Sustainable development has long been recognized as one of the most critical issues in today’s energy and environment-conscious *** has never been more urgent to recycle and reuse the end-of-life cathode ***,this work systematically investigates the structure-critical degradation mechanism of polycrystalline LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(1−x−y)O_(2)(NCM),combining experimental characterization and DFT *** the key degradation factors,a synergistic repair strategy based on deep mechanochemical activation and heat treatment was successfully proposed to direct regenerate the *** indicate the induction and promotion of synergistic repair technique on the reconstruction of particlemorphology,the recovery of the chemical composition and crystal structure,and the favorable transformation of the impurities phase in the failed *** particular,the synergistic repair process induces a gradient distribution of LiF and further enables partial fluorine doping into the NCM surface,forming abundant oxygen vacancies and increasing the content of highly reactive Ni2+.Benefiting from the comprehensive treatment for the multi-scale and multi-form degradation behaviors,the repaired material exhibits a capacity of 176.8 mA h g^(-1)at 0.1 C,which is comparable to the corresponding commercial material(172.8 mA h g^(-1)).The satisfactory capacity of the recovered cathode proves that it is an effective direct renovating strategy.

Twenty-one runners died of hypothermia during the 100 km Ultramarathon Mountain race in Baiyin,Gansu Province on 22 May *** hypothermia was caused by a combination of low temperatures,precipitation,and high winds associated with a typical large-scale cold front passing by the race site that *** on historical hourly records of 13 meteorological surface stations over the past six years,temperature(3.0°C)and apparent temperature(−5.1°C)at 1200 LST as well as gust wind speed(11.2 m s^(−1))at 1100 LST on the day of the tragedy were found to be within the top or bottom 5th percentile for the month of *** precipitation was only moderate at this time,but when temperature lower than 3.0°C,gust wind speed greater than 11.2 m s^(−1),and precipitation greater than 0.1 mm for any adjacent three hours were combined together,1200 LST 22 May fell within the top 0.1%of *** European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasting model produced reasonably good forecasts of the low temperature and high wind one day and seven days before the event,*** on this study,lessons that can be learned from this tragedy are summarized from an academic perspective:Hazard and impact forecasts of high-impact weather events should be developed to increase the value of weather *** forecasts should be issued by government weather agencies and communicated well to the *** more importantly,knowledge of how to evaluate the impact of weather should be delivered to the public in the *** would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the people who lost their lives in this tragedy,including 21 runners and one *** our efforts honor those who lost their lives by highlighting the value of weather forecasting and calling for greater action in the future.

Calibration and Experimental Research of a multiple-wavelength Flame Temperature Instrumentation System

This paper presents a study on a novel instrumentation system for the measurement of temperature distribution of combustion flames. This system operates upon the three-color principle combining advanced optical sensing and digital image processing techniques. It comprises an endoscope, a light splitter assembly, a CCD camera, a frame-grabber and associated software. This system was calibrated using a blackbody furnace as standard temperature source. The relationship between flame temperatures and grey-level of the images was established through image processing and function correlation. Experimental results obtained on a gas-fired combustion rig provide flame images and temperature distributions on three different wavelengths. Based on the flame temperature distribution the combustion conditions can be analyzed. Experimental results also reveal that this system is capable of online measurement of temperature distribution in a combustion zone. This system can potentially be applied to many areas such as power generation, metallurgy, chemical engineering. It is also a powerful tool for improving the control of combustion process. It is a critical challenge for quantum machine learning to classify the datasets *** article develops a quantum classifier based on the isolated quantum system(QC-IQS)to classify nonlinear and multidimensional ***,a model of QC-IQS is presented by creating parameterized quantum circuits(PQCs)based on the decomposing of unitary operators with the Hamiltonian in the isolated quantum ***,a parameterized quantum classification algorithm(QCA)is designed to calculate the classification results by updating the loss function until it ***,the experiments on nonlinear random number datasets and Iris datasets are designed to demonstrate that the QC-IQS model can handle and generate accurate classification results on different kinds of *** experimental results reveal that the QC-IQS is adaptive and learnable to handle different types of ***,QC-IQS compensates the issue that the accuracy of previous quantum classifiers declines when dealing with diverse *** promotes the process of novel data processing with quantum machine learning and has the potential for more comprehensive applications in the future.

Removal of gaseous acetic acid using ionic liquid [EMIM][BF_4]

This work proposed to use the ionic liquid [EMIM][BF_4] as absorbent for the absorption of gaseous acetic acid. The feasibility of this technology was investigated from molecular level to industrial scale. The acetic acid absorption experiment was carried out using [EMIM][BF_4],and the removal ratio of acetic acid in the gas product can achieve 88.6% at 20C under atmospheric pressure at the laboratory scale. Based on the experimental results, a reliable strict equilibrium phase model embedding the parameters of the UNIFAC model was established. On this basis, the conceptual process design and optimization of acetic acid removal by [EMIM][BF_4] at an industrial scale was done, and the most suitable design and operation parameters were obtained. For a further step, the binding energy between [EMIM][BF_4] and acetic acid was calculated to give some insights into the separation mechanism, and the results indicate that the interaction between acetic acid and IL is much stronger than that between nitrogen and IL. Moreover, hydrogen bond can be formed between the cation-acetic acid as well as the anion-acetic acid.

The extended homoclinic test function method is a kind of classic, efficient and well-developed method to solve nonlinear evolution equations. In this paper, with the help of this approach, we obtain new exact solutions （including kinky periodic solitary-wave solutions, periodic soliton solutions, and cross kink-wave solutions） for the new （2＋1）-dimensional KdV equation. These results enrich the variety of the dynamics of higher-dimensionai nonlinear wave field.

Developing new chemically recyclable polymers is important for a circular plastics ***,we prepared a class of 1,4-dithian-2-one(DTO)with thioether and thioester *** sulfur-substituted monomers(DTO)showed excellent reactivity for ring-opening polymerization(turnover frequency(TOF)up to 2.3×10^(4)h^(-1)),which afforded poly(thioetherthioester)s(P(DTO)s)with high air stability,high crystallinity,and commercial high-density polyethylene-like mechanical property(σB=29.59±1.08 MPa andεB=749%±36%).Intriguingly,chemical recycling of P(DTO)to monomer could be accomplished with excellent efficiency in dilute solution(1 min)at room temperature or even from a commodity plastic waste mixture under catalyst-free thermal bulk condition(180°C),thus establishing its circular life cycle.P(Me-DTO)could be applied for selective removal of Hg^(2+)with>99%removal *** importantly,Me-DTO could be recovered in high yield after utilization for Hg^(2+)adsorption.

Occurrence and distribution of antibiotic resistance genes in the sediments of the East China Sea bays

The coastal area of the East China Sea has experienced rapid urbanization and industrialization in China since 1980 s, resulting in severe pollution of its *** resistance genes(ARGs) are regarded as a kind of emerging pollutant with potential high risk. The sediment samples were collected from Hangzhou Bay(HB),Xiangshan Bay(XB), and Taizhou Bay(TB) to investigate the spatial occurrence and distribution of 27 ARGs and class I integron–integrase gene(intI1) in the coastal area of the East China Sea. The PCR results showed the frequent presence of 11 ARGs and intI1 in the sediments of the three bays. The qPCR results further showed that sulfonamide resistance was the most prevalent ARG type and antibiotic target replacement and protection were the most important resistance mechanisms in the sediments. Regarding the subtype of ARGs, sulI, tetW, and dfrA13 were the most abundant ARGs, in which sulI was higher in TB(based on both the absolute and relative abundances) and dfrA13 was higher in HB(based on the relative abundances). The network analysis revealed that intI1 had significant correlations with tetC, sulI, sulII, and blaPSE-1. Oil was the key connected factor, which had positive connections with sulI, sulII, and blaPSE-1. In addition, the joint effect of heavy metals and nutrients & organic pollutants might be crucial for the fate of ARGs in the coastal sediments.
