Cowpea is a nutrient-dense legume that significantly contributes to the population’s diet in sub-Saharan Africa and other regions of the *** cowpea cultivars to be more resilient to abiotic stress such as drought would be of great *** use of a multi-parent advanced generation intercross(MAGIC)population has been shown to be efficient in increasing the frequency of rare alleles that could be associated with important agricultural *** addition,drought tolerance index has been reported to be a reliable parameter for assessing crop tolerance to water-deficit ***,the objectives of this study were to evaluate the drought tolerance index for plant growth habit,plant maturity,flowering time,100-seed weight,and grain yield in a MAGIC cowpea population,to conduct genome-wide association study(GWAS)and identify single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)markers associated with the drought tolerance indices,to investigate the potential relationship existing between the significant loci associated with the drought tolerance indices,and to conduct genomic selection(GS).These analyses were performed using the existing phenotypic and genotypic data published for the MAGIC population which consisted of 305 F8 recombinant inbred lines(RILs)developed at University of California,*** results indicated that:(1)large variation in drought tolerance indices existed among the cowpea genotypes,(2)a total of 14,18,5,5,and 35 SNPs were associated with plant growth habit change due to drought stress,and drought tolerance indices for maturity,flowering time,100-seed weight,and grain yield,respectively,(3)the network-guided approach revealed clear interactions between the loci associated with the drought tolerance traits,and(4)the GS accuracy varied from low to *** results could be applied to improve drought tolerance in cowpea through marker-assisted selection(MAS)and genomic selection(GS).To the best of our knowledge,this is the first re

Molybdenum oxide(MoO_(3)), with superior features of multi-electrochemical states, high theoretical capacitance, and low cost, is a desirable supercapacitor electrode material but suffers from low conductivity and insufficient active sites. The MoO_(3) capacitance can be largely amplified by introducing oxygen(O) vacancies, but the mechanisms at the atomic scale are still ***, O vacancies are created at the O2 and O3 sites in the MoO_(3) nanobelts by carbonization to maximize the supercapacitance in the MoO_(2.39). The supercapacitive storage is mainly ascribed to the proton adsorption at the O1 sites to create Mo–OH, leading to an expansion of the interlayer spacing along the lattice B-axis. Roughly 98% of the initial supercapacitance is retained after 1000 cycles,due to the reversible change in the interlayer spacing. Our results provide an insight into the oxygen deficiency-related mechanisms of the supercapacitive performance at the atomic scale and devise a facile method to enhance the supercapacitance for energy storage and conversion.

In recent years, utilization of renewable sources for biofuel production is gaining popularity due to growing greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions which causes global warming. There has been a great effort in exploring alternative feedstock for bioethanol production. In this context, the production of third-generation bioethanol from macroalgae has emerged as an alternative feedstock to food crop-based starch and lignocellulosic *** is mainly due to the fast growth rate of macroalgae, no competition with agricultural land, high carbohydrate content and relatively simple processing steps compared to lignocellulosic biomass. This review paper provides an insight of recent innovative approaches for macroalgae bioethanol production, including conventional and advanced hydrolysis process to produce fermentable sugar, various fermentation technologies, economic analysis and life cycle assessment. With the current technology maturity, efficient utilization of macroalgae as sustainable source for bioethanol and other value-added chemicals production could be achieved in the near future.

An adaptive proportional–integral–derivative(PID)controller based on Q-learning algorithm is proposed to balance the cart–pole system in simulation *** controller was trained using Q-learning algorithm and implemented the learned Q-tables to change the gains of linear PID controllers according to the state of the system during the control *** adaptive PID controller based on Q-learning algorithm was trained from a set of fixed initial positions and was able to balance the system starting from a series of initial positions that are different from the ones used in the training session,which achieved equivalent or even better performances in comparison with the conventional PID controller and the controller only uses Q-learning *** indicates the advantage of the adaptive PID controller based on Q-learning algorithm both in the generality of balancing the cart–pole system from a relatively wide range of initial positions and in the stabilisability of achieving smaller steady-state error.

The underlying mechanisms of the relationships between tree species and the soil micro-food web in forest ecosystems remain uncertain,primarily ascribed to an insufficient understanding on how tree functional traits drive soil nematode communities,including in subtropical *** investigated the impacts of seven subtropical tree species(evergreen:Pinus massoniana,Mytilaria laosensis,Ilex chinensis,Michelia macclurei;and deciduous:Liquidambar formosana,Quercus acutissima,and Betula luminifera)on the soil nematode *** found that the abundance of soil nematodes was not affected by mycorrhizal types,but it was around 83%higher under the deciduous trees than the evergreen trees,indicating the importance of leaf phenology to the abundance of soil ***,both the evergreen and the arbuscular mycorrhizal trees increased soil nematode diversity,resulting from changes in root traits and soil ***,root traits(root C,root N,and root C:N ratio),and soil properties(total C,total N,moisture content,and bulk density)were the best predictors of the community composition of soil nematodes,indicating a key role of resource quality and soil microhabitat in regulating soil *** contrast,the ectomycorrhizal trees had lower plant parasite and Wasilewska indices,and evenness,whereas the evergreen trees slightly improved the evenness of soil *** study suggests that tree species affect the soil food web through changes in soil conditions and plant functional traits in subtropical forests.

通过几何比尺为2的两个有机玻璃模型的结构动力试验,验证了结构动力模型试验的弹性相似律和弹性力—重力相似律。得到了以下结论:(1)大小模型频率符合相似律,一阶频率误差为2.7%、4.1%,二阶频率误差为0、6.05%。弹性相似律比弹性力—重力相似律更适合于频率预测的试验。(2)大小模型的加速度、应变符合相似律,弹性相似律的加速度误差为-1.55%～8.75%,应变误差为0.377%～7.297%。弹性力—重力相似律的加速度误差为3.07%～4.158%,应变误差为6.849%～12.959%。(3)不同相似律大小模型的时间比尺吻合很好。加速度与应变时程曲线的波形一致,既无漏峰也无错峰。
