Functional structure and diversity of soil free-living nematodes in a desert environment depend on plant gender and sampling *** objective of this study was to compare the composition,abundance and tropic group of soil free-living nematodes in the upper 0–10 cm soil layer under the male and female Acanthosicyos horridus *** *** and in the inter-shrub open areas(control)in the Namib Desert,Namibia in April *** moisture,organic matter(Om)and pH was also ***-living nematodes were extracted from 100 g soil using the Baermann funnel procedure,and total number of nematodes was counted under a *** composition and diversity of soil free-living nematodes were analyzed using 18S rDNA *** indicated that a total of 67 groups,including 64 species,2 genera and 1 family were *** behavior of 58 species were identified as follows:15 bacteria-feeding species,12 fungi-feeding species,10 plant-parasite species,5 omnivorous-predator species,8 animal-parasite species,5 invertebrate-parasite species and 3 non-free-living nematodes,known as marine ***,soil free-living nematodes were found to be affected by sampling locations and plant gender,and community composition and density of these nematodes were strongly influenced by soil Om *** confirmed that spatial location and plant cover were main factors influencing the diversity of soil free-living ***,molecular tools were found to be very useful in defining the richness of soil non-free-living *** conclusion,the results elucidated the importance of biotic variables in determining the composition and abundance of soil free-living nematodes in the Namib Desert,Namibia.

Ultrafine-grained(UFG) high purity aluminum exhibits a variety of attractive mechanical properties and special deformation behavior. Equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) process can be used to easily and effectively refine metals. The microstructure and microtexture evolutions and grain boundary characteristics of the high purity aluminum(99.998%) processed by ECAP at room temperature are investigated by means of TEm and EBSD. The results indicate that the shear deformation resistance increases with repeated EACP passes, and equiaxed grains with an average size of 0.9 μm in diameter are formed after five passes. Although the orientations distribution of grains tends to evolve toward random orientations, and microtextures(80°, 35°, 0°),(40°, 75°, 45°) and(0°, 85°, 45°) peak in the sample after five passes. The grain boundaries in UFG aluminum are high-angle geometrically necessary boundaries. It is suggested that the continuous dynamic recrystallization is responsible for the formation of ultrafine grains in high purity aluminum. microstructure evolution in the high purity aluminum during ECAP is proposed.

Clinical and epidemiologic variations of esophageal cancer in Tanzania

AIm: To estimate the incidence of esophageal cancer(EC) in Kilimanjaro in comparison to other regions in Tanzania. mETHODS: We also examined the clinical, epidemiologic, and geographic distribution of the 1332 EC patients diagnosed and/or treated at Ocean Road Cancer Institute(ORCI) during the period 2006-2013. medical records were used to abstract patient information on age, sex, residence, smoking status, alcohol consumption, tumor site, histopathologic type of tumor, date and place of diagnosis, and type and date of treatment at ORCI. Regional variation of EC patients was investigated at the level of the 26 administrative regions of Tanzania. Total, age- and sex-specific incidence rates were calculated. RESULTS: male patients 55 years and older had higher incidence of EC than female and younger patients. Of histopathologically-confirmed cases, squamous-cell carcinoma represented 90.9% of histopathologic types of tumors. The administrative regions in the central andeastern parts of Tanzania had higher incidence rates than western regions, specifically administrative regions of Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, and Tanga had the highest rates. CONCLUSION: Further research should focus on investigating possible etiologic factors for EC in regions with high incidence in Tanzania.

In this paper,we design a resource management scheme to support stateful applications,which will be prevalent in sixth generation(6G)*** from stateless applications,stateful applications require context data while executing computing tasks from user terminals(UTs).Using a multi-tier computing paradigm with servers deployed at the core network,gateways,and base stations to support stateful applications,we aim to optimize long-term resource reservation by jointly minimizing the usage of computing,storage,and communication resources and the cost of reconfiguring resource *** coupling among different resources and the impact of UT mobility create challenges in resource *** address the challenges,we develop digital twin(DT)empowered network planning with two elements,i.e.,multi-resource reservation and resource reservation ***,DTs are designed for collecting UT status data,based on which UTs are grouped according to their mobility ***,an algorithm is proposed to customize resource reservation for different groups to satisfy their different resource ***,a meta-learning-based approach is developed to reconfigure resource reservation for balancing the network resource usage and the reconfiguration *** results demonstrate that the proposed DTempowered network planning outperforms benchmark frameworks by using less resources and incurring lower reconfiguration costs.

Aims Conduct a quantitative,but rapid,regional-level assessment of the alpine flora across northwest Yunnan(NWY)to provide a broadbased understanding of local and regional patterns of the composition,diversity and health of alpine ecosystems across *** A stratified random sampling design was employed to select sites across the different mountain ranges of *** was sampled by stratifying each site by the three major alpine vegetation community types:meadow,dwarf shrub and *** 50-m transects were randomly located within each community type at each sampling site with 101-m^(2) subplots systematically placed along each *** variables were recorded at each *** analyses were used to classify the major plant community assemblages and link community patterns to environmental and habitat *** Findings Forb species richness varied from 19 to 105 species per site(21 sites total)with an average of 59 species per site(60 m^(2) sampled per site).most species were patchily distributed with narrow distributions and/or small population sizes;over half the species occurred at only one or two *** species assemblages were identified in the meadow vegetation that was strongly aggregated by geographic location suggesting the presence of distinct phytogeographic zones of the meadow alpine *** and geographic location were the dominant environmental gradients underlying the variations in species ***’s coefficient of similarity averaged only 10%among sites indicating there was little similarity in the alpine flora across the *** alpine vegetation is highly heterogeneous across the complex landscape of the Hengduan mountains of *** strategies need to take into account the large geographic differences in the flora to maximize protection of biodiversity.
