Hydrological models are effective tools for assessing the effects of soil and nutrient losses on land ***(Soil and Water Assessment Tool)model is widely used to simulate soil and nutrient losses caused by various management ***,its performance of predicting nutrient loss has not been assessed adequately on the Loess *** study proposed a modified SWAT model by incorporating the modified Soil Conservation Service curve number method,the storm-based Chinese soil loss equation and the nutrient loss *** observed daily data of runoff and sediment over 16 years and the monthly soluble phosphorus(P)and nitrate losses over 9 years and 4 years,respectively at the outlet of the upper Beiluo river(UBR)basin were used to assess the model *** sensitivity and uncertainty analyses of parameters to runoff,sediment,soluble P and nitrate in the modified SWAT were *** findings during calibration and validation showed that the modified SWAT was highly accurate in terms of model efficiency(calibration:0.83,0.83,0.48,and 0.49;validation:0.58,0.57,0.53,and 0.65)for runoff,sediment,soluble P loss and nitrate loss,*** model efficiency indicated that the modified SWAT could accurately predict soil and nutrient losses at the river basin scale for the Loess ***,the temporal variations from month to year and the spatial variations at the sub-basin scale for soil loss and the total N and P losses were analysed using the data simulated by the modified *** results indicated that the critical loss period occurred in July and August,and the Grain for Green project significantly affected the hydrological behaviour and reduced the soil and nutrient losses in the UBR basin.

Due to the lack of accurate data and complex parameterization,the prediction of groundwater depth is a chal-lenge for numerical *** learning can effectively solve this issue and has been proven useful in the prediction of groundwater depth in many *** this study,two new models are applied to the prediction of groundwater depth in the Ningxia area,*** two models combine the improved dung beetle optimizer(DBO)algorithm with two deep learning models:The Multi-head Attention-Convolution Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory networks(MH-CNN-LSTM)and the Multi-head Attention-Convolution Neural Network-Gated Recurrent Unit(MH-CNN-GRU).The models with DBO show better prediction performance,with larger R(correlation coefficient),RPD(residual prediction deviation),and lower RMSE(root-mean-square error).Com-pared with the models with the original DBO,the R and RPD of models with the improved DBO increase by over 1.5%,and the RMSE decreases by over 1.8%,indicating better prediction *** addition,compared with the multiple linear regression model,a traditional statistical model,deep learning models have better prediction performance.

The large number of oily wastewater discharges and oil spills are bringing about severe threats to environment and human *** to this challenge,a functional PAA-ZnO-HDTMS flax fiber with UV-induced switchable wettability was developed for efficient oil-water separation in this *** developed flax fiber was obtained through PAA grafted polymerization and then ZnO-HDTMS nanocomposite *** as-prepared PAA-ZnO-HDTMS flax fiber was hydrophobic initially and could be switched to hydrophilic through UV *** hydrophobicity could be easily recovered through being stored in dark environment for several *** optimize the performance of the PAA-ZnO-HDTMS flax fiber,the effects of ZnO and HDTMS concentrations on its switchable wettability were *** optimized PAA-ZnO-HDTMS flax fiber had a large water contact angle(∼130°)in air and an extremely small oil contact angle(∼0°)underwater *** UV treatment,the water contact angle was decreased to 30°,while the underwater oil contact angle was increased to more than 150°.Based on this UV-induced switchable wettability,the developed PAA-ZnO-HDTMS flax fiber was applied to remove oil from immiscible oil-water mixtures and oil-in-water emulsion with great reusability for multiple ***,the developed flax fiber could be further fabricated into oil barrier or oil sorbent for oil-water separation,which could be an environmentally-friendly alternative in oil spill response and oily wastewater treatment.

Measurement of self-development capacity in the contiguous destitute mountainous areas, China

Affected by the mountainous location and ecological vulnerability, the incidence of poverty in contiguous destitute mountainous areas is higher than that in other regions of China. Regional selfdevelopment capacity is an internal driving force for poverty reduction in contiguous destitute mountainous areas. This study selects 17 indicators from the four dimensions: industrial capacity, market capacity, spatial capacity and soft power to measure the overall self-development capacity of 658 counties in 14 different mountain areas in China. The results show that self-development capacity is at a low level and the development of the different regions is unbalanced. The self-development capacity is low in the southwest and high in the east and "low in the middle, high around" in each study region. It has achieved a certain degree of improvement in 2011, 2013 and 2015. From the perspective of the four dimensions, industrial capacity is the constraint on the promotion of self-development capacity. Based on this, we should develop green industries in line with local realities and achieve industrial poverty eradication, but the expansion of space capacity should take into account the resources and environmental carrying capacity in these areas and should not be blindly expanded. Local leaders should be made to improve the local education level and public service level, improve social infrastructure, develop reserve strength for the future, and enhance future development potential.

Copper oxides（CuOx） nanoparticles dispersed on activated carbon（AC） were prepared by using vaporphase methanol as the reducing agent. The CuOx/AC as prepared exhibited an enhanced catalytic activity in oxidative carbonylation of methanol to dimethyl carbonate（DMC）. The catalytic performance was significantly influenced by reduction conditions including temperature and time. With the similar selectivity of DMC, the space time yield（STY） under optimal reduction conditions reached up to 408 mg g^-1h^-1, which is superior to conventional methods such as thermolysis and solvothermal reduction. Based on the characterization results of XRD, TEM and XPS, the good copper dispersion and high Cu^＋ content obtained by vapor-phase methanol reduction were mainly responsible for the high catalytic activity.

Unbiased readings of fossils are well known to contradict some of the popular molecular groupings among primates,particularly with regard to great apes and *** molecular methodologies today are however flawed as they are based on a mistaken theoretical interpretation of the genetic equidistance phenomenon that originally started the *** improved molecular method the 'slow clock' was here developed based on the Maximum Genetic Diversity hypothesis,a more complete account of the unified changes in genotypes and *** method makes use of only slow evolving sequences and requires no uncertain assumptions or mathematical corrections and hence is able to give definitive *** findings indicate that humans are genetically more distant to orangutans than African apes are and separated from the pongid clade ～17.6 million years ***,tarsiers are genetically closer to lorises than simian primates ***,the fossil times for the radiation of mammals at the K/T boundary and for the Eutheria-Metatheria split in the Early Cretaceous were independently confirmed from molecular dating calibrated using the fossil split times of gorilla-orangutan,mouse-rat,and ***,the re-established primate phylogeny indicates a remarkable unity between molecules and fossils.
