Tuning the interfacial reaction environment via pH-dependent and induced ions to understand C–n bonds coupling performance in nO3- integrated CO2 reduction to carbon and nitrogen compounds over dual Cu-based n-doped carbon catalyst

Dual atomic catalysts （DAC）,particularly copper （Cu2）-based nitrogen （n） doped graphene,show great potential to effectively convert CO2and nitrate （nO3-） into important industrial chemicals such as ethylene,glycol,acetamide,and urea through an efficient catalytical process that involves C–C and C–n ***,the origin of the coupling activity remained unclear,which substantially hinders the rational design of Cu-based catalysts for the n-integrated CO2reduction reaction （CO2RR）.To address this challenge,this work performed advanced density functional theory calculations incorporating explicit solvation based on a Cu2-based n-doped carbon (Cu2n6C10) catalyst for *** calculations are aimed to gain insight into the reaction mechanisms for the synthesis of ethylene,acetamide,and urea via coupling in the interfacial reaction *** to the sluggishness of CO2,the formation of a solvation electric layer by anions （F-,Cl-,Br-,and I-） and cations (na+,Mg2+,K+,and Ca2+) leads to electron transfer towards the Cu *** process significantly accelerates the reduction of *** results reveal that*CO intermediates play a pivotal role in n-integrated ***,the Cu2-based n-doped carbon catalyst examined in this study has demonstrated the most potential for C–n coupling to *** findings reveal that through the process of a condensation reaction between*CO and nH2OH for urea synthesis,*nO3-is reduced to*nH3,and*CO2to*CCO at dual Cu atom *** dual-site reduction facilitates the synthesis of acetamide through a nucleophilic reaction between nH3and the ketene ***,we found that the I-and Mg2+ions,influenced by pH,were highly effective for acetamide and ammonia synthesis,except when F-and Ca2+were ***,the mechanisms of C–n bond formation were investigated via ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations,and we found that adjusting the micro-environment can change the dominant side reaction,shift

Synergistically enhanced ORR and HER performance on Co-n-C coupled in-situ generated PtCo intermetallic

Integrating multi-scale sites in a composite catalyst is vital to realize efficient ***,a synergistic composite catalyst consisting of Co atomic sites and in-situ generated PtCo intermetallic compounds （IMCs）(o-PtCo@ConC) is proposed through Co pre-anchoring and subsequent impregnation-reduction *** loading of Co atoms provides a chance for in-situ generating PtCo ordered intermetallic *** remaining Co single atoms and PtCo IMCs construct synergistic electrocatalytic *** from the ordered structure,synergistic effect of Pt Co IMCs and Co single atoms,o-PtCo@ConC exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） and hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） with mass activity of 1.21 A mgPt-1（at 0.9 V） and5.70 A mgPt-1（at an overpotential of 100 mV）,***,o-PtCo@ConC delivers negligible loss of half-wave potential and overpotential during long-term stability test in acid solutions,with 13 mV decay after 50,000 potential cycles for ORR and a 2.7 mV decay after 20,000 potential cycles for *** integration strategy of single-atomic sites coupled IMCs paves the way for enhancing the activity and durability of Pt-based electrocatalysts.

Unraveling structure and performance of protein a ligands at liquid–solid interfaces: A multi-techniques analysis

Oriented ligand immobilization is one of the most effective strategies used in the design and construction of a high-capacity protein A chromatography. In this work, cysteine was introduced as anchoring sites by substituting a specific residue on Helix Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and at C-terminus of antibody binding domain Z from protein A, respectively, to investigate structural evolution and binding behavior of protein A ligands at liquid-solid interfaces. Among the three affinity dextran-coated Fe_(3)O_(4) magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx MnPs), affinity MnPs with the immobilized ligand via n11C on Helix Ⅰ(Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx-Z_(1) MnPs) had the highest helical content, and MnPs with the immobilized ligand via G29C on Helix Ⅱ(Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx-Z_(2) MnPs) had the lowest helical content at the same pHs. It was attributed to less electrostatic attraction of ligand to negatively charged surface on Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx-Z_(1) MnPs because of less positive charged residues on Helix Ⅰ(K6) than Helix Ⅱ(R27/K35). Among the three affinity MnPs, moreover, the highest affinity to immunoglobulin G(IgG) binding was observed on Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx-Z_(1) MnPs in isothermal titration calorimetry measurement, further validating greater structural integrity of the ligand on Fe_(3)O_(4)@Dx-Z_(1) MnPs. Finally,the study of IgG binding on MnPs and 96-well plates showed that anchoring sites for ligand immobilization had distinct influences on IgG binding and IgG-mediated antigen binding. This work illustrated that anchoring sites of the ligands had a striking significance for the molecular structure of the ligand at liquid-solid interfaces and raised an important implication for the design and optimization of protein A chromatography and protein A-based immunoassay analysis.

Effects of the Spatial Coupling of Water and Fertilizer on the Chlorophyll Fluorescence Parameters of Winter Wheat Leaves

Wheat is an important agricultural crop in the Loess region of China, where there is drought stress and low availability of soil nitrogen and phosphorus. Using a pulse modulation fluorometer, we studied the effects of water, nitrogen, and phosphorus on the kinetic parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence in winter wheat. The wheat was grown in layered columns of Eum-Orthic Anthrosol （Cinnamon soil）, with the water content and nutrient composition of each layer controlled. The results showed that the kinetic parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence were sensitive to water stress. The basic fluorescence （F0） of leaves was higher in the dry treatment （0-30 cm layer at 40-45% of field capacity, 30-90 cm at 75-80% of field capacity） compared to the wet treatment （entire soil column at 75-80% of field capacity）. The maximal fluorescence （Fm）, the variable fluorescence （Fv）, the photochemical efficiency （Fv/Fm） and potential activites （Fv/F0） of photosystem 2 （PS2） were significantly lower in the dry treatment. Although drought stress impaired PS2 function, this effect was significantly ameliorated by apply.ng P or nP fertilizer, but not n alone. P application increased FJFm, both in well-watered and water stressed plants, especially when fertilizer was applied throughout the column or within the top 30 em of soil. A combined fertilizer improved photosynthesis in well watered plants, with Fm and F,fFm being the highest when fertilizer was applied throughout the columns. For drought stressed, plants FJFm was significantly greater when combined fertilizer was added within the top 30 cm of soil. We concluded that, when growing winter wheat in both arid and semi-arid parts of the Loess region of China, it is important to guarantee the nutrient supply in the top 30 cm of the soil.

A series of novel Zn(Ⅱ) and Mn(Ⅱ) metal-organic frameworks constructed by 2,4-bis-oxyacetate-benzoic acid: syntheses, structures and photoluminescence

A new carboxylic acid ligand, 2,4-bis-oxyacetate-benzoic acid(H3BOABA), was designed and introduced to construct novel metal-organic framework materials. [Zn na(BOABA)(phen)(H2O)]·H2O(1), Zn na(BOABA)(2), Mn3(BOABA)2(phen)2(3), [Mn2(BOABA)(OH)]·(H2O)2(4)(CCDC: 885138, 885137, 894225, 883094) were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and thermal gravimetric analyses. Crystal structures of the complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. Complex 1 is a one dimensional double edges non-interpenetrated framework decorated by the phen ligands on the surface. Complex 2 is an unique three dimensional open framework, consisting of Zn(II) and na(I). Complex 3 is an unique double edges one dimensional MOF containing a [Mn3(BOABA)2(phen)2]n non-interpenetrated structure. Complex 4 is a two dimensional plane structure containing two Mn atoms in the same coordination environment. The interaction between four complexes and DnA were studied by Et Br fluorescence probe. Meanwhile, photoluminescence studies revealed that these four complexes display strong fluorescent emission bands in the solid state at room temperature.

The responses of soil microbes to global warming and nitrogen enrichment can profoundly affect terrestrial ecosystem functions and the ecosystem feedbacks to climate ***,the interactive effect of warming and nitrogen enrichment on soil microbial community is *** this study,individual and interactive effects of experimental warming and nitrogen addition on the soil microbial community were investigated in a long-term field experiment in a temperate steppe of northern *** field experiment started in 2006 and soils were sampled in 2010 and analyzed for phospholipid fatty acids to characterize the soil microbial *** soil chemical properties were also ***-year experimental warming significantly increased soil total microbial biomass and the proportion of Gram-negative bacteria in the ***-term nitrogen addition decreased soil microbial biomass at the 0-10 cm soil depth and the relative abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the *** interactive effect on soil microbes was detected when experimental warming and nitrogen addition were *** microbial biomass positively correlated with soil total C and n,but basically did not relate to the soil C/n ratio and *** results suggest that future global warming or nitrogen enrichment may significantly change the soil microbial communities in the temperate steppes in northern China.

Insights into the subunit in-teractions of the chloroplast ATP synthase

Subunit interactions of the chloroplast F0F1-ATP synthase were studied using the yeast two-hybrid sys-tem. The coding sequences of all the nine subunits of spinach chloroplast ATP synthase were cloned in two-hybrid vectors. The vectors were transformed into the yeast strains HF7c and SFy526 by various pairwise combinations, and the protein interactions were analyzed by measuring the yeast growth on minimal SD medium without serine, lucine and histidine. Interactions of γ subunit with wild type or two truncated mutants of ε sununit, ε△n21 and ε△C45, which lose their abilities to inhibit the ATP hydrolysis, were also detected by in vitro and in vivo binding assay. The present results are largely accordant to the common structure model of F0F1-ATP synthase. Different from that in the E. coli F0F1-ATP synthase, the δ subunit of chloroplast ATP synthase could interact with β. γ, ε and all the CF0 subunits in the two-hybrid system. Relationship between catchment characteristics and nitrogen forms in Cao-E River Basin, Eastern China

The distribution of different nitrogen forms and their spatial and temporal variations in different pollution types of tributaries or reaches were investigated. Based on the catchments characteristics the tributaries or reaches can be classified into 4 types, including headwater in mountainous areas （type Ⅰ）, agricultural non-point source （nPS） pollution in rural areas （type Ⅱ）, municipal and industrial pollution in urban areas （type Ⅲ）, and combined pollution in main stream （type IV）. Water samples were collected monthly from July 2003 to June 2006 in the Cao-E River Basin in Zhejiang, eastern China. The concentrations of nO3^--n, nH4^＋ -n, and total nitrogen （Tn） were measured. The mean concentrations of nO3^- -n were decreased in the sequence type IV 〉 type Ⅱ〉 type Ⅲ 〉 type Ⅰ, whereas, nH4^＋-n, total organic nitrogen （TOn）, and Tn were in the sequence： type Ⅲ〉 type Ⅳ 〉 type Ⅱ〉 type Ⅰ. In headwater and rural reaches, CnO^-2-n was much higher than Crea^＋ 4-n. In urban reaches, TOn and nH4^＋ -n were the main forms, accounting for 54.7% and 32.1% of Tn, respectively. In the whole river system, Crea^＋ 4--n decreased with increasing distance from cities, and Cno^-3 -n increased with the increasing area of farmland in the catchments. With increased river flow, CnO^-3 n increased and Crea4^＋-n decreased in all types of reaches, while the variations of CTOn and CTn were different. For Tn, the concentration may be decreased with the increase of river flow, but the export load always increased.
