Wind Wave Characteristics and Engineering Environment of the South China Sea

Wave simulation was conducted for the period 1976 to 2005 in the South China Sea （SCS） using the wave model, WAVEWATCH-III. Wave characteristics and engineering environment were studied in the region. The wind input data are from the objective reanalysis wind datasets, which assimilate meteorological data from several sources. Comparisons of significant wave heights between simulation and TOPEX/Poseidon altimeter and buoy data show a good agreement in general. By statistical analysis, the wave characteristics, such as significant wave heights, dominant wave directions, and their seasonal variations, were discussed. The largest significant wave heights are found in winter and the smallest in spring. The annual mean dominant wave direction is northeast （NE） along the southwest （SW）-NE axis, east northeast in the northwest （NW） part of SCS, and north northeast in the southeast （SE） part of SCS. The joint distributions of wave heights and wave periods （directions） were studied. The results show a single peak pattern for joint significant wave heights and periods, and a double peak pattern for joint significant wave heights and mean directions. Furthermore, the main wave extreme parameters and directional extreme values, particularly for the 100-year return period, were also investigated. The main extreme values of significant wave heights are larger in the northern part of SCS than in the south- ern part, with the maximum value occurring to the southeast of Hainan Island. The direction of large directional extreme Hs values is focus in E in the northem and middle sea areas of SCS, while the direction of those is focus in N in the southeast sea areas of SCS.

The fretting wear performance of high-nitrogen stainless bearing steel(40Cr15Mo2VN)under lubrication conditions was ***-based grease was preparedusing MoS2 and carbon nanotubes(CNTs)as *** 52100 steel ball was used in four-ball test to evaluate the extreme pressure property and wear resistance of *** four-ball test,the grease adding 0.8 mass%MoS2 and 0.8 mass%CNTs,respectively,was chosen and used for fretting *** 52100 ball and 40Cr15Mo2VN steel disc were used as the upper and lower samples for fretting *** results showed that wear power consumption increased with the increase in both sliding velocity and contact *** initial contact stress was 2.047 GPa,the main wear mechanisms were abrasive wear and plastic deformation as the velocity increased 0.028 to 0.112 m/*** the velocity was 0.028 m/s,the main wear mechanisms changed abrasive wear to adhesion wear and finally to abrasive wear and adhesion wear as the initial contact stress increased 1.788 to 2.579 *** volume loss grew sharply becaof the changes in wear *** this condition,the volume loss growth rate can be divided into three regions according to different wear power consumption ranges corresponding to different wear mechanisms.

A fractional-order cumulative optimization GM(1,2)model based on grey theory is proposed to study the relationship between torpedo loading and working *** this model,the average relative error function related to order and background value is *** the average relative error function as the objective function,the optimal value of the two parameters is obtained through the optimization method,and the minimum value of the average relative error is *** calculation example shows that this method can greatly improve the accuracy of the model and more accurately reflect the relationship between torpedo loading and working reliabilities compared with the traditional GM(1,2)model.

Drug-induced liver injury(DILI),which refers to liver damage caused by a drug or its metabolites,has emerged as an important cause of acute liver failure(ALF)in recent ***-induced ALF in animal models mimics the pathology of DILI in humans;thus,these models are used to study the mechanism of potentially effective treatment *** stromal cells(MSCs)possess immunomodulatory properties,and they alleviate acute liver injury and decrease the mortality of animals with chemically-induced ***,we summarize some of the existing research on the interaction between MSCs and immune cells,and discuss the possible mechanisms underlying the immunomodulatory activity of MSCs in chemically-induced *** conclude that MSCs can impact the phenotype and function of macrophages,as well as the differentiation and maturation of dendritic cells,and inhibit the proliferation and activation of T lymphocytes or B *** also have immunomodulatory effects on the production of cytokines,such as prostaglandin E2 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha-stimulated gene 6,in animal ***,MSCs have significant benefits in the treatment of chemically-induced ALF by interacting with immune cells and they may be applied to DILI in humans in the near future.

Non-centrosymmetric chalcogenides are attracting considerable attention as highly promising infrared nonlinear optical (IR-NLO) candidates,but it is challenging to simultaneously achieve sufficient secondharmonic-generation coefficient (d_(eff)>0.5×AgGaS_(2)) and large energy gap (E_g>3.5 e V).In this work,a novel ternary chalcogenide,Cs_(5)Ga_(9)S_(16) with an ultra-wide E_gof 4.05 e V,has been successfully *** sulfide belongs to the monoclinic space group Pn (No.7) with a novel 3D anionic[Ga_(9)S_(16)]^(5–)framework that is formed by super-polyhedral[Ga_(9)S_(23)]units through corner-sharing S *** a unique crystal structure displays desirable characteristics which indicate a promising IR-NLO candidate:favourable phase-matching feature,sufficient d_(eff)(0.7×AgGaS_(2)),ultrahigh laser-induced damage threshold (31.6×AgGaS_(2)) and broad transparent region (0.27-14.96μm).In addition,systematic theoretical studies and structural analysis suggest that the desirable IR-NLO performances can be attributed to the super-polyhedral building *** finding may provide useful insight into the understanding and designing other high-performance IR-NLO candidates with super-polyhedral-built structures.
