Interpretation and characterization of rate of penetration intelligent prediction model

Accurate prediction of the rate of penetration(ROP)is significant for drilling *** the intelligent ROP prediction model based on fully connected neural networks(FNN)outperforms traditional ROP equations and machine learning algorithms,its lack of interpretability undermines its *** study proposes a novel interpretation and characterization method for the FNN ROP prediction model using the Rectified Linear Unit(ReLU)activation *** leveraging the derivative of the ReLU function,the FNN function calculation process is transformed into vector *** FNN model is linearly characterized through further simplification,enabling its interpretation and *** proposed method is applied in ROP prediction scenarios using drilling data from three vertical wells in the Tarim *** results demonstrate that the FNN ROP prediction model with ReLU as the activation function performs exceptionally *** relative activation frequency curve of hidden layer neurons aids in analyzing the overfitting of the FNN ROP model and determining drilling data *** the well sections with similar drilling data,averaging the weight parameters enables linear characterization of the FNN ROP prediction model,leading to the establishment of a corresponding linear representation ***,the quantitative analysis of each feature's influence on ROP facilitates the proposal of drilling parameter optimization schemes for the current well *** established linear characterization equation exhibits high precision,strong stability,and adaptability through the application and validation across multiple well sections.

Exopolysaccharide produced by Vibrio neocaledonicus sp. as a green corrosion inhibitor:Production and structural characterization

An exopolysaccharide substances produced by Vibrio neocaledonicus sp. was introduced as a novel green inhibitor against the corrosion of carbon steel in artificial seawater and acidic media. The produced extracellular polymeric substance（EPS） is heterogeneous with composition of polysaccharides, nucleic acids and protein and average molecular weight of 29,572 Da. Adsorption of EPS on the metal surfaces and formation of Fe-EPS complexes acted as a barrier to prevent the oxygen penetration and hindered anodic and cathodic reactions. The inhibitory effect increases with increasing EPS concentration and exposure time. The highest corrosion inhibitory effect（95.1%） was observed for 10 g/L of EPS after 5 days of exposure in seawater. This is the highest inhibitory effect ever been reported by EPSs. While, the optimum concentration of EPS with the highest inhibition efficiency in 1 N H;SO;was 1000 ppm. The influence of different parameters, such as initial pH, growth phase, various nitrogen and carbon sources on the production of EPS and its corrosion inhibitory effect were also investigated. According to results,the optimum culture medium for EPS production is contained artificial seawater including 5% mannitol as carbon source and 0.1%（NH;）;SO;as nitrogen source at pH = 8. This medium could produce 22.24 g/L EPS during 3 days’ incubation at 30 ℃. The corrosion inhibitory efficiency of obtained EPS was 95.97%.

The role of the rare earth element Sm in as-cast Zn-5AI alloy was studied in this work.A three times higher improvement than the control group on corrosion resistance was found with rare earth Sm adding(0.15 wt%).By using an electron prove micro analyzer(EPMA),focused ion beam(FIB)and scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy(SKPFM)techniques,two main mechanisms of the premium performance of the Sm adding were *** was that the non-uniform nucleation and component undercooling induced by Sm adding,reduced theα-AI layer spacing thus improved the covering efficiency of the Al_(2)O_(3)*** other was that the dissolved Sm in the Zn/Al eutectic structure modulated the electron work function thus induced the attenuation of Volta potential *** experimental results show that when the addition of Sm is 0.15 wt%,the minimum Volta potential difference betweenα-AI andη-Zn phases is achieved,and excessive or deficient Sm addition will increase the Volta potential difference.

High-temperature frictional wear behavior of MCrAlY-based coatings deposited by atmosphere plasma spraying

Al2O3-r2O03/NiCoCrAIYTa coatings were prepared via atmosphere plasma spraying （APS）. The microstructure and phase com- position of the coatings were analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, laser confocal scanning microsco- py （LSCM）, and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The dry frictional wear behavior of the coatings at 500℃ in static air was inves- tigated and compared with that of 0Cr25Ni20 steel. The results show that the coatings comprise the slatted layers of oxide phases, unmelted particles, and pores. The hot abrasive resistance of the coatings is enhanced compared to that of 0Cr25Ni20, and their mass loss is approxi- mately one-fifteenth that of 0Cr25Ni20 steel. The main wear failure mechanisms of the coatings are abrasive wear, fatigue wear, and adhe- sive wear.

Estimation of carbon dioxide flux and source partitioning over Beijing, China

The magnitude and partitioning of carbon dioxide emission from the urban area in Beijing, China was estimated based on a statistical approach. Results showed that the urban surface is a net source of CO2 to atmosphere. The main sources of CO2 are vehicles, which accounted for 75.5% and 38.9% of CO2 emission in summer and winter, respectively. At midday in summer, the CO2 uptake of-0.034 mg/（m^***） indicated that vegetation is an important sink of CO2 in summer. Comparison between the annual emission rates of CO2 from the statistical approach and that directly measured by the eddy covariance technique implies that a bottom-up emission approach is a viable means to estimate CO2 emission in an urban area.

Spiking neural P systems with anti-spikes and without annihilating priority as number acceptors

Spiking neural P systems with anti-spikes （ASN P systems） are variant forms of spiking neural P systems, which are inspired by inhibitory impulses/spikes or inhibitory synapses. The typical feature of ASN P systems is when a neuron contains both spikes and anti-spikes, spikes and anti-spikes wil immediately annihilate each other in a maximal way. In this paper, a restricted variant of ASN P systems, cal ed ASN P systems without anni-hilating priority, is considered, where the annihilating rule is used as the standard rule, i.e., it is not obligatory to use in the neuron associated with both spikes and anti-spikes. If the annihilating rule is used in a neuron, the annihilation wil consume one time unit. As a result, such systems using two categories of spiking rules （identified by （a, a） and （a,a^-）） can achieve Turing completeness as number accepting devices.

Aerodynamic performance enhancement forflapping airfoils by co-flow jet

Introducing active flow control into the design of flapping wing is an effective way to enhance its aerodynamic *** this paper,a novel active flow control technology called Co-Flow Jet(CFJ)is applied to flapping *** effect of CFJ on aerodynamic performance of flapping airfoils at low Reynolds number is numerically investigated using Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(URANS)simulation with Spalart-Allmaras(SA)turbulence *** methods are validated by a NACA6415-based CFJ airfoil case and a S809 pitching airfoil *** NACA6415 baseline airfoil and NACA6415-based CFJ airfoil with jet-off and jet-on are simulated in flapping motion,with Reynolds number 70,000 and reduced frequency *** a result,CFJ airfoils with jet-on generally have better lift and thrust characteristics than baseline airfoils and jet-off airfoil when Cμgreater than 0.04,which results from the CFJ effect of reducing flow separation by injecting high-energy fluid into boundary ***,typical kinematic and geometric parameters,including the reduced frequency and the positions of the suction and injection slot,are systematically studied to figure out their influence on aerodynamic performance of the CFJ *** a variable Cμjet control strategy is proposed to further improve effective propulsive *** with using constant Cμ,an increase of effective propulsive efficiency by22.6%has been achieved by using prescribed variable CμNACA6415-based CFJ airfoil at frequency *** study may provide some guidance to performance enhancement for Flapping wing Micro Air Vehicles(FMAV).

Clean water generation with switchable dispersion of multifunctional Fe3O4-reduced graphene oxide particles

With the increased need for clean water and decreased supply of fresh water, purification of contaminated water can provide clean water that supplements the fresh water from nature. Physical adsorption, photo-degradation and solar-driven evaporation processes are promising ways to generate clean water with minimum environmental impact. However, different purification process requires different dispersion state of the treating agent to maximize its performance. Herein, we demonstrate that Fe3O4-reduced graphene oxide(MrGO) particles with switchable dispersion can be used as the multifunctional water treating agents to efficiently purify contaminated water through different processes. Under homogenously dispersed nanofluid mode, the MrGO particles have large exposed surface areas and can efficiently remove organic dye pollutants through physical adsorption. The uniform dispersion state also favors high contact efficiency facilitating decontamination of high concentration of organic compounds through solar-driven photocatalytic degradation by the MrGO particles. The excellent magnetic response of MrGO particles not only allows for easy collection of the treating agent from water but also enables assembly of MrGO at the air-water interface with external magnets. Under such interfacial assembled mode, clean water can be distilled out of the contaminated solution with high evaporation efficiency of 74.7% under simulated natural solar radiation. This work demonstrates that dispersion state can be used as another important means to optimize water purification performances.
