Multimodal imaging diagnosis and analysis of prognostic factors in patients with adult-onset Coats disease

AIM:To describe the multimodal imaging features,treatment,and outcomes of patients diagnosed with adultonset Coats ***:This retrospective study included patients first diagnosed with Coats disease at≥18 years of age between September 2017 and September *** patients received anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)therapy(conbercept,0.5 mg)as the initial treatment,which was combined with laser photocoagulation as *** the patients underwent best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and intraocular pressure examinations,fundus color photography,spontaneous fluorescence tests,fundus fluorescein angiography,optical coherence tomography(OCT),OCT angiography,and other *** alterations and multimodal image findings in the affected eyes following treatment were compared and the prognostic factors were ***:The study included 15 patients who were aged 24-72(57.33±12.61)y at *** hypertension was the most common associated systemic condition,occurring in 13(86.7%)*** BCVA ranged from 2.0 to 5.0(4.0±1.1),which showed improvement following treatment(4.2±1.0).Multimodal imaging revealed retinal telangiectasis in 13 patients(86.7%),patchy hemorrhage in 5 patients(33.3%),and stage 2B disease(Shield’s staging criteria)in 11 patients(73.3%).OCT revealed that the baseline central macular thickness(CMT)ranged from 129 to 964μm(473.0±230.1μm),with 13 patients(86.7%)exhibiting a baseline CMT exceeding 250μ***,8 patients(53.3%)presented with an epiretinal membrane at baseline or during ***-reflective scars were observed on OCT in five patients(33.3%)with poor visual *** deteriorated in one patient who did not receive *** vision was stable in three patients who received laser treatment,whereas improvement was observed in one of two patients who received anti-VEGF therapy *** addition,8 of 9 patients(88.9%)who received laser treatment and conbercept exhibited sta

This paper presents an Eulerian diffuse-interface method using a high-order compact difference scheme for simulating elastic-plastic flows with the Mie–Gruneisen(MG)equation of state(EoS).For simulations of multimaterial problems,numerical errors were generated in the material discontinuities owing to inconsistent treatment of the convective *** on the normal-stress-based mechanical equilibrium assumption for elastic-plastic solids,we introduce an improved form of the consistent localized artificial diffusivity(LAD)method to ensure an oscillation-free interface for velocity and normal *** proposed algorithm uses a hyperelastic model.A mixture type of the model system was formed by combining the conservation equations for the basic conserved variables,an equation of a unified deviatoric tensor describing solid deformation,and an additional set of equations for solving the material quantities in the MG *** one-and two-dimensional problems with various discontinuities,including the elastic-plastic Richtmyer–Meshkov instability,were considered for testing the proposed method.

The liquid loading is one of the most frequently encountered phenomena in the transportation of gas pipeline,reducing the transmission efficiency and threatening the flow ***,most of the traditional mechanism models are semi-empirical models,and have to be resolved under different working conditions with complex calculation *** development of big data technology and artificial intelligence provides the possibility to establish data-driven *** paper aims to establish a liquid loading prediction model for natural gas pipeline with high generalization ability based on machine ***,according to the characteristics of actual gas pipeline,a variety of reasonable combinations of working conditions such as different gas velocity,pipe diameters,water contents and outlet pressures were set,and multiple undulating pipeline topography with different elevation differences was *** a large number of simulations were performed by simulator OLGA to obtain the data required for machine *** data preprocessing,six supervised learning algorithms,including support vector machine(SVM),decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),artificial neural network(ANN),plain Bayesian classification(NBC),and K nearest neighbor algorithm(KNN),were compared to evaluate the performance of liquid loading ***,the RF and KNN with better performance were selected for parameter tuning and then used to the actual pipeline for liquid loading location *** with OLGA simulation,the established data-driven model not only improves calculation efficiency and reduces workload,but also can provide technical support for gas pipeline flow assurance.

Absorption and Fluorescence Emission Spectra of Molecules Containing Azo and/or Oxadiazole Units

The ground state structures of a series of organic molecules containing azo and/or oxadiazole units were obtained by means of density functional theory B3LYP/6-3IG（d） method. The first singlet excited state structures were optimized by virtue of singlet-excitation configuration interaction CIS/6-31G（d） method. The absorption and fluorescence emission spectra were then evaluated via the time-dependent density functional theory B3LYP and PBE1PBE methods with 6-31 l＋＋G（3df,2p） basis set. The calculation results show that compared with those of their parent molecules A-H, B-H, C-H, D-H, the absorption and emission wavelength values of all the derivatives show red shifts. The derivatives containing both the oxadiazole and methoxyl units are good candidates for longer absorption wavelength materials. The effects of azo, oxadiazole, and methoxyl units on the absorption and emission wavelength were discussed.

Dynamic performance and wake structure of flapping plates with different shapes

The dynamic performance and wake structure of flapping plates with different shapes were studied using multi-block lattice Boltzman and immersed boundary *** typical regimes relevant to thrust behavior are *** is nonlinear relation between the thrust and the area moment of plate for lower area moment region and the other is linear relation for larger area moment *** tendency of the power variation with the area moment is reasonably similar to the thrust behavior and the efficiency decreases gradually as the area moment *** the mechanism of the dynamic properties is associated with the evolution of vortical structures around the plate,the formation and evolution of vortical structures are investigated and the effects of the plate shape,plate area,Strouhal number and Reynolds number on the vortical structures are *** results obtained in this study provide physical insight into the understanding of the mechanisms relevant to flapping locomotion.

Xuebijing improves intestinal microcirculation dysfunction in septic rats by regulating the VEGF-A/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway

BACKGROUND:This study aims to explore whether Xuebijing(XBJ) can improve intestinal microcirculation dysfunction in sepsis and its ***:A rat model of sepsis was established by cecal ligation and puncture(CLP).A total of 30 male SD rats were divided into four groups:sham group,CLP group,XBJ + axitinib group,and XBJ *** was intraperitoneally injected 2 h before *** data(blood pressure and heart rate) were *** intestinal microcirculation data of the rats were analyzed via microcirculation ***-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) kits were used to detect the serum levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in the *** analysis and transmission electron microscopy were used to analyze the injury of small intestinal microvascular endothelial cells and small intestinal mucosa in *** expression of vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A),phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K),phosphorylated PI3K(p-PI3K),protein kinase B(Akt),and phosphorylated Akt(p-Akt) in the small intestine was analyzed via Western ***:XBJ improved intestinal microcirculation dysfunction in septic rats,alleviated the injury of small intestinal microvascular endothelial cells and small intestinal mucosa,and reduced the systemic inflammatory ***,XBJ upregulated the expression of VEGF-A,p-PI3K/total PI3K,and p-Akt/total Akt in the rat small ***:XBJ may improve intestinal microcirculation dysfunction in septic rats possibly through the VEGF-A/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

MOF-derived 1D CGO Cathode for Efficient Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells

Solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs)provide a promising way for converting renewable energy into chemical ***,NiO/CGO(nickel-gadolinium doped ceria)cermet has shown its excellent properties in ionic and electronic conductivity under reducing ***,we developed a novel 1D NiO/CGO cathode through a cerium metal-organic framework(MOF)derived *** cathode’s 1D nanostructure integrated with a microchannel scaffold facilitates enhanced mass transport,providing vertically aligned pathways for CO_(2)and H_(2)O ***,the 1D framework increases the number of interfacial sites and reduces ion diffusion distances,thereby simplifying electron/ion ***,this advanced cathode achieved a significant breakthrough in SOEC performance,maintaining efficient CO_(2)and H_(2)O electrolysis at an extraordinary current density of 1.41 A/cm^(2)at 1.5 V and excellent stability over 24 h at 850℃.The enhanced performance of this newly developed cathode not only achieves a remarkable 100%improvement compared to those of NiO/CGO cathodes with varying geometrical configurations but also surpasses those of commercial NiO/CGO catalysts by an outstanding 40%when tested under identical *** development of the 1D NiO/CGO enhances the efficiency and durability of ceramic cathodes for CO_(2)and H_(2)O co-electrolysis in SOECs and improves the scalability and effectiveness of SOECs in renewable energy applications.
