Endothelial progenitor cells secrete a variety of growth factors that inhibit inflammation, promote angiogenesis and exert neuroprotective effects. Therefore, in this study, we investigated whether endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium might have therapeutic effectiveness for the treatment of spinal cord injury using both in vitro and in vivo experiments. After primary culture of bone marrow-derived macrophages, lipopolysaccharide stimulation was used to classically activate macrophages to their proinflammatory phenotype. These cells were then treated with endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium or control medium. Polymerase chain reaction was used to determine mR NA expression levels of related inflammatory factors. Afterwards, primary cultures of rat spinal cord neuronal cells were prepared and treated with H2O2and either endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium or control medium. Hoechst 33258 and propidium iodide staining were used to calculate the proportion of neurons undergoing apoptosis. Aortic ring assay was performed to assess the effect of endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium on angiogenesis. Compared with control medium, endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium mitigated the macrophage inflammatory response at the spinal cord injury site, suppressed apoptosis, and promoted angiogenesis. Next, we used a rat model of spinal cord injury to examine the effects of the endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium in vivo. The rats were randomly administered intraperitoneal injection of PBS, control medium or endothelial progenitor cell-conditioned medium, once a day, for 6 consecutive weeks. Immunohistochemistry was used to observe neuronal morphology. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick-end labeling assay was performed to detect the proportion of apoptotic neurons in the gray matter. Designing low melting point and low basicity refining slag suitable for Fe-based amorphous alloys and understanding the inclusions’formation,removal,influencing mechanisms are quite vital in the fields of metallurgy and *** this study,a novel 13%SiO_(2)-32%CaO-30%Al_(2)O_(3)-25%B_(2)O_(3)(wt.%)refining slag was designed after careful calculations of the liquid phase region,slag-metal equilibrium,surface tension,viscosity,deoxidation capability and sulfur distribution *** refining with our designed slag,the content of impurities and the number density of inclusions in a representative Fe_(83)Si_(2)B_(15)(at.%)amor-phous alloy were significantly ***,the glass-forming ability(GFA)of the alloy was also enhanced,enabling the preparation of amorphous ribbons with a lower cooling *** on the impu-rities in Fe-based amorphous alloys as well as the calculated oxide and sulfide free energy diagrams,CaO,SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3) oxides and CaS,TiS,MnS sulfides will form in the master *** high melting point in-clusions in the melt are generally removed via a floatation-separation-absorption process and the Mn,Ti,S impurities are removed via slag-metal interface reactions during *** for the detrimental effect of inclusions on glass formation,the small lattice disregistry between Ti,Mn-containing inclusions and primaryα-Fe gains reveal that these inclusions are effective in promoting the heterogeneous nucleation,and therefore greatly deteriorate the *** findings are important and provide an ideal solution to purifying the Fe-based amorphous alloys by refining and enhancing the GFA for industrial production.

The acoustic environment of the classroom is one of the most important factors influencing the teaching and learning effects of the teacher and *** is critical to ensure good speech intelligibility in ***,due to some factors,it may not be easy to achieve an ideal classroom acoustic environment,especially in large-scale multimedia *** a real renovation project of 39 multimedia classrooms in a university,seven typical rooms were selected,and the acoustic environment optimisation design and verification for these multimedia classrooms were performed based on ***,the acoustic and sound reinforcement design schemes were determined based on the room acoustics software ***,the effects of the optimisation design were analysed,and the simulated and measured results were compared;the accuracy of using the reduced sound absorption coefficients,which were determined empirically,was also ***,the recommended reverberation times(RTs)in multimedia classrooms corresponding to speech intelligibility were discussed,the effectiveness of the speech transmission index(STI)as a primary parameter for classroom acoustic environment control was considered,and the acoustic environment under the unoccupied and occupied statuses was *** results revealed that although there are many factors influencing the effect of classroom acoustic environment control,an adequate result can be expected on applying the appropriate *** both the acoustic design and visual requirements also makes the classroom likely to have a good visual effect in addition to having a good listening environment.

Tidal bore is a special and intensive form of flow movement induced by tidal effect in estuary areas, which has complex characteristics of profile, propagation and flow velocity. Although it has been widely studied for the generation mechanism, propagation features and influencing factors, the curved channel will complicate the characteristics of tidal bore propagation, which need further investigation compared with straight channel. In this study, the flume experiments for both undular and breaking bores’ propagation in curved channel are performed to measure the freesurface elevation and flow velocity by ultrasonic sensors and ADV respectively. The propagation characteristics,including tidal bore height, cross-section surface gradient, tidal bore propagation celerity, and flow velocity are obtained for both sides of the curved channel. And three bore intensities are set for each type of tidal bores. The freesurface gradients are consistently enlarged in high-curvature section for undular and breaking bores, but have distinct behaviors in low-curvature section. The spatial distributions of tidal bore propagation celerity and flow velocity are compared between concave and convex banks. This work will provide experimental reference for engineering design of beach and seawall protection, erosion reduction and siltation promotion in estuary areas with the existence of tidal bores.
