Bamboo is a typical biological material widely growing in nature with excellent physical and mechanical *** is lightweight with high strength and *** naturally optimized bamboo structure,which has inspired global material scientists and engineers for decades,is significantly important for the bionic design of novel structural materials with ultra-light,ultra-strong,or ultra-tough and comprehensive *** literature on innovative composite materials and structural members inspired by bamboo are reviewed in this paper,and the research progress and prospects in this field are expounded in three ***,the structural characteristics of the bamboo wall layer along the thick.ess and height directions are described in terms of chemical composition,gradient structure,pore structure,and hollow structure with variable ***,this paper summarizes the research progress on new composite materials and structural components by applying bamboo’s structural features from the perspective of sustainability,designability,and ***,given the limitations of current research,the biomimetic scientific research on bamboo’s structural characteristics is prospected from the interpretation of bamboo structure,new bamboo-lik. materials,and structural design optimization perspectives,providing a reference for future research on biomimetic aspects of biomass.

Extreme Weather Disruptions and Emergency Preparedness Among Older Adults in Ohio: An Eight-County Assessment

The disproportionate risk. and impacts of climate change and extreme weather on older adults are increasingly evident. While especially true in disaster-prone areas, human-caused climate change introduces an element of uncertainty even in previously identified “safe” regions such as the Midwestern United States. Using a cumulative disadvantage and vulnerability-informed framework.and descriptive statistics from multiple data sources, this article provides an overview of climate impacts, vulnerabilities, and county-level characteristics, focusing on older adults living in Central Ohio. A comparative multiple-case study methodology was used to triangulate regionally representative primary and secondary data sources to examine state and county-level measures of vulnerability, emergency preparedness, and disruptions caused by extreme weather among older adults across eight counties in Central Ohio. Seventy-eight percent of older adults in the sample reported being prepared for emergencies per Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines. Older adults in Union County reported the highest rates of preparedness, while those in Fayette County reported the lowest. County-level rates of disruption of life activities by extreme weather ranged widely. Among the most rural in the region, Fayette County emerged as uniquely disadvantaged, with the lowest median income, the most vulnerable across multiple social vulnerability dimensions, and the most reported disruptions to life activities from extreme weather. County profiles offer a snapshot of existing vulnerabilities, socioeconomic conditions, special needs, preparedness, and current disruptions among older adults in the region and can inform resource mobilization across community and policy contexts.

This study investigated the atomic-scale deformation mechanism of multiphase CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)at liquid helium,liquid nitrogen,and room temperatures.A million-atom multiphase HEA was prepared using molecular dynamics simulation involving melt and quench *** HEA exhibited high-density dislocations and some twins,consistent with experimental *** analysis revealed an inconsistent evolution of the microstructure under tensile *** particular,the elastic and initial plastic stages exhibited an increase in the disordered structure at the expense of the face-centered cubic and hexagonal close-pack.d structures,followed by a subsequent transformation involving multiple structural ***,through sparse identification,a model depicting microstructural evolution during tension was extracted for the CoCrFeNi HEA at three typical temperatures and three tensile *** model highlighted the importance of the body-centered cubic structure in the evolutionary process.

Back.round: In this study, the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents (UMHL-A) was revised and tested for its reliability and validity in Chinese middle school students, thus establishing a useful tool for assessing the mental health of individuals in this occupation. Methods: Our sample comprised 1208 junior high school students (58.85% male), aged between 11 and 15 years old. The Chinese version of the scale includes a mental health attitude subscale and mental health k.owledge subscale, including attitudes towards seek.ng help, attitudes related to stigma, general mental health k.owledge, and k.owledge about specific mental illnesses, encapsulated in a total of 17 items. A series of psychometric analyses such as exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and internal consistency reliability estimation were carried out in this study. Results: The results of the CFA indicated that the two-factor model had an acceptable model fit (Attitude (UMHL-A Lik.rt): χ2/df = 4.107; RMSEA = 0.072; SRMR = 0.045; TLI = 0.932; CFI = 0.954; k.owledge (UMHL-A T/F): χ2/df = 3.647; RMSEA = 0.066; SRMR = 0.044; TLI = 0.923; CFI = 0.945). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of subscales of the Chinese version UMHL-A were 0.80 and 0.78, respectively. Conclusion: In general, the Chinese version of the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for adolescents has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool to measure the mental health literacy of Chinese adolescents. © 2024 The Authors.

This study presents a comparative analysis of two image enhancement techniques, Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), in the context of improving the clarity of high-quality 3D seismic data obtained from the Tano Basin in West Africa, Ghana. The research focuses on a comparative analysis of image clarity in seismic attribute analysis to facilitate the identification of reservoir features within the subsurface structures. The findings of the study indicate that CWT has a significant advantage over FFT in terms of image quality and identifying subsurface structures. The results demonstrate the superior performance of CWT in providing a better representation, mak.ng it more effective for seismic attribute analysis. The study highlights the importance of choosing the appropriate image enhancement technique based on the specific application needs and the broader context of the study. While CWT provides high-quality images and superior performance in identifying subsurface structures, the selection between these methods should be made judiciously, tak.ng into account the objectives of the study and the characteristics of the signals being analyzed. The research provides valuable insights into the decision-mak.ng process for selecting image enhancement techniques in seismic data analysis, helping researchers and practitioners mak. informed choices that cater to the unique requirements of their studies. Ultimately, this study contributes to the advancement of the field of subsurface imaging and geological feature identification.

Electrolysis tank. are used to smelt metals based on electrochemical principles, and the short-circuiting of the pole plates in the tank. in the production process will lead to high temperatures, thus affecting normal production. Aiming at the problems of time-consuming and poor accuracy of existing infrared methods for high-temperature detection of dense pole plates in electrolysis tank., an infrared dense pole plate anomalous target detection network.YOLOv5-RMF based on You Only Look.Once version 5 (YOLOv5) is proposed. Firstly, we modified the Real-Time Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network.(Real-ESRGAN) by changing the U-shaped network.(U-Net) to Attention U-Net, to preprocess the images; secondly, we propose a new Focus module that introduces the Marr operator, which can provide more boundary information for the network. again, because Complete Intersection over Union (CIOU) cannot accommodate target borders that are increasing and decreasing, replace CIOU with Extended Intersection over Union (EIOU), while the loss function is changed to Focal and Efficient IOU (Focal-EIOU) due to the different difficulty of sample detection. On the homemade dataset, the precision of our method is 94%, the recall is 70.8%, and the map@.5 is 83.6%, which is an improvement of 1.3% in precision, 9.7% in recall, and 7% in map@.5 over the original network. The algorithm can meet the needs of electrolysis tank.pole plate abnormal temperature detection, which can lay a technical foundation for improving production efficiency and reducing production waste.
