A refined deviatoric hardening plastic model for sand

The classical deviatoric hardening models are capable of characterizing the mechanical response of granular materials for a broad range of degrees of *** work finds that it has limitations in accurately predicting the volumetric deformation characteristics under a wide range of confining/consolidation *** issue stems from the pressure independent hardening law in the classical deviatoric hardening *** overcome this problem,we propose a refined deviatoric hardening model in which a pressure-dependent hardening law is developed based on experimental *** between numerical results and laboratory triaxial tests indicate that the improved model succeeds in capturing the volumetric deformation behavior under various confining/consolidation pressure conditions for both dense and loose ***,to examine the importance of the improved deviatoric hardening model,it is combined with the bounding surface plasticity theory to investigate the mechanical response of loose sand under complex cyclic loadings and different initial consolidation *** is proved that the proposed pressure-dependent deviatoric hardening law is capable of predicting the volumetric deformation characteristics to a satisfactory degree and plays an important role in the simulation of complex deformations for granular geomaterials.

Cancer immunotherapy has rapidly become the fourth mainstream treatment alternative after surgery,radiotherapy,and chemotherapy,with some promising *** aims to kill tumor cells by mobilizing or stimulating cytotoxic immune ***,the clinical applications of tumor immunotherapies are limited owing to a lack of adequate delivery pathways and high ***,nanomaterials and genetic engineering have shown great potential in overcoming these limitations by protecting the delivery of antigens,activating targeted T cells,modulating the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment,and improving the treatment *** Calmette-Gué;rin(BCG)is a live attenuated Mycobacterium bovis vaccine used to prevent tuberculosis,which was first reported to have antitumor activity in *** therapy can activate the immune system by inducing various cytokines and chemokines,and its specific immune and inflammatory responses exert antitumor *** was first used during the 1970s as an intravesical treatment agent for bladder cancer,which effectively improved immune antitumor activity and prevented tumor *** recently,nano-BCG and genetically engineered BCG have been proposed as treatment alternatives for bladder cancer due to their ability to induce stronger and more stable immune *** this study,we outline the development of nano-BCG and genetically engineered BCG for bladder cancer immunotherapy and review their potential and associated challenges.

A semi-infinite beam theoretical model on predicting rock slope subsidence induced by underground mining

When the mining goaf is close to the cliff,rock slope subsidence induced by underground mining is significantly affected by its boundary *** this study,an analytical method is proposed by considering the key strata as a semi-infinite Euler-Bernoulli beam rested on a Winkler foundation with a local subsidence *** analytical solutions of deflection are derived by analyzing the boundary and continuity conditions of the ***,the analytical solutions are verified by the results from experimental tests,FEM and InSAR,*** that,the influence of changing parameters on deflections is studied with sensitivity *** results show that the distance between goaf and cliff significantly affects the deflection of semi-infinite *** response of semi-infinite beam is obviously determined by the length of goaf and the bending stiffness of *** comparisons between semi-infinite beam and infinite beam illustrate the ascendancy of the improved model in such problems.

Overshoot phenomena:Observation and simulation

High-power O-mode radio waves can excite artificial instabilities in the F region,according to experiments conducted at the European Incoherent Scatter Science Association(EISCAT)heating *** main instabilities include the parametric decay instability(PDI),oscillating two-stream instability(OTSI),and thermal parametric instability(TPI).The PDI and OTSI not only compete with each other,but also compete with the TPI,leading to a two-stage overshoot phenomenon:a miniovershoot occurs on a millisecond time scale after pump-on,followed by the main *** gain insight into the miniovershoot via a generalized Zakharov model,whereas the main overshoot can be observed as an enhanced plasma line overshoot phenomenon in incoherent scatter radar *** can also observe that the zero-frequency ion line exists only in the initial heating period after a cold start and that the upshifted and downshifted ion lines behave irregularly in the *** simulation results show that competition between the PDI and OTSI leads to an initial peak,which we named the *** following processes,namely ion density caviton generation,and collapse and cascade in the development of the PDI,contribute to the miniovershoot phenomenon.

The suitability assessment on site selection for bottom seeding scallop culture based on analytic hierarchy process

Scallop culture is an important way of bottom-seeding marine ranching,which is of great significance to improve the current situation of fishery ***,there are some problems in site-selection evaluation of marine ranching,such as imperfect criteria system,complex structure,untargeted criteria quantification,*** addition,no site-selection evaluation method of bottom-seeding culture areas for scallops is ***,we established a hierarchy structure model according to the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)theory,in which social,physical,chemical,and biological environments are used as main criteria,and marine functional zonation,water depth,current,water temperature,salinity,substrate type,water quality,sediment quality,red tide,phytoplankton,and zooplankton are used as sub-criteria,on which a multi-parameter evaluation system is set ***,the dualism method,assignment method,and membership function method were used to quantify sub-criteria,and a quantitative evaluation for the entire criteria was added,including the evaluation and analysis of two types of unsuitable environmental *** overall consideration in scallop yield,quality,and marine ranching construction objectives,the weight of the main criteria could be *** grades in the suitability corresponding to the evaluation result were divided,and the Python language was used to create an evaluation system for efficient calculation and intuitive presentation of the evaluation *** marine cases were simulated based on existing survey data,and the results prove that the method is feasible for evaluating and analyzing the site selection of bottom-seeding culture areas for scallops under various environmental *** proposed evaluation method can be promoted for the site selection of bottom-seeding marine *** study provided theoretical and methodological references for the site selection evaluation of other types of marine ranching.

Ion and electron motions in the outer electron diffusion region of collisionless magnetic reconnection

Two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations are performed to study the coupling between ion and electron motions in collisionless magnetic *** electron diffusion region(EDR),where the electron motions are demagnetized,is found to have a two-layer structure:an inner EDR near the reconnection site and an outer EDR that is elongated to nearly 10 ion inertial lengths in the outflow *** the inner EDR,the speed of the electron outflow increases when the electrons move away from the X *** the outer EDR,the speed of the electron outflow first increases and then decreases until the electrons reach the boundary of the outer *** the boundary of the outer EDR,the magnetic field piles up and forms a depolarization *** the perspective of the fluid,a force analysis on the formation of electron and ion outflows has also been *** the X line,the electrons are accelerated by the reconnection electric field in the out-of-plane *** the electrons move away from the X line,we find that the Lorentz force converts the direction of the accelerated electrons to the x direction,forming an electron *** electric field forces and electron gradient forces tend to drag the electron *** acceleration along the x direction is caused by the Lorentz force,whereas the pressure gradient force tends to decelerate the ion *** these two terms are important,their effects on ions are almost *** Hall electric field force does positive work on ions and is not *** ions are continuously accelerated,and the ion and electron outflow velocities are almost the same near the depolarization front.

Theoretical design of polyazole based ligands for the separation of Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)

The extraction of radioactive minor actinides(An(Ⅲ))from lanthanides(Ln(Ⅲ))is an extremely impor-tant step in nuclear waste *** ligands with high-performance actinide-selectivity re-mains an essential *** works have reported that some polyazole based ligands exhibit good An(Ⅲ)/Ln(Ⅲ)separation ***,we first evaluated the effects of different polyazole side chains on the Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)selectivity by exploring three pyridine-derived polyazole ligands L^(1),L^(2)and L^(3)with 1,2,4-triazole,1,2,3-triazole,and pyrazole side chains,respectively,using scalar relativistic theoretical *** coordination structures,bonding properties and thermodynamic behaviors of AmL(NO_(3))_(3)and EuL(NO_(3))_(3)complexes were investigated,which clarifies that the side chains do affect the electronic structure of ligand and its selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)***,L^(1)with 1,2,4-triazole side chains exhibited the highest selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)over Eu(Ⅲ)while the lowest complexation ability for metal ions among the three pyridine-derived polyazole ***,we designed a new ligand L^(4)con-taining 1,2,4-triazole side chains and a preorganized phenanthroline ***,such a new ligand was verified to show stronger complexation ability and higher selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)ions than L^(1).This work clarifies the complexation nature of polyazole based ligands with Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)ions and provides design strategies for highly efficient polyazole based ligands for An(Ⅲ)/Ln(Ⅲ)separation.

Time-synchronous-averaging(TSA)is based on the idea of denoising by averaging,and it extracts the periodic components of a quasiperiodic signal and keeps the extracted waveform *** paper studies the mathematical properties of TSA,where three propositions are given to reveal the nature of *** paper also proposes a TSA-spectrum based on super-resolution analysis and it decomposes a signal without using any base *** contrast to discrete Fourier transform spectrum(DFT-spectrum),which is a spectrum in frequency domain,TSA-spectrum is a period-based spectrum,which can present more details of the cross effects between different periodic components of a quasiperiodic ***,a case study is carried out using bearing fault analysis to illustrate the performance of TSA-spectrum,where the rotation speed fluctuation of the shaft is estimated,which is about 0.12 ms *** extracted fault signals are presented and some insights are *** believe that this paper can provide new motivation for TSA-spectrum to be widely used in applications involving quasiperiodic signal processing(QSP).

Granular Ionogel Particle Inks for 3D Printed Tough and Stretchable Ionotronics

Ionogels have garnered great attention as promising soft conducting materials for the fabrication of flexible energy storage devices,soft actuators,and ***,the leakage of the ionic liquids,weak mechanical strength,and poor manufacturability have greatly limited their reliability and ***,we propose a new ionogel synthesis strategy by utilizing granular zwitterionic microparticles to stabilize ionic *** ionic liquids swell the microparticles and physically crosslink microparticles via either electronic interaction or hydrogen *** introducing a photocurable acrylic monomer enables the fabrication of double-network(DN)ionogels with high stretchability(>600%)and ultrahigh toughness(fracture energy>10 kJ/m^(2)).The synthesized ionogels exhibit a wide working temperature of−60 to 90℃.By tuning the crosslinking density of microparticles and physical crosslinking strength of ionogels,we synthesize DN ionogel inks and print them into three-dimensional(3D)*** ionogelbased ionotronics are 3D printed as demonstrations,including strain gauges,humidity sensors,and ionic skins made of capacitive touch sensor *** covalently linking ionogels with silicone elastomers,we integrate the ionogel sensors onto pneumatic soft actuators and demonstrate their capacities in sensing large *** our last demonstration,multimaterial direct ink writing is harnessed to fabricate highly stretchable and durable alternating-current electroluminescent devices with arbitrary *** printable granular ionogel ink represents a versatile platform for the future manufacturing of ionotronics.
