Problems and prospects of fish farming in the Chattogram Hill Tracts of Bangladesh:Community-based aquaculture might be a right choice

The study was carried out in Matiranga Upazila,Bandarban district,which is considered one of Bangladesh’s major hill tract *** study aimed to identify present farming conditions,prospects,and problems and suitable solutions to the problems of fish *** participatory rapid appraisal tools such as focus group discussion,field visits,and farmers’interviews were used to collect relevant fish farming information in the study *** polyculture method was the most practised aquaculture *** the selected farms,eleven fish species were identified as culture *** transportation cost for seeds purchased from remote areas was high(11%of total seed cost).The average transportation-related mortality of fish fry and fingerlings was 7.2%and 2.8%.Feed cost was found as the major cost(58.4%)in *** and revenue for fish production per decimal varied from BDT 311 to 3528 and BDT 23 to *** of vacant lake,youth and women engagement,integrated aquaculture,the desire of people to engage in aquaculture,and available human resources were found as significant *** major problems identified were lack of hatchery,high feed cost,lack of stakeholder linkage,lack of capital for fish farming,and lack of proper knowledge,guidelines,and consultancy for fish culture.A community-based aquaculture model was proposed to overcome the present challenges and problems in the study *** model may help to expand aquaculture and thus improve the livelihood and socio-economic status of the people of the hilly areas of Bangladesh.

BACKGROUND BIR repeat-containing ubiquitin conjugating enzyme(BRUCE)is a liver tumor suppressor,which is downregulated in a large number of patients with liver *** facilitates DNA damage repair to protect the mouse liver against the hepatocarcinogen diethylnitrosamine(DEN)-dependent acute liver injury and *** there exists an established pathologic connection between fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),DEN exposure alone does not induce robust hepatic *** studies are warranted to identify new suppressive mechanisms contributing to DEN-induced fibrosis and *** To investigate the suppressive mechanisms of BRUCE in hepatic fibrosis and HCC *** Male C57/BL6/J control mice[loxp/Loxp;albumin-cre(Alb-cre)-]and BRUCE Alb-Cre KO mice(loxp/Loxp;Alb-Cre+)were injected with a single dose of DEN at postnatal day 15 and sacrificed at different time points to examine liver disease *** By using a liver-specific BRUCE knockout(LKO)mouse model,we found that BRUCE deficiency,in conjunction with DEN exposure,induced hepatic fibrosis in both premalignant as well as malignant stages,thus recapitulating the chronic fibrosis background often observed in HCC *** in fibrosis and HCC,β-catenin activity depends on its stabilization and subsequent translocation to the ***,we observed that livers from BRUCE KO mice demonstrated an increased nuclear accumulation and elevated activity ofβ-catenin in the three stages of carcinogenesis:Pre-malignancy,tumor initiation,and *** suggests that BRUCE negatively regulatesβ-catenin activity during liver disease progression.β-catenin can be activated by phosphorylation by protein kinases,such as protein kinase A(PKA),which phosphorylates it at Ser-675(pSer-675-β-catenin).Mechanistically,BRUCE and PKA were colocalized in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes where PKA activity is maintained at the basal ***,in BRUCE deficient mouse livers

Immunotherapies boosting the immune system's ability to target cancer cells are promising for the treatment of various tumor types,yet clinical responses differ among patients and ***,there has been increasing interest in novel cancer immunotherapy practices aimed at triggering T cell-mediated anti-tumor ***-directed cytotoxicity mediated by T lymphocytes has become a central focal point in the battle against cancer utilizing the immune *** molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the actions of T lymphocytes have directed new therapeutic approaches in cancer immunotherapy,including checkpoint blockade,adoptive and chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)T cell therapy,and cancer *** review addresses all the strategies targeting tumor pathogenesis,including metabolic pathways,to evaluate the clinical significance of current and future immunotherapies for patients with cancer,which are further engaged in T cell activation,differentiation,and response against tumors.
