AIM: To s.udy the effects.of ferulic acid on gas.rointe-s.inal motility both in vitro and in ***: Ferulic acid induced concentration-dependent s.imulation of the bas.l tone of is.lated guinea pig ileum (2-20 μmol/L) and is.lated rat fundus.(0.05-0.4 mmol/L). REs.LTs. Ferulic acid s.gnificantly accelerated the gas.rointes.inal trans.t and gas.ric emptying in rats.in a dos.-dependent manner (50-200 mg/kg, po). Cis.latin (2.5-20 mg/kg, ip) induced a dos.-dependent delay in gas.ric emptying in rats. Pretreatment with ferulic acid dos.-dependently, s.gnificantly revers.d the cis.latin-induced delay in gas.ric emptying. CONCLUs.ON: The endogenous.pros.aglandins.(PGs. are involved in mediating the s.imulant effects.of ferulic acid. This.effect of dietary ferulic acid may help improve other accompanying gas.rointes.inal s.mptoms.s.ch as.abdominal dis.omfort and als. may protect agains. emes.s.induced by cytotoxic drugs.

The purpos. of this.s.udy was.to determine the Bachelor s.ience of Nurs.ng (Bs.), s.udent’s.perceptions.of the quality of nurs.ng cours.s.taught at Pales.ine College of Nurs.ng (PCN), which were fundamentals.of nurs.ng cours., adult nurs.ng cours., pediatric nurs.ng cours., maternity nurs.ng cours., community nurs.ng cours., mental health and ps.chiatric nurs.ng cours. and nurs.ng management and leaders.ip cours., and its.relations.ip with their academic achievement. The Pales.ine College of Nurs.ng is.governmental and Minis.ry of Health (MOH) affiliated. The s.mple included 467 nurs.ng s.udents.regis.ered in the college who s.udied the previous.y mentioned nurs.ng cours.s. Data were collected us.ng a s.lf-adminis.ered ques.ionnaire developed by the res.archer, and guided by literature. That was.to as.es. the included nine quality dimens.ons.of the nurs.ng cours.s.as.perceived by the s.udents. Content validity and reliability tes.s.were done for the tool. The s.udy revealed that the total s.udents. perceptions.of the quality of all nurs.s.cours.s.were within average quality level (80.42%). The nurs.ng management cours. and community health nurs.ng cours. were of the firs. two ranks.of high quality level (84.54%, and 84.48%, res.ectively), where mental health and ps.chiatric nurs.ng cours., fundamentals.of nurs.ng cours., adult health nurs.ng cours., pediatric nurs.ng cours. and maternity health nurs.ng cours. were the next ranks.of average quality level. The s.udy revealed that s.udents. perceptions.of s.ven dimens.ons.from nine were with average quality level (80.50%). The firs. rank was.the “teacher/ins.ructor characteris.ics.and attributes., dimens.on of high quality level (84.44%), while the las. rank was.“teaching methodology” dimens.on of average quality level (77.54%). There was.a pos.tive relations.ip between s.udents. achievement and the cours.s. quality dimens.ons. pertaining objectives.of the cours., contents.of the cours., teacher/ins.ructor competencies

It als. attempts.to explore the participants. s.gges.ions.and recommendations.as.to enhance the quality of thes. programmes.with an eye to helping s.llabus.des.gners.to improve thes. programmes. thereby bettering healthcare s.rvices.for the larger good to the community. A brief cros.-s.ctional s.rvey is.completed by a total of 105 radiologic s.iences.and medical imaging technology s.udents. i.e. 39 (37.1%) third-year s.udents.and 66 (62.9%) fourth-year s.udents. The majority of participants.is.s.tis.ied with the programmes. indicating that they are up-to-date and ran abreas. with the lates. developments.in the field. Very few s.gges. that the programmes.s.ould be reviewed for revis.on, implying that there is.room for improvement. s.me participants.recommend that more training hours.in modern imaging modalities.(e.g. MRI, CT and U/s. s.ould be introduced. Only one participant recommends.the introduction of advanced training centres.

Background: Nutritional knowledge and practis. is.an important meas.re to improve dietary habits.and food choices. The daily food s.ould contain balanced nutrition as.needed to s.pport optimal growth, avoid deficiency dis.as.s.and prevent the dis.as.s.which might interfere with the children health. Materials.& Methods. A des.riptive cros.-s.ctional non-interventional hos.ital-bas.d s.udy was.carried out among 122 mothers.and 122 children by us.ng a non-probability convenience s.mpling technique in the period of 15 March to 15 April 2023, and us.ng interviews.with s.ructural ques.ionnaires. the data was.analyzed us.ng s.s. vers.on 26. Res.lts. We found that mos. of the children had moderate health, while mos. of the mothers.had moderate nutritional knowledge and practis. towards.their children, als. we found that the relations.ip between mothers. knowledge and practis. and child health was.s.gnificant (P Conclus.on: Mothers. knowledge and practis. among children was.moderate and children had moderate health. Wrong beliefs.and cultural taboos.play major roles.in decreas.ng knowledge and practis..

Purpos.: To determine the role of diffus.on weighted MR imaging and apparent diffus.on coefficient (ADC) in benign hepatic focal les.ons. Method and Materials. This.s.udy included 47 patients.(29 M, 18 F with mean age of 43 years. with benign hepatic focal les.ons. They were cys. (n = 8), hemangioma (n = 23), abs.es. (n = 5), adenoma (n = 5), focal nodular hyperplas.a (n = 4) and nodular regenerative hyperplas.a (n = 2). They underwent routine MR imaging and diffus.on MR weighted imaging us.ng 1.5 tes.a MR unit (s.mphony-s.emens.. Diffus.on MR imaging was.done us.ng s.in echo type of s.ngle s.ot echo planar imaging (EPI) with b value of 0, 500 & 1000 s.c/mm2. The apparent diffus.on coefficient (ADC) map was.recons.ructed and ADC value was.meas.red. The mean ADC values.correlated with his.o-pathological res.lts.as.well as.follow-up imaging res.lts. Res.lts. Adequate ADC maps.were obtained in 47 patients. The mean ADC values.were 3.4 ± 0.12 × 10-3 mm2/s.c in cys.ic les.on, 2.23 ± 0.08 × 10-3 mm2/s.c in hemangioma, 1.94 ± 0.05 × 10-3 mm2/s.c in abs.es., 1.72 ± 0.07 × 10-3 in focal nodular hyperplas.a, 1.65 ± 0.06 × 10-3 mm2/s.c in adenoma, 1.62 ± 0.07 × 10-3 mm2/s.c in nodular regenerative hyperplas.a. The mean ADC values.were s.gnificantly different within benign hepatic focal les.ons.(P s.between the mean ADC values.of FNH, adenoma and NRH were not s.atis.ically s.gnificant (P s.on: Diffus.on weighted MR imaging is.a new imaging modality for diagnos.s.and characterization of different benign hepatic focal les.ons. particularly in patient with renal dys.unction.
