The Hydraulic Fracturing Optimization for Stacked Tight Gas Reservoirs Using Multilayers and Multiwells Fracturing Strategies

Based on a geology-engineering sweet spot evaluation,the high-quality reservoir zones and horizontal well landing points were ***,fracture propagation and production were simulated with a multilayer fracturing *** optimal hydraulic fracturing strategy for themultilayer fracturing networkwas determined by introducing a vertical asymmetry *** strategy aimed to minimize stress shadowing effects in the vertical direction while maximizing the stimulated reservoir volume(SRV).The study found that the small vertical layer spacing of high-quality reservoirs and the presence of stress-masking layers(with a stress difference of approximately 3∼8 MPa)indicate that interlayer stress interference from multilayers and multiwells fracturing between neighboring developed formations could affect the longitudinal propagation of the *** addition,this study investigated well spacing optimization by comparing uniformly spaced wells(100–300 m)with asymmetric spaced wells(200 m upper layer,250 m lower layer).Numerical results indicated that asymmetric spaced well placement yielded the largest stimulated reservoir volume(SRV)of 73,082 m^(3),representing a 65.42%increase compared to 100 m spaced ***,four different hydraulic fracturing sequences(interlayer,up-down,down-up,and center-edge)were compared for multilayer and multiwell *** center-edge sequence exhibited the lowest vertical asymmetry factor(0.71)and the least stress shadowing effects compared to the other sequences(0.78 for interlayer,0.75 for up-down,and 0.76 for down-up).This sequence also achieved the largest SRV(486,194m^(3)),representing an 11.87%increase compared to the down-up ***,the center-edge fracturing sequence is recommended formultilayer development in this *** results offer valuable insights for optimizing well placement and fracturing sequence design in multilayer well networks,ultimately advancing the development of multila

Although the internal electric field(IEF)of photocatalysts is acknowledged as a potent driving force for photocharge separation,modulating the IEF intensity to achieve enhanced photocatalytic performances remains a ***,cuprous sulfide nanosheets with different Cu vacancy concentration were employed to study IEF modulation and corresponding direct charge *** the samples,Cu_(1.8)S nanosheets possessed intensified IEF intensity compared with those of Cu_(2)S and Cu_(1.95)S nanosheets,suggesting that an enhanced IEF intensity could be achieved by introducing more Cu *** intensified IEF of Cu_(1.8)S nanosheets induced numerous photogenerated electrons to migrate to its surface,and the dissociative electrons were then captured by Cu vacancies,resulting in efficient charge separation *** addition,the Cu vacancies on Cu_(1.8)S nanosheets accumulated electrons as active sites to lower the energy barrier of rate-determining step of CO_(2)photoreduction,leading to the selective conversion of CO_(2)to ***,the manipulation of IEF intensity through Cu vacancy concentration regulation of cuprous sulfide photocatalysts for efficient charge separation has been discussed,providing a scientific strategy to rationally improve photocata lytic performances for solar energy conversion.

Phase order in one-dimensional piecewise linear discontinuous map

The phase order in a one-dimensional（1 D） piecewise linear discontinuous map is investigated. The striking feature is that the phase order may be ordered or disordered in multi-band chaotic regimes, in contrast to the ordered phase in continuous systems. We carried out an analysis to illuminate the underlying mechanism for the emergence of the disordered phase in multi-band chaotic regimes, and proved that the phase order is sensitive to the density distribution of the trajectories of the attractors. The scaling behavior of the net direction phase at a transition point is observed. The analytical proof of this scaling relation is obtained. Both the numerical and analytical results show that the exponent is 1, which is controlled by the feature of the map independent on whether the system is continuous or discontinuous. It extends the universality of the scaling behavior to systems with discontinuity. The result in this work is important to understanding the property of chaotic motion in discontinuous systems.

In this letter the scaling properties of the period-adding sequences in a so-called“multiple Devil’s staircase”are *** is certified both analytically and numerically that the width of the i-th phase-locked plateau in a sequence scales as In|Δe(i)|∝i,and the position of the plateau scales as In|e_(∞)-e_(i)|∝*** properties are qualitatively different from those of the period-adding sequences in conventional Devil’s staircases.

Environmental boundary and formation mechanism of different types of H2S corrosion products on pipeline steel

To establish an adequate thermodynamic model for the mechanism of formation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) corrosion products, theoretical and experimental studies were combined in this work. The corrosion products of API X60 pipeline steel formed under different H2S corrosion conditions were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. A thermodynamic model was developed to clarify the environmental boundaries for the formation and transformation of different products. Presumably, a dividing line with a negative slope existed between mackinawite and pyrrhotite. Using experimental data presented in this study combined with previously published results, we validated the model to predict the formation of mackinawite and pyrrhotite on the basis of the laws of thermodynamics. The established relationship is expected to support the investigation of the H2S corrosion mechanism in the oil and gas industry. © 2017, University of Science and Technology Beijing and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Comparison study of slag corrosion resistance of MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO and MgO–C refractories under electromagnetic field

To illuminate the corrosion behavior of MgO-based refractories under electromagnetic field(EMF),herein,the slag corrosion and penetration resistance of MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories were investigated using the rotary immersion slag resistance test at 1873 K for 1 *** results showed that the order of the good slag resistance of as-tested refractories was MgO–C>MgO–CaO>MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4).The EMF accelerated the corrosion and penetration of slag to the refractories,which caused the molten slag to be easier into the refractories by natural convection and Marangoni *** addition,the MgO–C refractories did not show an overwhelming advantage in slag resistance because EMF impeded the formation of the dense protection ***,in view of the present results,the MgO–C refractories are still the most promising slag line material for refining furnace among MgO–MgAl_(2)O_(4),MgO–CaO,and MgO–C refractories.

Two new diterpenoids taibairubescensin A (1) and B (2) have been isolated from Isodon rubescens. The structures of compound 1 and 2 were elucidated as 2 beta,3 beta-diacetoxy-11 beta,13 alpha-dihydroxy-ent-kaur- 16-en-15-one (1) and 3 beta,11 beta-diacetoxy-2 beta,6 alpha-dihydroxy-ent-kaur-16-en-15-one (2) on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 8-methyl-5-phenyl-4-thia-6-aza-spiro [2.5] oct-5-en-7-ol

The crystal structure of 8-methyl-5-phenyl-4-thia-6-aza-spiro [2.5] oct-5-en-7-ol （C13H15NOS, Mr=233.32） has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal belongs to orthorhombic, space group Pbca with a = 8.0929（8）, b = 12.9749（13）, c = 23.841（2）A, V = 2503.4（4）A^3, Z = 8, Dc = 1.238 g/cm^3, μ=0.237mm^-1, F（000） = 992, R = 0.0559 and wR = 0.1469. The X-ray diffraction analysis shows that two molecules of the title compound are connected with each other by O-H-N hydrogen bonds.

Thermally-induced cracking behaviors of coal reservoirs subjected to cryogenic liquid nitrogen shock

The benefits of using cryogenic liquid nitrogen shock to enhance coal permeability have been confirmed from experimental *** this paper,we develop a fully coupled thermo-elastic model in combination with the strain-based isotropic damage theory to uncover the cooling-dominated cracking behaviors through three typical cases,*** reservoirs containing a wellbore,a primary fracture,and a natural fracture network,*** progressive cracking processes,from thermal fracture initiation,propagation or cessation,deflection,bifurcation to multi-fracture interactions,can be well captured by the numerical *** is observed that two hierarchical levels of thermal fractures are formed,in which the number of shorter thermal fractures consistently exceeds that of the longer *** effects of coal properties related to thermal stress levels and thermal diffusivity on the fracture morphology are quantified by the fracture fractal dimension and the statistical fracture *** induced fracture morphology is most sensitive to changes in the elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient,both of which dominate the complexity of the fracture *** reservoir candidates with preferred thermal-mechanical properties are also recommended for improving the stimulation *** findings are that there exists a critical injection temperature and a critical in-situ stress difference,above which no thermal fractures would be *** natural fractures with higher density and preferred orientations are also essential for the formation of complex fracture *** obtained results can provide some theoretical support for cryogenic fracturing design in coal reservoirs.
