Morphological and physiological responses to drought stress of.carob trees in Mediterranean ecosystems

The greatest f.ilure rate of.ref.restation programs is basically related to water def.cit,especially at the seedling ***,the main objective of.this work is to investigate the responses of.three accessions of.carob trees(Ceratonia siliqua L.)with 2-year-old f.om dif.erent climate regions to drought generated by f.ur water treatments:Tc(250 mm),T1(180 mm),T2(100 mm),and T3(50 mm).The f.rst accession(A1)comes f.om the protected national park of.Ichkeul in northern *** zone belongs to the bioclimatic sub-humid *** second accession(A2)comes f.om Melloulech,located in the center-east of.Tunisia,belonging to the bioclimatic semi-arid *** third accession(A3)comes f.om the mountain of.Matmata,located in the south of.Tunisia,belonging to the bioclimatic hyper-arid *** experiment was undertaken in a *** exchange indices(net photosynthesis(A),stomatal conductance(gs),transpiration rate(E),and internal CO_(2) concentration(Ci))were ***(Ψpd)and midday(Ψmd)leaf.water potentials,relative soil water content(SWC),and morphological parameters(plant height(H),number of.leaves(NL),number of.leaf.ets(Nl),and number of.branches(NB))were *** results showed that signif.cant dif.erences(Pf.und between physiological and morphological parameters of.each *** highest growth potential was recorded f.r Tc treatment in both accessions A1 and *** decreases in gs,E,Ci,and SWC were recorded with the increases in water stress applied f.om treatment T1 to *** and signif.cant correlations were f.und between SWC andΨpd f.r all studied accessions.Ψpd andΨmd decreased as water stress increased,ranging f.om–0.96 to–1.50 MPa at sunrise and f.om–1.94 to–2.83 MPa at midday,respectively,under control and T3 *** accessions responded to drought through exhibiting signif.cant changes in their physiological and morphological *** accessions A1 and A2 showed greater drought tol

Objective:To characterize,identif. and investigate the anticancer properties of.two new soil f.ngal isolates,Emericella nidulansand f.sarium solani isolated f.om Wady El-Natron in Egypt against colon cancer Caco-2(ATCCj cell ***:Soil sample was cultured and two strains were chosen f.r morphological and phenotypical *** sequences of.the 18s rRNA gene and the internal transcribed spacer region ITS of.the two isolates were amplif.ed by *** tree construction and analysis of.the resulted multiple sequences f.om the two f.gal isolates were also carried *** vitro anticancer activity of.the two strains was done against colon Caco-2 cancer cell *** transcription — PCR was carried out to detect level of.expression of.p53 in Caco-2 cell ***:Hf.I displayed morphological and genotypic characteristics most similar to that of.f.sarium solani while Hf.2 was most similar to Emericella nidulans with high similarity of.99%and 97%*** multiple sequence alignment of.the two f.ngal isolates showed that,the maximum identical conserved domains in the 18s rRNA genes were identif.ed with the nucleotide regions of.Slst to 399th base pairs,88th to 525th base pairs *** those in the ITS genes were identif.ed with the nucleotide regions of.88th to 463rd and Slst to *** two isolates showed ICsub>50 value with（6.24±5.21） and（9.84±0.36） μ g/mL) concentrations respectively at *** transcription- PCR indicated that these cells showed high level of.expression f.r p53 ***:The morphology and molecular analysis identif.ed Hf.1 and Hf.2 to be f.sarium solani and Emericella nidulans;new isolates of.anticancer producing f.ngi f.om Wady El-Natroon city in *** with the two isolates caused P53 expression in Caco-2 cell *** two isolates can be used as an anticancer agents.

Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of.Heterocyclic Compounds Containing Chromene Ring

Synthesis of.some new compounds containing chromene ring are described in this work. They were synthesized in moderate to good yield, started with Condensation of.7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin （1） with ethyl bromoacetate f.rnishes ethyl-2-（4-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yloxy） acetate （2）. The structures of.all the new compounds were conf.rmed using IR, 1H-NMR spectra and micro analysis, selected members of.the synthesized compound were screened f.r antimicrobial activity. They have shown a wide range of.activity f.om one completely inactive compound to medium active ones.

On-line CO,CO_2 emissions evaluation and(benzene, toluene, xylene) determination f.om experimental burn of.tropical biomass

Atmospheric pollution and global warming issues are increasingly becoming major environmental concerns. f.re is one of.the signif.cant sources of.pollutant gases released into the atmosphere; and tropical biomass f.res, which are of.particular interest in this study,contribute greatly to the global budget of.CO and CO2. This pioneer research simulates the natural biomass burning strategy in Malaysia using an experimental burning f.cility. The investigation was conducted on the emissions（CO2, CO, and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene,Xylenes（BTEX）） f.om ten tropical biomass species. The selected species represent the major tropical f.rests that are f.equently subjected to dry f.rest f.re incidents. An experimental burning f.cility equipped with an on-line gas analyzer was employed to determine the burning emissions. The major emission f.ctors were f.und to vary among the species, and the specif.c results were as f.llows. The moisture content of.a particular biomass greatly inf.uenced its emission pattern. The smoke analysis results revealed the existence of.BTEX,which were sampled f.om a combustion chamber by enrichment traps aided with a universal gas sampler. The BTEX were determined by organic solvent extraction f.llowed by GC/MS quantif.cation, the results of.which suggested that the biomass burning emission f.ctor contributed signif.cant amounts of.benzene, toluene, and m,p-xylene. The modif.ed combustion ef.iciency（MCE） changed in response to changes in the sample moisture ***, this study concluded that the emission of.some pollutants mainly depends on the burning phase and sample moisture content of.the biomass.

This paper aims to examine the inf.uence of.gravity on a thermoelastic microelongated layer when a piezoelectric layer is above it,utilizing the theory of.Lord–Shulman(L–S)and also the model of.dual‐phase‐lag(DPL).A partial dif.erential equation was transf.rmed into an ordinary dif.erential equation using the normal mode *** epoxy numerical computations are carried out,and the results are presented in graphical *** L–S theory and the model of.DPL are compared in the presence and absence of.gravity and it is f.und that gravity has quite a massive inf.uence on all the physical quantities.

In power plants,f.ue gases can cause severe corrosion damage in metallic parts such as f.ue ducts,heat exchangers,and *** is an ef.ective technique to prevent this damage.A robust f.zzy model of.the surf.ce roughness(Ra and Rz)of.f.ue gas ducts coated by protective composite coating f.om epoxy and nanoparticles was constructed based on the experimental *** proposed model consists of.f.ur nanoparticles(ZnO,ZrO2,SiO2,and NiO)with 2%,4%,6%,and 8%,*** surf.ce methodology(RSM)was used to optimize the process parameters and identif. the optimal conditions f.r minimum surf.ce roughness of.this coated *** prove the superiority of.the proposed f.zzy model,the model results were compared with those obtained by ANOVA,with the coef.icient of.determination and the root-mean-square error(RMSE)used as *** Ra,f.r the f.rst output response,using ANOVA,the coef.icient-of.determination values were 0.9137 and 0.4037,respectively,f.r training and ***,f.r Rz,the second output response,the coef.icient-of.determination results were 0.9695 and 0.4037,respectively,f.r training and *** the f.zzy modeling of.Ra,f.r the f.rst output response,the RMSE values were 0.0 and 0.1455,respectively,f.r training and *** values f.r the coef.icient of.determination were 1.00 and 0.9807,respectively,f.r training and *** results prove the superiority of.f.zzy *** modeling the second output response Rz,the RMSE values were 0.0 and 0.0421,respectively,f.r training and testing,and the coef.icient-of.determination values were 1.00 and 0.9959,respectively,f.r training and testing.

Entropy and Entanglement in Master Equation of.Ef.ective Hamiltonian f.r Jaynes-Cummings Model

In this paper, we analytically solve the master equation f.r Jaynes-Cummings model in the dispersive regime including phase damping and the f.eld is assumed to be initially in a superposition of.coherent states. Using an established entanglement measure based on the negativity of.the eigenvalues of.the partially transposed density matrix we f.nd a very strong sensitivity of.the maximally generated entanglement to the amount of.phase damping. Qualitatively this behavior is also ref.ected in alternative entanglement measures, but the quantitative agreement between dif.erent measures depends on the chosen noise model The phase decoherence f.r this model results in monotonic increase in the total entropy while the atomic sub-entropy keeps its periodic behaviour without any ef.ect.

Control of.purity and entanglement of.two two-qubits dispersively coupled to a f.eld with a reservoir are *** the qubits are entangled,while the f.eld is either in a coherent state or a statistical mixture of.two coherent *** an alternative entanglement measure we calculate the negativity of.the eigenvalues of.the partially transposed density matrix.A measure related to the mutual entropy,namely the index of.entropy,is employed to measure the *** results agree well with the *** is f.und that the entanglement and purity have strong sensitivity to phase *** asymptotic behaviour of.the states of.the f.eld,the two two-qubits,and the total system f.ll into mixed states.
