λ/20-Thick cavity for mimicking electromagnetically induced transparency at telecommunication wavelengths

Optical cavities play crucial roles in enhanced light–matter interaction, light control, and optical communications, but their dimensions are limited by the material property and operating *** planar cavities are urgently in demand for large-area and integrated optical devices. However,extremely reducing the planar cavity dimension is a critical challenge, especially at telecommunication wavelengths. Herein, we demonstrate a type of ultrathin cavities based on large-area grown Bi2Te3topological insulator（TI） nanofilms, which present distinct optical resonance in the near-infrared region. The result shows that the Bi2Te3TI material presents ultrahigh refractive indices of >6 at telecommunication wavelengths. The cavity thickness can approach 1/20 of the resonance wavelength, superior to those of planar cavities based on conventional Si and Ge high refractive index materials. Moreover, we observed an analog of the electromagnetically induced transparency（EIT） effect at telecommunication wavelengths by depositing the cavity on a photonic crystal. The EIT-like behavior is derived from the destructive interference coupling between the nanocavity resonance and Tamm plasmons. The spectral response depends on the nanocavity thickness, whose adjustment enables the generation of obvious Fano *** experiments agree well with the simulations. This work will open a new door for ultrathin cavities and applications of TI materials in light control and devices.

Green hydrogen is urgently required for sustainable development of human beings and rational construction of heterostructures holds great promising for photocatalytic hydrogen ***,2D/2D WSe2/ZnIn2S4heterostructures with strong hetero-interface interaction and abundant contact were constructed via an impregnation-annealing *** charge transfer from ZnIn2S4to WSe2was evidenced by transient absorption spectroscopy in crafted heterostructures owing to the tight and2D face-to-face *** a result,the prepared WSe2/ZnIn2S4heterostructures exhibited boosted photocatalytic performance and a highest hydrogen evolution rate of 3.377 mmol/（g h） was achieved with an apparent quantum yield of 45.7% at 420 *** work not only provides new strategies to achieve efficient 2D/2D heterostructures but also paves the way for the development of green hydrogen in the future.

In organic solar cells(OSCs),it is an effective way to improve the power conversion efficiency(PCE)by adding a guest component with appropriate absorption and energy levels in the host ***,a new nonfullerene acceptor(NFA)named TBF-2Cl was developed by the strategy of expanding theπconjugated core of 2,2’-(((4,4,9,9-tetrahexyl-4,9-dihydro-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b’]dithiophene-2,7-diyl)bis(methaneylylidene))bis(5,6-dichloro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-2,1-diylidene))dimalononitrile(IDT-4Cl)with two benzene *** increase of benzene units,TBF-2Cl exhibits higher lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(luMO)level of-3.75 eV than that of one benzene unit based NFA IDT-4Cl and fluorene core based NFA F-2Cl,which facilitates enhancing the open-circuit voltage(V_(oc))of ternary ***,TBF-2Cl film shows a medium optical bandgap with the absorption range from 500-800 nm,being well complementary with the wide bandgap polymer donor D18 and narrow bandgap NFA ***,a remarkable PCE of 18.92%with a high short-circuit current density(J_(sc))of 27.40 mA·cm^(-2),a fill factor(FF)of 0.749,especially an outstanding V_(oc) of 0.922 V was achieved for the optimal ternary device based on D18:TBF-2Cl:CH-6F,surpassing the binary counterpart(17.08%).The findings provide insight into the development of new guest acceptors for obtaining more efficient OSCs.

Spatiotemporal variation of rainy season span and precipitation recorded by lacustrine laminated pollen in the Tibetan Plateau during the past two millennia

The quantitative reconstruction of the length of the rainy season and precipitation on the Tibetan Plateau(TP) is crucial for revealing the spatiotemporal evolution of the Westerlies and Asian summer monsoon, as well as its ecological and environmental effects. Accurately determining the start and end times of the rainy season on the Plateau remains *** study determined the start and end times of the rainy season in different locations on the Plateau by identifying precipitation inflection points. We calculated the duration and precipitation amount of the rainy season and established a transfer function between the modern pollen assemblages and them. Then, we reconstructed the rainy season variations in Kusai Lake(northern TP) and Jiang Co(central TP) during the past two millennia. The results showed that, the rainy season precipitation in Kusai Lake recorded five periods of high precipitation: AD 580–680, 1000–1100, 1200–1450, 1550–1780, and 1920–present, corresponding to the stages with long rainy season. The rainy season precipitation sequence in Jiang Co recorded four periods of high precipitation: AD 80–500, 800–950, 1250–1450, and 1780–present, which is consistent with the long rainy season before AD 1000 but unclear afterward. Spatially, rainy season precipitation on the Plateau exhibited four patterns: “wet in both north and south” may be related to abnormally strong summer monsoons;“dry in both north and south” likely associated with weak Westerly wind and weak summer monsoon;“wet in the south and dry in the north” linked to strong summer monsoon and weak Westerly wind;and “dry in the south and wet in the north” connected to weak summer monsoon and strong Westerly wind. This study revealed the spatiotemporal evolution pattern of the rainy season onset and end, duration, and precipitation amount on the Plateau over the past two millennia. Two-phase early prediction method for remaining useful life of lithium-ion batteries based on a neural network and Gaussian process regression

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are widely used in transportation,energy storage,and other *** prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)of lithium batteries not only provides a reference for health management but also serves as a basis for assessing the residual value of the *** order to improve the prediction accuracy of the RUL of LIBs,a two-phase RUL early prediction method combining neural network and Gaussian process regression(GPR)is *** the initial phase,the features related to the capacity degradation of LIBs are utilized to train the neural network model,which is used to predict the initial cycle lifetime of 124 *** Pearson coefficient’s two most significant characteristic factors and the predicted normalized lifetime form a 3D *** Euclidean distance between the test dataset and each cell in the training dataset and validation dataset is calculated,and the shortest distance is considered to have a similar degradation pattern,which is used to determine the initial Dual Exponential Model(DEM).In the second phase,GPR uses the DEM as the initial parameter to predict each test set’s early RUL(ERUL).By testing four batteries under different working conditions,the RMSE of all capacity estimation is less than 1.2%,and the accuracy percentage(AP)of remaining life prediction is more than 98%.Experiments show that the method does not need human intervention and has high prediction accuracy.

Two-layer Lagrange-based relay network topology and trajectory design for solar system explorations

Exploration targeting outer planets and even the edge of the solar system is an emerging direction for the deep-space exploration in the next decades. To address this challenge, a novel two-layer Lagrangebased relay network topology is proposed in this study. Specifically, we utilize the Sun-Mars and Sun-Saturn Lagrange points(LPs) L4 and L5 to build a two-layer backbone relay network, which ensures continuous and high-efficiency communication capability for the exploration of the solar system. Furthermore, we utilize the planetary gravity assist and design the transfer trajectory of backbone relays with the help of planetary celestial body motion equations and Kepler's laws. Moreover, we conduct link budget analysis for multihop relay transmission under Gamma-Gamma distribution, shadowed Rician fading, and additive white Gaussian noise channels in several typical exploration scenarios and validate that the LP relays can effectively support future deep-space exploration missions.
