Integrated study on the tectonic, basin filling and thermal evolution of the Tertiary basins on the northern margin of the South China Sea has indicated that the rift continental margin on the northern South China Sea is not a passive margin and that the western margin is characteristic of the transformextension. Episodic rifting and the thermal events since 10 Ma in the area have been documented by the integrated analysis of dynamic process. It has been clarified that the tectono-thermal events have exerted a significant influence on basin features and hydrocarbon accumulation, and particularly, the westward collision of the Lusong Island Arc, the generation of densely spaced faults in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, the rapid subsidence, high heat flow and large-scale over pressure and thermal-fluid breakthrough in the Yinggehai and the Qiongdongnan basins have proved to be the important factors determining the formation of oil and gas in these basins.

Tertiary basins distributed mainly in two zones in the CircumPacific region of China, which includes a rift basin zone in continental area and a continental margin basin zone in offshore area of west Pacific Ocean. Extensional regime dominated the evolution processes of the basins, and in many cases the extensional process was accompanied by dextral strikeslip movement. Mantle upwelling or plumes have been found beneath the rift zone and the marginal sea basins by geophysical and volcanic petrology research. Based upon the regional studies, the basin formation, lithosphere thinning and mantle upwelling may be caused by the superimposed effect of three processes: (1) subduction of Pacific plate, (2) subduction of IndiaAustralia plate which is the main controlling factor for the opening of the South China Sea and (3) collision of India with Eurasia.

Coupling relationship exists in development time of the Qinling orogen and the neighboring Ordos basin, implying that they are connected genetically, that is, the formation and evolution of the Ordos basin are response to orogeny. The present Ordos basin is a residual part of the Late Triassic large Ordos basin. The primary large Ordos basin was featured by four types of boundaries, i.e. (1) southern thrusting boundary; (2) southwestern strikeslip thrusting boundary; (3) northwestern rifting boundary; and (4) northeastern and northern passive gentle slope type boundary. This basin was composed of sequences A and B. These sequences consist of three parts, i.e. lower alluvial systems tract, middle expanding lacustrine systems tract and the upper contracting lacustrine systems tract. A systems tract is actually a parasequence set. Based on division of sequences stratigraphic units and reconstruction of depositional systems tracts, the present paper proposes that: (1) two episodes occurred during Late Triassic Qinling collision orogeny; (2) collision is stronger in western Qinling than in eastern Qinling.

The constitution,material movement and geodynamical process of the structural model are proposed. arly Mesozoic flexural basins developed in East China include flexural basin with foredeep, compressive flexural basin, transpressional flexural basin and so on. Late Triassic collision between Gondwana and Eurasian continents led to the formation of large flexural basins with foredeep. Jurassic Tethys geotectonic domain and western Pacific active continental margin activated, resulting in the formation of Early-Middle Jurassic large flexural basins and Late Jurassic small foreland basins. These basins and their marginal orogenic belts were arranged as weakly constrained lateral extrusion structures and constrained lateral extrusion structures, which show a genetic coupling relationship between the orogenic belts and the basins.

Based upon the recent research on the Circum- Pacific geology and sedimentary basins a review of the time - space evolution of Mesozoic and Cenozoic basic and their geodynamic background are outlined. The foreland-type basins originated mainly in Late Triassic during the convergence of East Tethys and the continental collision, while the extensional and transform-extensional basins formed mainly in the Eastern China in Late Mesozoic and Cenozoic. They are closely related to the subduction Process of Pacific Plate from eat and the collision from southwest. As a sighficat indicator of deep Process of the Earth, the igneous rocks and magmatism offer very important information for the basin dynamic analysis. The evolution of the basins in East China were controlled by the combination and alternation effects from the surrounding Plates of Eurasia and the deep Process.

The progressive extrusion model proposed by Tapponnier for the effect of IndiaEurasia collision is modified by taking threedimensional deformation and preexisting faults into account. Through model analysis, the possibility is discussed in this paper that the collision causes the inversion of TanchengLujiang faults and Red River fault from leftlateral slip to rightlateral slip, triggers the extension of the sedimentary basins producing oil and gas such as Bohaiwan basin and Yinggehai basin in Cenozoic era, and induces clockwise rotation of Southeast Asia.

However, the discovery oflarge coal deposits and oil in commercial quantities in the last ten years shows that these basins are greatpotential sources of energy. BACKGROUND: Sepsis, a common acute and critical disease, leads to 11 million deaths annually worldwide. Probiotics are living microorganisms that are beneficial to the host and may benefit sepsis outcomes, but their effects are stil inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the overal eff ect of probiotics on the prognosis of patients with *** RESOURCES: We searched several sources for published/presented studies, including Pub Med, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library and the US National Library of Medicine Clinical Trials Register(***) updated through July 30, 2023, to identify all relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs) or observational studies that assessed the effectiveness of probiotics or synbiotics in patients with sepsis and reported mortality. We focused primarily on mortality during the study period and analyzed secondary outcomes, including 28-day mortality, in-intensive care unit(ICU) mortality and other ***: Data from 405 patients in five RCTs and 108 patients in one cohort study were included in the analysis. The overall quality of the studies was satisfactory, but clinical heterogeneity existed. All adult studies reported a tendency for probiotics to reduce the mortality of patients with sepsis, and most studies reported a decreasing trend in the incidence of infectious complications, length of ICU stay and duration of antibiotic use. There was only one RCT involving ***: Probiotics show promise for improving the prognosis of patients with sepsis, including reducing mortality and the incidence of infectious complications, particularly in adult patients. Despite the limited number of studies, especially in children, these findings will be encouraging for clinical practice in the treatment of sepsis and suggest that gut microbiota-targeted therapy may improve the prognosis of patients with sepsis.
