely users,resources and tags,and each hyperedge has three end nodes,connecting a user,a resource and a tag that the user employs to annotate the *** how can we automatically cluster related users,resources and tags,respectively？ This is a problem of community detection in a 3-partite,3-uniform *** generally,given a K-partite K-uniform （hyper）network,where each （hyper）edge is a K-tuple composed of nodes of K different types,how can we automatically detect communities for nodes of different types？ In this paper,by turning this problem into a problem of finding an efficient compression of the （hyper）network＇s structure,we propose a quality function for measuring the goodness of partitions of a K-partite K-uniform （hyper）network into communities,and develop a fast community detection method based on *** method overcomes the limitations of state of the art techniques and has several desired properties such as comprehensive,parameter-free,and *** compare our method with existing methods in both synthetic and real-world datasets.

Three-Dimensional Leaf Edge Reconstruction Combining Two-and Three-Dimensional Approaches

Leaves,crucial for plant physiology,exhibit various morphological traits that meet diverse functional *** leaf morphology quantification,largely 2-dimensional(2D),has not fully captured the 3-dimensional(3D)aspects of leaf *** improvements in 3D data acquisition,accurately depicting leaf morphologies,particularly at the edges,is *** study proposes a method for 3D leaf edge reconstruction,combining 2D image segmentation with curve-based 3D *** deep-learning-based instance segmentation for 2D edge detection,structure from motion for estimation of camera positions and orientations,leaf correspondence identification for matching leaves among images,and curve-based 3D reconstruction for estimating 3D curve fragments,the method assembles 3D curve fragments into a leaf edge model through B-spline curve *** method's performances were evaluated on both virtual and actual leaves,and the results indicated that small leaves and high camera noise pose greater challenges to *** developed guidelines for setting a reliability threshold for curve fragments,considering factors occlusion,leaf size,the number of images,and camera error;the number of images had a lesser impact on this threshold compared to *** method was effective for lobed leaves and leaves with fewer than 4 ***,challenges still existed when dealing with morphologies exhibiting highly local variations,such as *** nondestructive approach to 3D leaf edge reconstruction marks an advancement in the quantitative analysis of plant *** is a promising way to capture whole-plant architecture by combining 2D and 3D phenotyping approaches adapted to the target anatomical structures.

Applicability of LIVE/DEAD BacLight stain with glutaraldehyde fixation for the measurement of bacterial abundance and viability in rainwater

Rainwater contains substantial bacteria and rain is an efficient pathway for the dissemination of bacteria from the atmosphere to land and water ***,quantitative information on rainwater bacteria is very limited due to the lack of a reliable *** this study,the epifluorescence microscopy enumeration with the LIVE/DEAD BacLight Bacterial Viability Kit stain was verified to quantify the abundance of viable and non-viable bacterial cells in rainwater,with the 4＇,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole（DAPI） stain for the reference of total cell *** showed that the total counts of bacterial cells by LIVE/DEAD BacLight staining were consistent with those by DAPI staining,and the average detection efficiency was（109 ± 29）%.The ratio of cell count with glutaraldehyde fixation to that without fixation was（106 ± 5）%on *** bacterial concentration in negative control was usually an order of magnitude lower than that in rainwater ***,in case of small precipitation,the abundance in negative control could be more than that in rainwater *** results indicate that the enumeration with LIVE/DEAD BacLight bacterial viability assay coupled with glutaraldehyde fixation and careful negative control investigation is an approach applicable to the measurement of the concentration and viability of bacterial cells in rainwater.

A molecular orbital approach to materials design has recently made great progress. This approach is based onthe electronic structure calculations by the DV-Xα cluster method. In this paper recent progress in this approachis reviewed. In particular, it is stressed that New PHACOMP approach is useful for predicting the formation oftopologically close-packed (TCP) phases (e.g., σ phase andμ phase ) in nickel based superalloys. Compared to thecurrent PHACOMP, New PHACOMP provides a better tool for designing those alloys which are free from such TCPprecipitates at service temperatures. In addition, the d-electrons concept is shown for alloy design and development.

Optimal calibration scheme for map-based control of diesel engines

Map-based control has the advantage of a simple control structure. However, in the case of a complex plant, calibrating the map is difficult. Calibration methodology using plant model is increasing in engine calibration industries. However, the models are for steady-state operation and cannot simulate at transient operation well. This study introduces the dynamic empirical model and applies the transient corrective function of an electronic control unit to simulate more realistic behavior. The optimization problem for calibrating maps of diesel engines is constructed, and the formulation of cost function and constraints is discussed. Consequently, the proposed calibration scheme can find an optimal map in satisfied ***, the optimized maps are validated using mass production diesel engines.

Feature selection: Key to enhance node classification with graph neural networks

Graphs help to define the relationships between entities in the *** relationships,represented by edges,often provide additional context information which can be utilised to discover patterns in the *** Neural Networks(GNNs)employ the inductive bias of the graph structure to learn and predict on various *** primary operation of graph neural networks is the feature aggregation step performed over neighbours of the node based on the structure of the *** addition to its own features,for each hop,the node gets additional combined features from its *** aggregated features help define the similarity or dissimilarity of the nodes with respect to the labels and are useful for tasks like node ***,in real-world data,features of neighbours at different hops may not correlate with the node's ***,any indiscriminate feature aggregation by GNN might cause the addition of noisy features leading to degradation in model's *** this work,we show that selective aggregation of node features from various hops leads to better performance than default aggregation on the node classification ***,we propose a Dual-Net GNN architecture with a classifier model and a selector *** classifier model trains over a subset of input node features to predict node labels while the selector model learns to provide optimal input subset to the classifier for the best *** two models are trained jointly to learn the best subset of features that give higher accuracy in node label *** extensive experiments,we show that our proposed model outperforms both feature selection methods and state-of-the-art GNN models with remarkable improvements up to 27.8%.

Assessment of delayed bleeding after endoscopic submucosal dissection of early-stage gastrointestinal tumors in patients receiving direct oral anticoagulants

Delayed bleeding is a major and serious adverse event of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for early-stage gastrointestinal *** rate of post-ESD bleeding for gastric cancer is higher(around 5%-8%)than that for esophagus,duodenum and colon cancer(around 2%-4%).Although investigations into the risk factors for post-ESD bleeding have identified several procedure-,lesion-,physician-and patient-related factors,use of antithrombotic drugs,especially anticoagulants[direct oral anticoagulants(DOACs)and warfarin],is thought to be the biggest risk factor for post-ESD *** fact,the post-ESD bleeding rate in patients receiving DOACs is 8.7%-20.8%,which is higher than that in patients not receiving ***,because clinical guidelines for management of ESD in patients receiving DOACs differ among countries,it is necessary for endoscopists to identify ways to prevent post-ESD delayed bleeding in clinical *** that the pharmacokinetics(e.g.,plasma DOAC level at both trough and T_(max))and pharmacodynamics(e.g.,anti-factor Xa activity)of DOACs are related to risk of major bleeding,plasma DOAC level and anti-FXa activity may be useful parameters for monitoring the anti-coagulate effect and identifying DOAC patients at higher risk of post-ESD bleeding.

Influence of comorbidity on outcomes of older patients with acute pancreatitis based on a national administrative database

Little information is available on the influ- ence of comorbidities on outcomes of older patients with acute pancreatitis. This study aimed to investigate the influence of co- morbidities on outcomes of older patients with acute pancreati- tis using data from a national Iapanese administrative database. METHODS： A total of 14 322 older patients （〉70 years） with acute pancreatitis were referred to 1090 hospitals between 2010 and 2012 in Japan. We collected patients＇ data from the administrative database to compare the in-hospital mortal- ity and length of stay of older patients with acute pancreatitis. The patients were categorized into four groups according to comorbidity level using the Charlson Comorbidity Index （CCI）： none （CCI score=0; n=6890）; mild （1; n=3874）; moder- ate （2; n=2192） and severe （〉3; n=1366）. RESULTS： Multiple logistic and linear regression analyses revealed that severe comorbidity was significantly associated with higher in-hospital mortality and longer length of stay [odds ratio （OR）=2.26; 95% confidence interval （CI）： 1.75-2.92, P〈0.001 and coefficient 4.37 days; 95% CI： 2.89-5.85, P〈0.001, respectively]. In addition, cardiovascular and renal diseases were the most significant comorbidities affecting outcomes of the older patients. ORs of cardiovascular and renal diseases for mortality were 1.44 （95% CI： 1.13-1.85, P=0.003） and 2.69 （95% CI： 1.88-3.85, P〈0.001）, respectively, and coefficients forlength of stay were 3.01 days （95% CI： 1.34-4.67, P〈0.001） and 3.72 days （95% CI： 1.01-6.42, P=0.007）, respectively. CONCLUSION： This study demonstrated that comorbidities significantly influenced outcomes of older patients with acute pancreatitis and cardiovascular and renal comorbidities were significant factors affecting outcomes.
