In recent years,neonicotinoids(NEOs)and organophosphate esters(OPEs)have been widely used as substitutes for traditional pesticides and brominated fame-retardants,respectively.Previous studies have shown that those compounds can be frequently detected in environmental and human samples,are able to penetrate the placental barrier,and are toxic to animals.Thus,it is reasonable to speculate that NEOs and OPEs may have potential adverse effects in humans,especially during development.We employed a human embryonic stem cell differentiation-and liver S9 fraction metabolism-based fast screening model to assess the potential embryonic toxicity of those two types of chemicals.We show that four NEO and five OPE prototypes targeted mostly ectoderm specification,as neural ectoderm and neural crest genes were down-regulated,and surface ectoderm and placode markers up-regulated.Human liver S9 fraction's treatment could generally reduce the effects of the chemicals,except in a few specific instances,indicating the liver may detoxify NEOs and OPEs.Our findings suggest that NEOs and OPEs interfere with human early embryonic development.

How to mine valuable information from massive multisource heterogeneous data and identify the intention of aerial targets is a major research focus at present. Aiming at the longterm dependence of air target intention recognition, this paper deeply explores the potential attribute features from the spatiotemporal sequence data of the target. First, we build an intelligent dynamic intention recognition framework, including a series of specific processes such as data source, data preprocessing,target space-time, convolutional neural networks-bidirectional gated recurrent unit-atteneion (CBA) model and intention recognition. Then, we analyze and reason the designed CBA model in detail. Finally, through comparison and analysis with other recognition model experiments, our proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy of air target intention recognition,and is of significance to the commanders’ operational command and situation prediction.

Base station(BS)backup batteries(BSBBs),with their dispatchable capacity,are potential demand-side resources for future power systems.To enhance the power supply reliability and post-contingency frequency security of power systems,we propose a two-stage stochastic unit commitment(UC)model incorporating operational reserve and post-contingency frequency support provisions from massive BSBBs in cellular networks,in which the minimum backup energy demand is considered to ensure BS power supply reliability.The energy,operational reserve,and frequency support ancillary services are co-optimized to handle the power balance and post-contingency frequency security in both forecasted and stochastic variable renewable energy(VRE)scenarios.Furthermore,we propose a dedicated and scalable distributed optimization framework to enable autonomous optimizations for both dispatching center(DC)and BSBBs.The BS model parameters are stored and processed locally,while only the values of BS decision variables are required to upload to DC under the proposed distributed optimization framework,which safeguards BS privacy effectively.Case studies on a modified IEEE 14-bus system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in promoting VRE accommodation,ensuring post-contingency frequency security,enhancing operational economics,and fully utilizing BSBBs'energy and power capacity.Besides,the proposed distributed optimization framework has been validated to converge to a feasible solution with near-optimal performance within limited iterations.Additionally,numerical results on the Guangdong 500 kV provincial power system in China verify the scalability and practicality of the proposed distributed optimization framework.

A core assumption of sexual selection theory is that sexually selected weapons,specialized morphological structures used directly in male con-tests,can improve an individual's reproductive success but only if the bearer can overcome associated costs,the negative effects on the bear-er's fitness components.However,recent studies have shown that producing and wielding exaggerated weapons may not necessarily be costly.Rather,some traits can be selected for supporting,or compensating for,the expense of producing and wielding such exaggerated weapons.n the ant-mimicking jumping spider Myrmarachne gisti,exaggerated chelicerae are borne only by adult males and not females,showing sexual dimorphism and steep positive allometry with body size.Here,we determine the potential benefits of bearing exaggerated chelicerae during male contests and explore the potential for costs in terms of prey-capture efficiency and compensation between chelicera size and neighboring trait size.While males with longer chelicerae won most of their male-male contests,we found no significant differences in prey-capture effi-ciency between males and females regardless of whether prey was winged or flightless.Males'elongated chelicerae thus do not impede their efficiency at capturing prey.Furthermore,we found that the sizes of all neighboring traits are positively correlated with chelicera size,suggesting that these traits may be under correlational selection.Taken together,our findings suggest that M.gisti males armed with the exaggerated chelicerae that function as weapons win more fights at limited cost for performance in prey capture and compensate for neighboring structures.

Robustness Assessment of Wind Power Generation Considering Rigorous Security Constraints for Power System: A Hybrid RLO-IGDT Approach

Fossil fuel depletion and environmental pollution problems promote development of renewable energy(RE)glob-ally.With increasing penetration of RE,operation security and economy of power systems(PS)are greatly impacted by fluctuation and intermittence of renewable power.In this paper,information gap decision theory(IGDT)is adapted to handle uncertainty of wind power generation.Based on conventional IGDT method,linear regulation strategy(LRS)and robust linear optimization(RLO)method are integrated to reformulate the model for rigorously considering security constraints.Then a robustness assessment method based on hybrid RLO-IGDT approach is proposed for analyzing robustness and economic performance of PS.Moreover,a risk-averse linearization method is adapted to convert the proposed assessment model into a mixed integer linear programming(MILP)problem for convenient optimization without robustness loss.Finally,results of case studies validate superiority of proposed method in guaranteeing operation security rigorously and effectiveness in assessment of RSR for PS without overestimation.Index Terms-Hybrid RLO-IGDT approach,information gap decision theory(IGDT),operation security,robustness assessment,robustness security region(RSR).

YOLO-Drone:A Scale-Aware Detector for Drone Vision

Object detection is an important task in drone vision. Since the number of objects and their scales always vary greatly in the drone-captured video, small object-oriented feature becomes the bottleneck of model performance, and most existing object detectors tend to underperform in drone-vision scenes. To solve these problems, we propose a novel detector named YOLO-Drone. In the proposed detector, the backbone of YOLO is firstly replaced with ConvNeXt, which is the state-of-the-art one to extract more discriminative features. Then, a novel scale-aware attention(SAA) module is designed in detection head to solve the large disparity scale problem. A scale-sensitive loss(SSL) is also introduced to put more emphasis on object scale to enhance the discriminative ability of the proposed detector. Experimental results on the latest VisDrone 2022 test-challenge dataset(detection track) show that our detector can achieve average precision(AP) of 39.43%, which is tied with the previous state-of-the-art, meanwhile,reducing 39.8% of the computational cost.

Microplastics(MPs)become ubiquitous in soil and are an environmental and public health concern worldwide.However,the status of MPs in natural and farmland soils in remote areas remains poorly understood.In this study,we investigated the characteristics of MPs in natural and farmland soils along two transects in the Qilian Mountains of the northern Tibetan Plateau.The average abundance of MPs in natural and farmland soils was 29,778 and 56,123 items kg-1,respectively,with a detection size range of 10-1000μm.MPs in the size range of 10-100μm accounted for 84.1%of particles detected.Among the 21 polymers detected,polyethylene dominated in both farmland and natural soils.The shape of MPs was dominated by fragments(95.8%),followed by fibers(3.8%)and beads(0.4%).The abundance of MPs was positively correlated with increasing altitude in natural soils.There was no significant correlation between the abundance of MPs and soil physicochemical properties due to the narrow range of values of soil physicochemical properties.With the growing concern regarding MPs pollution,research on the status of MPs in high altitude and remote areas is critical to understanding their global cycle.

Thermal conductivity of two-dimensional(2D)materials has gained prominence due to the attractive applications in thermal management and thermoelectric devices.In this work,we present a new member of bilayer 2D boron allotropes,denoted as bilayerβ12 borophene,and study the thermal transport properties by solving phonon Boltzmann transport equation based on density functional theory.Based on quantitative chemical bonding analysis,we identify large degrees of covalent bonding of the interlayer interaction.In comparison to its monolayer counterpart,the bilayer exhibits much higher in-plane thermal conductivity despite the lower phonon group velocity and buckling structure,inferring a new physical mechanism.The thermal conductivity(κ)of bilayerβ_(12)borophene at 300 K is 140.5(86.3)W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)along armchair(zigzag)direction,andκ_(armchair)is about 52.7%higher than that of monolayerβ12 borophene.The abnormal enhancement is attributed to the suppressed phonon scattering possibility and elongation of phonon lifetime.More interesting,after forming bilayerβ12 borophene through interlayer covalent bonding,the dominated phonon branch to thermal conductivity changes to transverse acoustic phonons from out-of-plane flexural acoustic(ZA)phonons in the monolayer borophene.Our study elucidates the rich thermal transport characteristics in bilayer covalently bonded 2D materials,and injects fresh insights into the phonon engineering of 2D borophene relevant for emergent thermal management applications.

Downward transport of stratospheric air into the troposphere(identified as stratospheric intrusions)could potentially modify the radiation budget and chemical of the Earth's surface atmosphere.As the highest and largest plateau on earth,the Tibetan Plateau including the Himalayas couples to global climate,and has attracted widespread attention due to rapid warming and cryospheric shrinking.Previous studies recognized strong stratospheric intrusions in the Himalayas but are poorly understood due to limited direct evidences and the complexity of the meteorological dynamics of the third pole.Cosmogenic^(35)S is a radioactive isotope predominately produced in the lower stratosphere and has been demonstrated as a sensitive chemical tracer to detect stratospherically sourced air mass in the planetary boundary layer.Here,we report 6-month(April–September 2018)observation of^(35)S in atmospheric sulfate aerosols(^(35)SO_(4)^(2-))collected from a remote site in the Himalayas to reveal the stratospheric intrusion phenomenon as well as its potential impacts in this region.Throughout the sampling campaign,the^(35)SO_(4)^(2-)concentrations show an average of 1,070±980 atoms/m^(3).In springtime,the average is 1,620±730 atoms/m^(3),significantly higher than the global existing data measured so far.The significant enrichments of^(35)SO_(4)^(2-)measured in this study verified the hypothesis that the Himalayas is a global hot spot of stratospheric intrusions,especially during the springtime as a consequence of its unique geology and atmospheric couplings.In combined with the ancillary evidences,e.g.,oxygen-17 anomaly in sulfate and modeling results,we found that the stratospheric intrusions have a profound impact on the surface ozone concentrations over the study region,and potentially have the ability to constrain how the mechanisms of sulfate oxidation are affected by a change in plateau atmospheric properties and conditions.This study provides new observational constraints on stratospheric intrusions in the Himalayas,which woul

汽车行业智能化和网联化的发展使车辆轨迹能够实现精细化控制,为改进城市交叉口交通信号控制方法提供了新思路。本文提出一种基于非冲突合流策略的灵活信号控制方法,将同时容纳直行和左转来车的合流相位定义为非冲突相位,在双环相位结构基础上融入合流策略,形成一种具备12个动作空间的双环合流信号相位结构。在优化相位结构基础上,进一步提出改进的强化学习算法求解信号配时,以车辆到达情况为输入,当前状态下车辆等待时间最小为目标,充分考虑双环结构下相位切换的实际规律,学习当前状态下的最优相位控制策略。在SUMO(Simulation of Urban Mobility)仿真中根据算例需求生成场景数据,对比传统双环结构和双环合流相位结构在感应控制和改进强化学习算法下的不同控制策略的性能指标,分析网联车渗透率对控制效果的影响。结果显示:基于非冲突合流策略和改进强化学习算法能够在提升相位切换灵活性的基础上生成更加符合现实规律的相位配时方案;在不同交通流量条件,尤其是高流量和交通量分布不均衡的场景下,相较于双环相位结构和感应控制方法降低约37%的车均延误,提升了信号控制方案实际运行效果。
