Buried water pipelines are vulnerable to fail or break due to excessive loading or ground *** evaluation of pipe performance and serviceability relies on the proper understanding of pipe-soil interactions(PSI).Analytical methods are important approaches to studying ***,a systematic and thorough literature review to analyze the existing research trends,technological achievements and future research opportunities is not *** work investigates analytical methods that analyze the stress and deformation of pipes in terms of cross-sectional,transverse and longitudinal PSI ***,scientometric analysis is performed to acquire relevant research works from online databases and analyze the existing data of influential authors,productive research sources and frequent key word occurrence in the fields of ***,a qualitative discussion is performed in the three categories of PSI:(1)cross-sectional,including ovalization and circumferential behaviours;(2)transverse,including seismic fault crossing,weak soil zones,ground settlement and pipe uplift;and(3)***,six research opportunities are discussed,including the role of friction in cross-sectional deformation,combined effects of bending and compression,choice of soil reaction models and calibration of key parameters,effect of pipe flaws,soil spatial variability and behaviours of curved *** study helps beginners familiarize themselves with PSI analytical methods and provides experienced researchers with ideas for future research directions.

A high quality transportation system is necessary in a modem economy, and a road network is a common and significant, component of the system. Road systems have two major objectives： to enable the movement of passenger vehicles and the movement of freight vehicles at reasonable speeds. An important part of the transportation system and an expensive investment, a functional road network must meet both objectives to main- tain an efficient economy. In Australia, the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development reported that, in 2011/12, the total road length was approximately 900,000 kin, and the total road expenditure was approximately $19 billion. Good policy requires that infrastructure investments provide a return on investment, thus warranting judicious management to ensure that it is maintained in a cost effective manner. Recent studies in Queensland, Australia, have identified differences between financial and engi- neering professionals in their understanding of infrastructure depreciation, condition deterioration, and future funding needs. Furthermore, the Queensland Asset Sustainability Ratio （ASR） requires clearer definitions to ensure that infrastructure remains meaningful to all users. This study proposes a separate sustainability index for road pavements （SIR） unlike the ASR that combines all type of assets. The justification is our ability to assess road condition, the high value of road assets, relative value to other infrastructure, and advanced knowledge of deterioration relative to other infrastructure. The SIR involves community consultation to target an average pavement condition index （PCI）. This study also provides an alternative method to determine the optimal target PCI for a local

Zero Flux Eigenvalues (ZFE’s) of Tight Aspect Ratio Tokamaks

Compact toroidal magnetized plasmas are an important part of the world’s magnetic fusion and plasma science efforts. These devices can play an integral role in the development of magnetic fusion as a viable commercial energy source, and in our understanding of plasma instabilities, particle and energy transport, and magnetic field transport. In this paper, we are developing a numerical program to study the magnetic dynamo or relaxation of CT’s characterized by arbitrary tight aspect ratio (major to minor radii of tokamak) and arbitrary cross-sections (Multi-pinch and D-Shaped). The lowest ZFE’s has been calculated through the Taylor’s relaxed state (force-free) toroidal plasmas equation. For ZFE’s, we use the toroidal flux vanishing boundary condition along the whole boundary of tokamaks. Several runs of the program for various wave numbers showed that ZFE was very insensitive to the choice of wave numbers. Besides, the CT’s poloidal magnetic field topologies are well represented. It was very interesting to check our methods for the cases when aspect ratio tends to unity (zero tokamak whole). A good fulfillment of the boundary condition is achieved.

Kinetic Electron-Ion Two Streams Instability in Space Dusty Plasma with Temperature Gradient

The excitation, growing and damping of current instability is an important and vital subject for a lot of studies through its importance in communication for instance and in understanding the nature of space and the interpretation of many phenomena in space and astrophysics. Recent analytical and numerical works are presented to describe and investigate the excitation and growing of kinetic electron-ion two streams instability in anisotropic inhomogeneous dusty space plasmas. We elucidated the thermal effects of plasma species on the characteristics of such instability. It is found that the gradient of space plasma temperature, , is a cause of interesting physical phenomena. Besides, different parameters, such as electron to ion temperature ratio , magnetized plasma and dust grains, are also found to play a crucial role in the growth and depression of such instability.

Recent theoretical work on electron beam heating of magneto-active motional Plasma is presented. Power transfer from beam (plasma heating) and generated electric fields for different physical situations of linear and nonlinear beam-plasma interaction, are studied. Based on previous works [1] [2], we shall study the effects of dusts and plasma motion () on plasma heating. Besides, the case of an inhomogeneity of beam velocity () is also considered. Taking into consideration nonlinear process, dust, plasma motion, and beam velocity inhomogeneity, are found to play a crucial role via power absorbed by the beam and the generated electric field in the system.

Production of the Fusarium toxin deoxynivalenol(DON)is associated with oxidative stress and has been indicated to be part of an adaptive response to oxidative stress in the important wheat fungus Fusarium *** this study,we found that the antioxidant methyl gallate(MG)displays inhibitory effects against mycelial growth,conidial formation and germination,and DON biosynthesis in *** in a dose-dependent *** with 0.05%(w/v)MG resulted in an abnormal swollen conidial *** expression of the TRI genes involved in DON biosynthesis was significantly reduced,and the induction of Tri1-GFP green fluorescence signals in the spherical and crescent-shaped toxisomes was abolished in the MG-treated ***-Seq analysis of MG-treated *** showed that 0.5%(w/v)MG inhibited DON production by possibly altering membrane functions and oxidoreductase *** with the observations that MG treatment decreases catalase,POD and SOD activity in *** results of this study indicated that MG displays antifungal activity against DON production by modulating its oxidative *** together,the current study revealed the potential of MG in inhibiting mycotoxins in ***.

Rice(Oryza sativa L.)is one of the most important cereal crops in the *** disease is a significant rice disease widely distributed in rice-growing regions ***,the present investigation aimed to assess the optimal concentrations of paclobutrazol(PBZ)as a treatment for rice grains(*** 108)to control bakanae disease,also evaluating its impact on grain germination,seedling growth parameters as well as disease *** concentrations had no significant impact on seed germination,regardless of whether the seeds were incubated with Fusarium fujikuroi or *** of PBZ,either alone or in combination with fungal pathogens,negatively impacted the rice seedlings’*** at 25,50 and 100 mg/L,combined with the fungal pathogen positively impacted root *** at 3 and 6 mg/L mitigated the adverse impact on chlorophyll pigments content in infected *** highest proline contents were achieved by 100 mg/L PBZ alone or in combination with fungal *** has been observed that the application of PBZ,either alone or in combination with a fungal pathogen,leads to the enhancement of catalase,peroxidase,and polyphenol oxidase *** median lethal concentration of PBZ was 0.874 mg/L;applying low concentrations of paclobutrazol effectively increased the percentage of fungal growth *** of PBZ,at higher concentrations(50 and 100 mg/L),decreased infection percentage and disease severity index(DSI)*** findings suggest that PBZ can be an effective treatment for controlling bakanae disease and enhancing resistance in rice plants.

Inter-Observer Reliability of Fused Time-of-Flight MR Angiography and 3D Steady State Sequence versus 3D Contrast Enhanced Images in Evaluation of Neurovascular Compression

Purpose: Is to evaluate the accuracy of fused 3D time-of-flight (TOF) MR angiography and 3D Steady-State sequence (FIESTA) versus 3D contrast-enhanced T1 weighted images in evaluation of neurovascular compression via an inter-observer agreement protocol. Methods: Patients presented with trigeminal neuralgia, tinnitus, or facial hemispasm were examined using 3D-TOF-MRA, 3D-FIESTA, and 3D contrast-enhanced T1WI of the cerebellopontine angle to assess neurovascular compression. Two independent readers assessed the location, signal alteration, offending vascular structure, and grade of neurovascular compression using fused 3D-TOF-MRA and 3D-FIESTA versus contrast-enhanced T1 weighted images. The Kappa test for interobserver agreement was done. Results: The final study cohort consisted of 56 patients (42 females and 14 males) with a mean age of 38.25 ± 1.94. AICA was the offending vessel for 32 (57.1%) patients. The most common offending nerve was the trigeminal nerve in 26 patients, followed by facial/vestibulocochlear complex in 18 patients, and solely the 8th nerve in 12 patients. All three grades of compression were encountered in this study with percentages of 48.2% (27/56), 30.3% (17/56), and 21.4% (12/56) for grades I, II, III respectively. Fused TOF and steady-state images, and contrast-enhanced images showed perfect agreement for detection of the side of compression, the relation between nerve and vascular loop, offended neural segment, and offending vessel, while showing good agreement regarding the degree of compression. Conclusion: Fused TOF and steady-state images provide sufficient data to diagnose and grade microvascular compression syndromes comparable to contrast-enhanced images.

Major Hepatic Resection in Hepatic Hydatidosis

Background: Ecchinococcal disease is still a serious problem in certain parts of the world, with liver as the most affected organ. Surgery remains the mainstay of treatment of hydatidosis, but the optimal surgical procedure remains unsettled. Objective: Safety and efficacy of major hepatic resection in multiple and giant hepatic hydatidosis. Patients & Methods: 63 patients had hepatic hydatidosis associated with spleen, lung, and suprarenal hydatidosis were managed by major hepatic resection between April 2005 to April 2011. 43 (68%) males and 20 (32%) females, age range 8 - 56 years. Cysts were found in the liver only in 51 (81%) patients, liver with spleen in 5 (8%), liver, spleen with lung in 2 (3.1%), liver and lung in 4 (6.3%), liver and suprarenal in one patient (1.6%). Results: Multiple cysts were found in 38 (60%) and solitary cyst in 25 (40%) with Cysts diameter ≤5 cmin 22 (35%), 5 - 10 cm in 16 (25%), and 10 - 38 in 25 (40%). Right hepatectomy in 24 (38%), right trisectionectomy in 2 (3.2%), right hepatectomy with Segment III in 4 (6.3%), right hepatectomy with Segment I in 2 (3.2%), left hepatectomy in 12 (19%), left lateral sectionectomy in 6 (9.5%), left hepatectomy with Segment VI in 3 (4.8%), left lateral sectionectomy with right posterior sectionectomy in 2 (3.2%), right hepatectomy with splenectomy in 7 (11%) and right hepatectomy with right suprarenal in one (1.6%) patient were performed. Hospital stay was 4.2 (3 - 13 days) There was one mortality and 12 (19%) morbidities. No recurrence on follow up period (8 - 60 months) was observed. Conclusion: Radical procedure is safe and effective option for hepatic hydatidosis and should be performed when the entire lobe is diffusely involved by huge or multiple hydatidosis with little healthy liver tissue.
