Six degrees of freedom(6DoF)input interfaces are essential formanipulating virtual objects through translation or rotation in three-dimensional(3D)space.A traditional outside-in tracking controller requires the installation of expensive hardware in *** inside-out tracking controllers have been proposed,they often suffer from limitations such as interaction limited to the tracking range of the sensor(e.g.,a sensor on the head-mounted display(HMD))or the need for pose value modification to function as an input interface(e.g.,a sensor on the controller).This study investigates 6DoF pose estimation methods without restricting the tracking range,using a smartphone as a controller in augmented reality(AR)*** approach involves proposing methods for estimating the initial pose of the controller and correcting the pose using an inside-out tracking *** addition,seven pose estimation algorithms were presented as candidates depending on the tracking range of the device sensor,the tracking method(e.g.,marker recognition,visual-inertial odometry(VIO)),and whether modification of the initial pose is *** two experiments(discrete and continuous data),the performance of the algorithms was *** results demonstrate enhanced final pose accuracy achieved by correcting the initial ***,the importance of selecting the tracking algorithm based on the tracking range of the devices and the actual input value of the 3D interaction was emphasized.

Despite significant developments in 3D multi-view multi-person (3D MM) tracking, current frameworks separately target footprint tracking, or pose tracking. Frameworks designed for the former cannot be used for the latter, because they directly obtain 3D positions on the ground plane via a homography projection, which is inapplicable to 3D poses above the ground. In contrast, frameworks designed for pose tracking generally isolate multi-view and multi-frame associations and may not be sufficiently robust for footprint tracking, which utilizes fewer key points than pose tracking, weakening multi-view association cues in a single frame. This study presents a unified multi-view multi-person tracking framework to bridge the gap between footprint tracking and pose tracking. Without additional modifications, the framework can adopt monocular 2D bounding boxes and 2D poses as its input to produce robust 3D trajectories for multiple persons. Importantly, multi-frame and multi-view information are jointly employed to improve association and triangulation. Our framework is shown to provide state-of-the-art performance on the Campus and Shelf datasets for 3D pose tracking, with comparable results on the WILDTRACK and MMPTRACK datasets for 3D footprint tracking.

Porcine Placenta Extract Reduced Wrinkle Formation by Potentiating Epidermal Hydration

Background: Placenta extract is used as an alternative medicine especially in Asian countries as it is a rich reservoir of diverse bioactive molecules. The effects of placenta extract on skin conditions have been previously reported, however, the mechanism underlying for reduced wrinkle formation remains unclear. Objective: The primary objective of this study was to determine whether the continuous application of porcine placenta extract (PPE) alleviates wrinkle formation in humans and explore the underlying mechanism. Methods: Wrinkle formation, skin hydration, and skin elasticity were measured in 15 volunteers at weeks 0 and 6 after continuous application of a gel containing PPE. The production of type I collagen and hyaluronic acid from fibroblasts and keratinocytes, respectively, were measured using ELISA. Expression levels of ceramide synthase 3 (CERS3), filaggrin (FLG), transglutaminase 1 (TGM1), and kallikrein-7 (KLK7) were evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR. Results: The wrinkle index was significantly reduced to 72.1% after a 6-week of applying the PPE gel, along with a significant increase in skin hydration to 126.5%. Type I collagen production from fibroblasts was enhanced slightly but significantly following treatment with PPE. PPE accelerated the expression of CERS3 (1.85-fold), FLG (1.35-fold), TGM1 (1.76-fold), and KLK7 (1.62-fold). Conclusion: Treatment with PPE alleviates wrinkle formation and simultaneously enhances skin hydration, which is induced via the accelerated expression of moisturizing-related proteins. These findings suggest that PPE is effective for combating dryness-induced wrinkle formation.

Non-invasive potato defects detection has been demanded for sorting and grading *** on the classification of the defects has been available,however,investigation on the severity level calculation is *** the detection of the common scab,it has been found that imaging in the infrared region provide an interesting characteristic that could distinguish defected area to normal ***,investigations on this wavelength range is interesting to add more knowledge and for *** this research,the multispectral image has been obtained and investigated especially at three wavelengths(950,1150,1600 nm).Image pre-processing and pseudo-color conversion techniques were explored to enhance the contrast between defects,normal background skin area and soil *** show that external defects,such as common scab and some mechanical damage types,appear brighter in the near infrared region,especially at 1600 nm against the normal skin *** has been found that pseudo-color images conversion provides more information regarding type if surface characteristics compared to grayscale single *** segmentation using pseudo-color images after multiplication operation pre-processing could be used for common scab and mechanical damage detection excluding soil deposits with a Dice Sorensen coefficient of *** addition,image segmentation using single image at 1600 nm shown relatively better results with Dice Sorensen coefficient of 0.72 with note that thick soil deposits will also be *** severity level evaluation had an R2 correlation of 0.84 against standard measurements of severity.

Soft In Way Inc. performed the aerodynamic design of a 4 stages high pressure radial blower with vaneless diffusers and deswirlers for DMW Corporation in 2021. The nominal pressure ratio of the machine is near *** a pressure ratio often characterizes what would typically be called a compressor, especially if the compression work is performed in one stage. For the subject machine of the present study, the compression work is split into 4 *** paper describes the design procedure for this blower, initially focusing in depth on the tradeoffs between work split,rotor diameter, and rotor vane back-sweep angle. The paper then presents a further design and optimization work of different variants of diffuser and deswirler based on aerodynamic performance for this 4 stages radial blower. The number of deswirler blades in the return channel was reduced from 19 to 10 in consideration of manufacturing requirements. To minimize losses in performance due to reduced blade number, several candidates of varied geometry shape deswirler blades were obtained from an automatic design and optimization workflow combining with 3D CFD calculation. All candidates of deswirler were implemented to the entire 4 stages radial blower to analyze machine performance by 3D CFD calculation and the best 10-blade deswirler geometry was determined. 3D CFD analysis shows that 10 blades of deswirler is unable to provide the same pressure rise and efficiency as the original design with 19 blades when all other parts of the design, such as rotor and diffuser are maintained the same. To further improve the blower performance, the similar automatic workflow was applied to study vaned diffuser influence to the blower performance based on the new blower configuration. The number and geometry of best diffuser blades was obtained from the automatic workflow and entire blower performance with vaned diffuser was analyzed and validated by 3D CFD calculation. To exam ine the effect of digestive attributes such as digestive enzymes and pH on changes in phenolic compound content and antioxidant activity during digestion,the bioavailability of green tea infusion was investigated using a simulated in vitro gastrointestinal digestion *** total polyphenol content(TPC)decreased to 65%–70%throughout the mimicked normal digestion(MD)compared to the initial *** total flavonoid content(TFC)decreased to approximately 25%after starting the gastric stage(pH 1.2);however,it regained to approximately 60%in the intestinal stage(pH 6.8).The mimicked digestive condition without digestive enzymes(WOE),which followed only the pH conditions of MD,showed significantly lower TPC and TFC values than *** percentage of antioxidant activity based on the initial values indexed by DPPH,ABTS,and FRAP gradually declined from approximately 60%at the gastric stage to approximately 40%at the final digestion ***,the percentage of residual MIC was around 50%at the gastric ***,it gradually increased at the intestinal *** significantly lower antioxidant activity showed for WOE than MD throughout the simulated *** study demonstrated that digestive enzymes and pH play a crucial role in the bioavailability of green tea infusion.
