This paper examines the relationships between natural resource dependence, public education investment, and human capital accumulation. It addresses why the “blessing” of abundant natural resources often turns into a “curse” in many countries and regions, focusing on the crowding-out effect of natural resources on human capital. According to our empirical analysis of provincial panel data from China, natural resource dependence is significantly and negatively correlated with human capital accumulation. The crowding-out effect of natural resources on human capital exists only in the central and western regions of China. Our introduction of an interaction term for natural resource dependence and public education investment underscores the possibility of investing in public education to reduce the crowding-out effect of natural resource dependence on human capital. The government should utilize the income of the natural resource sector to increase investment in education to enhance local human capital.

Based on nonequilibrium green's function method and density functional theory calculations,we investigate theoretically the electronic transport properties of 1,4-bis(fullero[c]pyrrolidinl-yl)benzene (BDC60).A low bias negative differential resistance with the peak-to-valley ratio as high as 305.41 is *** observed negative differential resistance is explained in terms of the evolution of the transmission spectra,molecular projected self-consistent Hamiltonian states and molecular projected energy levels with applied bias.

There is an urgent need to elucidate the pathogenesis of myocardial ischemia(MI)and potential drug ***,the anti-MI mechanism and material basis of ginkgo biloba ***(gBE)were studied from the perspective of energy metabolism flux *** flux analysis(MFA)was performed to investigate energy metabolism flux disorder and the regulatory nodes of gBE components in isoproterenol(ISO)-induced ischemia-like *** showed that[U-13 C]glucose derived m+2 isotopologues from the upstream tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle metabolites were markedly accumulated in ISO-injured cardiomyocytes,but the opposite was seen for the downstream metabolites,while their total cellular concentrations were *** indicates a blockage of carbon flow from glycolysis and enhanced anaplerosis from other carbon sources.A Seahorse test was used to screen for gBE components with regulatory effects on mitochondrial aerobic respiratory *** showed that bilobalide protected against impaired mitochondrial aerobic *** also showed that bilobalide significantly modulated the TCA cycle flux,reduced abnormal metabolite accumulation,and balanced the demand of different carbon *** blotting and PCR analysis showed that bilobalide decreased the enhanced expression of key metabolic enzymes in injured ***’s efficacy was verified by in vivo experiments in *** is the first report to show that bilobalide,the active ingredient of gBE,protects against MI by rescuing impaired TCA cycle *** provides a new mechanism and potential drug treatment for *** also shows the potential of MFA/Seahorse combination as a powerful strategy for pharmacological research on herbal medicine.

Studies concerning the association between arsenic exposure and hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection have been lacking. The present study aimed to examine the association between total urinary arsenic （TUA） and infection ofHBV. A total of 5186 participants from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey （NHANES） 2003-2014 were included in the analysis. We used logistic regression to evaluate the association. We defined two measures of TUA. TUA1 was the sum of arsenous acid, arsenicacid, monomethylarsonic acid and dimethylarsenic acid. TUA2 was defined as TUA minus arsenobetaine and arsenocholine. The results showed that the weighted overall prevalence of HBV infection was 6.08%. For NHANES 2003-2014, the medians （interquartile range） of TUA1 and TUA2 were 5.60 μg/L （3.97-8.09 μg/L） and 4.91 μg/L （2.36-9.11 μg/L）, respectively. Comparing the highest quartile to the lowest quartile after multivariable adjustment showed that the odds ratios （ORs） and 95% confidence intervals （CIs） for TUA1 and TUA2 were 2.44 （1.40-4.27） and 2.84 （1.60-5.05）, respectively. In conclusion, elevated urinary arsenic was associated with the risk of HBV infection. Further studies, especially prospective studies, are needed to confirm the causal relationship between arsenic exposure and HBV infection.

Cytoskeletal microtubule rearrangement and movement are crucial in the repair of spinal cord *** plays an important role in the regulation of microtubule *** spastin and collapsin response mediator proteins can regulate neurite growth and branching;however,whether spastin interacts with collapsin response mediator protein 3(CRMP3)during this process remains unclear,as is the mechanism by which CRMP3 participates in the repair of spinal cord *** this study,we used a proteomics approach to identify key proteins associated with spinal cord injury *** then employed liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry to identify proteins that were able to interact with glutathione ***,co-immunoprecipitation and staining approaches were used to evaluate potential interactions between spastin and ***,we co-transfected primary hippocampal neurons with CRMP3 and spastin to evaluate their role in neurite *** spectrometry identified the role of CRMP3 in the spinal cord injury repair *** chromatography-mass spectrometry pulldown assays identified three CRMP3 peptides that were able to interact with ***3 and spastin were co-expressed in the spinal cord and were able to interact with one another in vitro and in ***,CRMP3 overexpression was able to enhance the ability of spastin to promote neurite growth and ***,our results confirm that spastin and CRMP3 play roles in spinal cord injury repair by regulating neurite growth and *** proteins may therefore be novel targets for spinal cord injury *** Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Jinan University,China approved this study(approval ***-20181008-03)on October 8,2018.

The similar floatabilities of calcium minerals and the huge difference between scheelite and wolframite have resulted in difficulties during their separation by flotation in Shizhuyuan Mine. In this study, novel collectors, lead complexes of benzohydroxamic acid（Pb-BHA）,were introduced to modify the surface properties of scheelite and wolframite, thereby effectively and selectively improving floatability. The Pb-BHA complexes are found to be selective for the separation of scheelite and calcium minerals with little use of depressants and enable the synchronous flotation of scheelite and ***, a novel flotation process was developed for the recovery of tungsten minerals. The process is simplified greatly, and the recovery is improved by almost 10%.Removing or decreasing the amount of water glass contributes to the improvement of tungsten and fluorite recovery and the circulation of water and reagents, which benefits the environment.
