BACKGROUND Because of the mild inflammatory status in acute uncomplicated appendicitis,our team developed a novel technical protocol for single-port laparoscopic appendec-tomy using needle-type grasping forceps(SLAN)and achieved positive clinical ***,the intraoperative procedure lacked stability and fluency due to a series of problems highlighted by the small incision design of the proto-col(only 1 cm long).Therefore,there is a growing clinical demand to further opti-mize the SLAN *** SUMMARY An adult male patient was admitted for persistent right lower abdominal pain with preoperative computed tomography findings suggestive of appendicitis accompanied by localized peritonitis.A modified technical protocol for SLAN based on minimally invasive surgical principles was used,and the patient was confirmed to have acute simple appendicitis by postoperative pathological *** recovery was uneventful,and no postoperative complications,such as incision infection or severe incision pain,were *** patient was discharged successfully on postoperative day *** The modified technical protocol of SLAN may be a new minimally invasive surgical alternative for patients with acute simple appendicitis.

为研究腹板斜裂缝对钢筋混凝土梁剪切变形的影响程度,设计制作了以大标距机械式应变计为基础的框格应变测量装置,并通过模型试验等手段开展了测试与分析。试验采用1组小剪跨比混凝土工字梁试件,有等高度和变高度2种截面形式;在每个试件的腹板外侧,布置了5个框格应变测量装置,通过测量每一框格5个杆件的应变,应用理论模型推算出不同位置处框格的弯曲应变和剪切应变,实现斜裂缝开展前后应变的连续观测。研究结果表明:框格测试装置能实现梁体剪切变形与弯曲变形精确分离;薄腹梁腹板开裂后,剪切变形在总变形中的比例超过50%,箍筋屈服时,剪切变形可达到总变形的90%左右;配箍率与有效抗剪高度对开裂后剪切变形有显著影响;应用框格大标距的测试方法,有助于推动弹塑性极限状态下混凝土梁抗剪刚度的深入研究。

Nano zero-valent iron(nZVI)is a promising phosphate adsorbent for advanced phosphate ***,the rapid passivation of nZVI and the low activity of adsorption sites seriously limit its phosphate removal performance,accounting for its inapplicability to meet the emission criteria of 0.1 mg P/L *** this study,we report that the oxalate modification can inhibit the passivation of nZVI and alter the multi-stage phosphate adsorption mechanism by changing the adsorption *** expected,the stronger antipassivation ability of oxalate modified nZVI(OX-nZVI)strongly favored its phosphate ***,the oxalate modification endowed the surface Fe(III)sites with the lowest chemisorption energy and the fastest phosphate adsorption ability than the other adsorption sites,by in situ forming a Fe(III)-phosphate-oxalate ternary complex,therefore enabling an advanced phosphate removal *** an initial phosphate concentration of 1.00 mg P/L,pH of 6.0 and a dosage of 0.3 g/L of adsorbents,OX-nZVI exhibited faster phosphate removal rate(0.11 g/mg/min)and lower residual phosphate level(0.02 mg P/L)than nZVI(0.055 g/mg/min and 0.19 mg P/L).This study sheds light on the importance of site manipulation in the development of high-performance adsorbents,and offers a facile surface modification strategy to prepare superior iron-basedmaterials for advanced phosphate removal.

Lake ecosystems are extremely sensitive to nitrogen growth,which leads to water quality degradation and ecosystem health *** depositions,as one of the main sources of nitrogen in water,are expected to change under future climate change ***,it remains not clear how nitrogen deposition to lakes respond to future meteorological *** this study,a source-oriented version of Community Multiscale Air Quality(CMAQ)Model was used to estimate nitrogen deposition to 263 lakes in 2013 and under three RCP scenarios(4.5,6.0 and 8.5)in *** total deposition of 58.2 Gg nitrogen was predicted for all lakes,with 23.3 Gg N by wet deposition and 34.9 Gg N by dry *** and ammonium in aerosol phase are the major forms of wet deposition,while NH3 and HNO_(3)in gas phase are the major forms of dry *** emissions contribute to 57%of wet deposition and 44%of dry *** future meteorological conditions,wet deposition is predicted to increase by 5.5%to 16.4%,while dry deposition would decrease by 0.3%to 13.0%.Changes in wind speed,temperature,relative humidity(RH),and precipitation rates are correlated with dry and wet deposition *** predicted changes in deposition to lakes driven by meteorological changes can lead to significant changes in aquatic chemistry and ecosystem *** from future emission scenarios,different climate scenarios should be considered in future ecosystem health evaluation in response to nitrogen deposition.

The study of high-energy gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) involves complex synchrotron radiation and synchrotron self-Compton(SSC) scattering mechanisms with multiple parameters exhibiting a wide distribution. Recent advancements in GRB research, particularly the observation of very high energy(VHE,>100 Ge V) radiation, have ushered in a new era of multiwavelength exploration, offering fresh perspectives and limitations for understanding GRB radiation mechanisms. This study aimed to leverage VHE observations to refine constraints on synchrotron + SSC radiation from electrons accelerated by forward shocks. By analyzing two external environments—the uniform interstellar medium and stratified stellar wind medium, we conducted spectral and variability fitting for five specific bursts(GRB 180720B, GRB 190114C, GRB 190829A, GRB 201216C, and GRB 221009A) to identify the optimal parameters characterizing these events. A comparative analysis of model parameter distributions with and without VHE radiation observations reveals that the magnetic energy equipartition factor εBis more concentrated with VHE emissions. This suggests that VHE emissions may offer greater constraints on this microphysical parameter. Additionally, we found that the energy budget between VHE and ke V–Me V γ-ray emissions under the SSC radiation exhibits an almost linear relationship, which may serve as a tool to differentiate radiation mechanisms. We anticipate future statistical analyses of additional VHE bursts to validate our findings.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)is a novel meta-material which can form a smart radio environment by dynamically altering reflection directions of the impinging electromagnetic *** the prior literature,the inter-RIS links which also contribute to the performance of the whole system are usually neglected when multiple RISs are *** this paper we investigate a general double-RIS assisted multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)wireless communication system under spatially correlated non line-of-sight propagation channels,where the cooperation of the double RISs is also *** design objective is to maximize the achievable ergodic rate based on full statistical channel state information(CSI).Specifically,we firstly present a closedform asymptotic expression for the achievable ergodic rate by utilizing replica method from statistical *** a full statistical CSI-enabled optimal design is proposed which avoids high pilot training overhead compared to instantaneous CSI-enabled *** further reduce the signal processing overhead and lower the complexity for practical realization,a common-phase scheme is proposed to design the double *** results show that the derived asymptotic ergodic rate is quite accurate even for small-sized antenna *** the proposed optimization algorithm can achieve substantial gain at the expense of a low overhead and ***,the cooperative double-RIS assisted MIMO framework is proven to achieve superior ergodic rate performance and high communication reliability under harsh propagation environment.

The grain size of TiAl alloy castings prepared by traditional casting process is coarse,thus showing poor mechanical *** this study,a new type of high performance Ti-46Al alloy tube prepared by vacuum centrifugal casting technology was *** research comprehensively examined the influence of pouring time on the microstructure and mechanical performance of the castings,employing both experimental approaches and ProCast simulation *** findings indicate that prolonging the pouring time facilitates a microstructural evolution from coarse columnar grains to refined equiaxed *** the condition of pouring temperature of 1,600℃,rotation speed of 800 r·min^(-1) and pouring time of 6 s,the tensile strength of Ti-46Al alloy at room temperature reaches 650 MPa,and the tensile strength at 800℃ reaches 705 MPa,which is significantly higher than that of traditional as-cast Ti-Al alloy.

AIM:To evaluate long-term outcomes of radiofrequency(RF) ablation as first-line therapy for single hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) ≤ 3 cm and to determine survival and prognostic ***:We included all 184 patients who underwent RF ablation as a first-line treatment for single HCC ≤ 3 cm between April 2005 and December *** to the criteria of Livraghi,the 184 patients were divided into two groups:those suitable for surgical resection(84 cases) and those unsuitable for surgical resection(100 cases).The primary endpoints were the overall survival(OS) rate and safety;the secondary endpoints were primary technique effectiveness and recurrence ***:There were 19(10.3%) cases of ablation related minor *** complete tumor ablation rate after one RF session was 97.8%(180/184).The rate of local tumor progression,extrahepatic metastases and intrahepatic distant recurrence were 4.9%(9/184),9.8%(18/184) and 37.5%(69/184),*** the 184 patients,the 1-,3-,and 5-year OS rates were 99.5%,81.0%,and 62.5%,*** 1-,3-,and 5-year OS rates were 100%,86.9%,and 71.4%,respectively,in those suitable for surgical resection and 99.0%,76.0%,and 55.0%,respectively,in those unsuitable for surgical resection(P = 0.021).On univariate and multivariate analyses,poorer OS was associated with Child-Pugh B class and portal hypertension(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:RF ablation is a safe and effective treatment for single HCC ≤ 3 *** OS rate of patients suitable for surgical resection was similar to those reported in surgical series.
