BACKGROUND A snapping wrist is a rare symptom that results from the sudden impingement of one anatomic structure against another,subsequently causing a sudden movement only during wrist *** SUMMARY A 30-year-old woman with a history of right wrist contusion reported right wrist snapping after *** snapping became symptomatic after moving heavy *** pain persisted even when she received 1 mo of conservative *** examination showed painful wrist snapping during wrist radioulnar motion and thumb *** demonstrated bone overgrowth over the radial styloid *** disclosed a tendon jumping over a bony prominence in the first compartment during wrist *** resonance imaging revealed no anomalous tendon nor tumorlike *** the wide-awake local anesthesia no tourniquet(WALANT)technique,the lesion was identified in the first extensor *** patient received stepwise extensor retinaculum release,synovectomy,and bone spur *** 6th week,the patient was completely free of pain and unable to snap her *** started working 7 wk after the *** year after the surgery,the wrist snap was not *** Careful physical examination and dynamic sonography may confirm the diagnosis of a snapping *** the WALANT technique,the lesion could be identified under direct vision,and we could take stepwise interventions according to intraoperative presentations.

In current software reliability modeling research,the main concern is how to develop general prediction *** this paper,we propose several improvements on the conventional software reliability growth models (SRGMs) to describe actual software development process by eliminating some unrealistic *** of these models have focused on the failure detection process and not given equal priority to modeling the fault correction ***,most latent software errors may remain uncorrected for a long time even after they are detected,which increases their *** remaining software faults are often one of the most unreliable reasons for software quality. Therefore,we develop a general framework of the modeling of the failure detection and fault correction processes. Furthermore,we apply neural network with back-propagation to match the histories of software failure *** will also illustrate how to construct the neural networks from the mathematical viewpoints of software reliability modeling in ***,numerical examples are shown to illustrate the results of the integration of the detection and correction process in terms of predictive ability and some other standard criteria.

AIM To investigate the association between cardiorespiratory fitness and hospitalization events in a cohort of large voluntary arm forces in Taiwan. METHODS The cardiorespiratory fitness and hospitalization events in armed forces(CHIEF) is a retrospective cohort consisting of more than 4000 professional military members aged 18-50 years in Eastern Taiwan. All participants received history taking, physical examination, chest radiography, 12-lead electrocardiography, blood tests for cell counts and fasting glucose, lipid profiles, uric acid, renal function and liver function in the Hualien Armed Forces General Hospital during 2014. In addition, participants were required to undergo two indoor resistant exercise tests including 2-min push-up and 2-min sit-up, both scored by infrared sensing, and one outdoor endurance 3000-m none weight-bearing running test, the main indicator of cardiorespiratory fitness in the Military Physical Training and Testing Center in Eastern Taiwan in 2014. RESULTS Hospitalization events for cardiovascular disease, acute kidney injury, rhabdomyolysis, severe infectious disease, acute psychiatric illness, diabetes, orthopedic surgery and mortality will be identified in the National Insurance Research Database for 10 years. CONCLUSION CHIEF will be among the largest Eastern Asian armed forces cohort, in which physical status was strictly evaluated to follow up the hospitalization events for severe illness.

The shoe sole geometrical design parameters are believed to be important factors affecting the coefficient of friction （COF） between the shoe/floor interface. This study is concerned with the relationship between the measured COF and the tread groove orientation and width on the footwear pad. Friction measurements using the Brungraber Mark Ⅱ slipmeter were conducted. Six tread groove width/orientations designs on the footwear pads under 27 footwear material/floor/contamination conditions were tested. The results show that tread orientation and width affect the measured COF significantly. Wider grooved footwear pads result in higher COF values and footwear pads with tread grooves perpendicular to the friction measurement direction have higher COF values. A regression model using measured COF as the dependent variable and tread groove width, groove orientation, footwear material, floor, and contamination conditions as independent variables was established. The models are significant at p〈0.0001 with R^2 of 0.97, which may be used in predicting the COF at the shoe-floor interface .

2009年8月8日莫拉克台风重创南台湾,嘉义阿里山区72 h的累积雨量高达2 500 mm以上,百年历史的阿里山森林铁道因沿线路基严重流失而停驶。其中两处大崩塌路段的复建工程以顺应自然为原则,采取迂回隧道方式避开崩塌区,需克服沿线地质变化及地下水问题,评估结果是以凿岩机工法及钻爆工法进行开挖。两座隧道的西口段崩积层分别长达109.8、99 m,是隧道开挖阶段的关键地段。隧道开挖支撑设计系依据台湾岩体分类与支撑系统(PCCR系统)及新奥工法的理念,沿线采用先进支撑材料包括超前管棚钢管、桁型钢支护、钢纤维喷射混凝土及自钻式锚杆等,除了可确保施工安全外,亦可提高施工进度。目前两隧道均已贯通且变形量控制均符合安全,说明隧道采用先进支撑方式穿越破碎崩积层段的成效良好,其研究结果可为相关工程设计提供参考。

An InGaN/GaN multiple-quantum-well（MQW）light-emitting diode（LED）with a ten-period i（undoped）-InGaN/p（Mg doped）-GaN（2.5 nm/5.0 nm）superlattice（SL）structure,was *** SL structure that can be regarded as a confinement layer of holes to enhance the hole injection efficiency is inserted between MQW and p-GaN *** studied LED device exhibits better current spreading performance and an improved quality,compared with a conventional one without SL *** to the reduced contact resistance as well as more uniformity of carriers injection,the operation voltage at 20 mA is decreased from 3.32 to 3.14 V.A remarkably reduced reverse-biased leakage current(10-7-10-9A)and higher endurance of the reverse current pulse are *** measured output power and external quantum efficiency（EQE）of the studied LED are 13.6 mW and 24.8%,respectively. In addition,significant enhancement of 25.4%in output power as well as increment of 5%in EQE for the studied devices is observed, as the studied devices show superior current spreading ability and reduction in dislocations offered by the SL structure.
