The variable-structure multiple-model（VSMM）approach,one of the multiple-model（MM）methods,is a popular and effective approach in handling problems with mode *** model sequence set adaptation（MSA）is the key to design a better ***,MSA methods in the literature have big room to improve both theoretically and *** this end,we propose a feedback structure based entropy approach that could fnd the model sequence sets with the smallest size under certain *** fltered data are fed back in real time and can be used by the minimum entropy（ME）based VSMM algorithms,i.e.,***,the full Markov chains are used to achieve optimal ***,the myopic method together with particle flter（PF）and the challenge match algorithm are also used to achieve sub-optimal solutions,a trade-off between practicability and *** numerical results show that the proposed algorithm provides not only refned model sets but also a good robustness margin and very high accuracy.

The variable structure multiple-model（VSMM） estimation approach, one of the multiple-model（MM） estimation approaches, is popular in handling state estimation problems with mode *** the VSMM algorithms, the model sequence set adaptation（MSA） plays a key *** MSA methods are challenged in both theory and practice for the target modes and the real observation error distributions are usually uncertain in *** this paper, a geometrical entropy（GE） measure is proposed so that the MSA is achieved on the minimum geometrical entropy（MGE） ***, the minimum geometrical entropy multiple-model（MGEMM） framework is proposed, and two suboptimal algorithms, the particle filter k-means minimum geometrical entropy multiple-model algorithm（PF-KMGEMM） as well as the particle filter adaptive minimum geometrical entropy multiple-model algorithm（PF-AMGEMM）, are established for practical *** proposed algorithms are tested in three groups of maneuvering target tracking scenarios with mode and observation error distribution *** simulations have demonstrated that compared to several existing algorithms, the MGE-based algorithms can achieve more robust and accurate estimation results when the real observation error is inconsistent with a priori.

Prognostic Factors for Survival of Stage IB Upper Lobe Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Study in Shanghai, China

Objective: To identify clinical and pathologic factors that were associated with the survival of stage IB upper lobe non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Methods: A retrospective study of 147 subjects who had undergone curative resection for stage IB upper lobe NSCLC was performed. Patients who had received any adjuvant or neo-adjuvant chemotherapy were excluded. Survival function curves were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier procedure. Crude and adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) of potential prognostic factors were estimated using Cox proportional hazards models. Results: Five factors, including age, tumor size, histologic grade of differentiation, number of removed superior mediastinal lymph node stations and presence of visceral pleura invasion, were significantly and independently associated with mortality risk. Adjusted HRs were 2.6 [95% confidence interval (95% CI): 1.1?6.5] and 4.6 (95% CI: 1.9?11) for those aged 58?68 years and those >68 years, respectively, relative to those aged tumors were 6.4 (95% CI: 2.3?18) and 1.4 (95% CI: 0.7?2.8), respectively. HRs for those with tumor size 3.1?5 cm and >5 cm (vs ?3.0 cm) were 2.3 (95% CI: 1.1?4.9) and 4.3 (95% CI: 1.9?10), respectively. The presence of visceral pleura invasion also increased the risk of mortality (HR=4.0, 95% CI: 1.3?12). Conclusion: Advanced age, larger tumor size, poorly differentiated histology, smaller number of removed superior mediastinal lymph node stations, and presence of visceral pleura invasion were associated with poor survival of surgically treated stage IB upper lobe NSCLC patients.

In this work, a new microextraction method termed ionic liquid based dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction （IL-DLLME） was demonstrated for the extraction of 2-methylaniline, 4-chloroaniline, 1-naphthylamine and 4-aminobiphenyl in aqueous matrices. After extraction the ionic liquid （IL） phase was injected directly into the high performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） system for determination. Some parameters that might affect the extraction efficiency were optimized. Under the optimum conditions, good linear relationship, sensitivity and reproducibility were obtained. The limits of detection （LOD, S/N = 3） for the four analytes were in the range of 0.45-2.6 μg L^-1. The relative standard deviations （R.S.D., n = 6） were in the range of 6.2-9.8%. This method was applied for the analysis of the real water samples. The recoveries ranged from 93.4 to 106.4%. The main advantages of the method are high speed, high recovery, good repeatability and volatile organic solvent-free.

We synthesized a potassium gadolinium phosphate K3Gd(PO_(4))_(2)with monoclinic structure(P2_(1/m))by the high-temperature solid-state reaction *** lattice constants obtained by Rietveld refinements of XRD curve are a=0.7411 nm,b=0.5624 nm,and c=0.9433 *** and magnetocaloric properties of K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))_(2)were investigated in *** magnetic phase transition temperature of K3Gd(PO_(4))2 was determined by ultra-low temperature testing to be 0.58 K.K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))2 exhibits large magnetic entropy changes(-ΔSM).The maximum-ΔSM are 20.2 and 29.4 J/(kg·K)in the magnetic field variation(ΔH)of 1 and 2 T,respectively,which are larger than that of the commercial Gd_(3)Ga_(5)O_(12)(GGG).The maximum adiabatic temperature change(ΔT_(ad))reaches 5.91 K under a magnetic field change(ΔH)of 1 T.K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))_(2)is a potential magnetic refrigeration material for obtaining sub-Kelvin temperatures.

Novel evidence from Taxus fuana forests for niche-neutral process assembling community

Background:Understanding the mechanisms underlying community assembly is helpful for conservation and restoration of communities, particularly those that contain rare and endangered species like Taxus fuana, which are endemic to the Western Himalayas. The niche (limiting similarity) vs. neutral (randomness) assembly of the *** forest community in Gyirong County, Tibet, China, was investigated. The net relatedness index (NRI) was calculated using a phylogenetic tree. The phylogenetic characteristics of the community and its relationships with environment were ***:The value of the mean NRI at the community level was less than-1.96, indicating that the phylogenetic structure was overdispersed;whereas majority of the NRIs at the tree, shrub, and herb layers were within-1.96 to1.96, indicating random dispersion. Environmental factors accounted for 44.38%, 46.52%, 24.04%, and 14.07%of the variation at the community level, tree, shrub, and herb layer, respectively. The phylogenetic structure at the community level and tree layer were significantly influenced by both topographic and soil factors, while shrub and herb layers tended to be affected by a single environmental ***:Community assembly of the T. fuana forest was simultaneously affected by niche and neutral processes, and their variations were closely related to the environment. Neutral process dominated community assembly in the shrub and herb layers. However, the interaction of limiting similarity and randomness played a dominant role at the community level and tree layer;and contributed to maintenance of biodiversity stability. The synergy of multiple environmental factors had a more obvious influence on community assembly than individual environmental factors, especially at the community level. These findings would help to understand the conservation of rare and endangered tree species, such as T. fuana, in the native community;and highlight the importance of random and non-random
