Changes of groundwater flow field of Luanhe River Delta under the human activities and its impact on the ecological environment in the past 30 years

The Luanhe River Delta is located in the center of the Circum-Bohai Sea Economic *** enjoys rapid economic and social development while suffering relatively water *** overexploitation of groundwater in the Luanhe River Delta in recent years has caused the continuous drop of groundwater level and serious environmental and geological *** study systematically analyzes the evolution characteristics of the population,economy,and groundwater exploitation in the Luanhe River Delta and summarizes the change patterns of the groundwater flow regime in different aquifers in the Luanhe River Delta according to previous water resource assessment data as well as the latest groundwater survey *** comparison of major source/sink terms and groundwater resources,the study reveals the impacts of human activities on the groundwater resources and ecological environment in the study area over the past 30 years from 1990 to *** results are as *** average annual drop rate of shallow groundwater and the deep groundwater in the centers of depression cones is 0.4 m and 1.64 m,respectively in the Luanhe River Delta in the past 30 *** depression cones of shallow and deep groundwater in the study area cover an area of 545.32 km^(2)and 548.79 km^(2),respectively,accounting for more than 10%of the total area of the Luanhe River *** of groundwater has further aggravated land *** a result,two large-scale subsidence centers have formed,with a maximum subsidence rate of up to 120 mm/*** drop of groundwater level has induced some ecological problems in the Luanhe River Delta area,such as the zero flow and water quality deterioration of rivers and continuous shrinkage of natural wetlands and ***,the proportion of natural wetland area to the total wetland area has been decreased from 99%to 8%and the water area from 1776 km^(2)to 263 km^(2).These results will provide data for groundwater overexploitation contr

Using time series analysis to assess tidal effect on coastal groundwater level in Southern Laizhou Bay, China

Sea water intrusion is an environmental problem cause by the irrational exploitation of coastal groundwater resources and has attracted the attention of many coastal *** this study,we used time series monitoring data of groundwater levels and tidal waves to analyze the influence of tide flow on groundwater dynamics in the southern Laizhou *** auto-correlation and cross-correlation coefficients between groundwater level and tidal wave level were calculated specifically to measure the boundary conditions along the *** addition,spectrum analysis was employed to assess the periodicity and hysteresis of various tide and groundwater level *** results of time series analysis show that groundwater level fluctuation is noticeably influenced by tides,but the influence is limited to a certain distance and cannot reach the saltwater-freshwater interface in the southern Laizhou *** are three main periodic components of groundwater level in tidal effect range(i.e.23.804 h,12.500 h and 12.046 h),the pattern of which is the same as the *** affected groundwater level fluctuations lag behind the *** dynamic analysis of groundwater indicates that the coastal aquifer has a hydraulic connection with seawater but not in a direct *** to the existence of the groundwater mound between the salty groundwater(brine)and fresh groundwater,the maximum influencing distance of the tide on the groundwater is 8.85 *** that the fresh-saline groundwater interface is about 30 km away from the coastline,modern seawater has a limited contribution to sea-salt water intrusion in Laizhou *** results of this study are expected to provide a reference for the study on sea water intrusion.

Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a debilitating autoimmune disease that causes chronic pain and serious complications,presenting a significant challenge to *** approaches for treating RA involve signaling pathways modulation and targeted *** this end,a multifunctional nanosystem,TPC-U@HAT,has been designed for RA therapy,featuring multitargeting,dual-stimuli response,and on-demand drug release ***-U@HAT is composed of a probe/prodrug TPC,a JAK1 kinase inhibitor upadacitinib,and the drug carrier *** is composed of an aggregation-induced emission(AIE)-active NIR-II chromophore TPY and an NF-κB/NLRP3 inhibitor caffeic acid phenethyl ester(CAPE),connected via boronic ester bond which serves as the reactive-oxygen-species-responsive *** carrier,HAT,is created by grafting bone-targeting alendronate and hydrophobic tocopheryl succinate onto hyaluronic acid chains,which can encapsulate TPC and upadacitinib to form TPC-U@*** intravenous injection into mice,TPC-U@HAT accumulates at inflamed lesions of RA through both active and passive targeting,and the overexpressed hyaluronidase and H_(2)O_(2) therein cleave the hyaluronic acid polymer chains and boronate bonds,*** generates an AIE-active chromophore for detection and therapeutic evaluation of RA via both optoacoustic imaging and NIR-II fluorescent imaging and concomitantly releases CAPE and upadacitinib to exert efficacious therapy by inhibiting NF-κB/NLRP3 and JAK-STAT pathways.

Rechargeable sodium-ion batteries usually suffer from accelerated electrode destruction at high temperatures and high synthesis costs of electrode ***,it is highly desirable to explore novel organic electrodes considering their cost-effectiveness and large adaptability to volume ***,natural biomass,pristine lignin,is employed as the sodium-ion battery anodes,and their sodium storage performance is investigated at room temperature and 60℃.The lignin anodes exhibit excellent high-temperature sodium-ion battery *** mainly results from the generation of abundant reactive sites(C=O)due to the high temperature-induced homogeneous cleavage of the C_(β)-O bond in the lignin *** work can inspire researchers to explore other natural organic materials for large-scale applications and high-value utilization in advanced energy storage devices.

Polyelectrolyte(PE)gels,distinguished by their unique stimuli-responsive swelling behavior,serve as the basis of broad applications,such as artificial muscles and drug *** this work,we present a theoretical model to analyze the electrostatics and its contribution to the swelling behavior of PE gels in salt *** minimizing the free energy of PE gels,we obtain two distinct scaling regimes for the swelling ratio at equilibrium with respect to the salt *** compare our predictions for the swelling ratio with experimental measurements,which show excellent *** addition,we employ a finite element method to assess the applicability range of our theoretical model and *** anticipate that our model will also provide valuable insights into drug adsorption and release,deformation of red blood cells,4D printing and soft robotics,where the underlying mechanism of swelling remains enigmatic.

A near-infrared fluorescent probe for visualizing transformation pathway of Cys/Hcy and H2S and its applications in living system

Sulfydryl-contained(-SH)substances including hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S),cysteine(Cys),homocysteine(Hcy)and glutathione(GSH)play crucial roles in living systems,and their variations are closely associated with various ***,we developed a near-infrared intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)based fluorescent probe Y-NBD,achieving detection of Cys/Hcy and H_(2)S with different fluorescent signals(green-red for Cys/Hcy,red for H_(2)S),large Stokes shifts(∼100/105nm or 191 nm)and high signal-background-ratio,but not responding to GSH.Y-NBD was successfully applied to image exogenous/endogenous Cys/Hcy and H_(2)S in various living cancer cells(HeLa,A549,and HepG2)and in *** not only visualized the transformation pathway of several thiols in HepG2 cells but also verified that the intestine is the main site for the activation and metabolism of Y-NBD in zebrafish,as well as realized to evaluate the degree of drug-induced liver *** work provides a promising tool for imaging Cys/Hcy and H_(2)S in living systems and shows great potency in evaluating drug-induced liver injury and its treatment.

Fe-N_(x) sites coupled with core-shell FeS@C nanoparticles to boost the oxygen catalysis for rechargeable Zn-air batteries

The development of efficient single-atom catalysts(SACs) for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a formidable challenge,primarily due to the symmetric charge distribution of metal singleatom sites(M-N_(4)).To address such issue,herein,Fe-N_(x) sites coupled synergistic catalysts fabrication strategy is presented to break the uniform electronic distribution,thus enhancing the intrinsic catalytic ***,atomically dispersed Fe-N_(x) sites supported on N/S-doped mesoporous carbon(NSC)coupled with FeS@C core-shell nanoparticles(FAS-NSC@950) is synthesized by a facile hydrothermal reaction and subsequent *** to the presence of an in situ-grown conductive graphitic layer(shell),the FeS nanoparticles(core) effectively adjust the electronic structure of single-atom Fe sites and facilitate the ORR kinetics via short/long-range coupling ***,FAS-NSC@950displays a more positive half-wave potential(E_(1/2)) of 0.871 V with a significantly boosted ORR kinetics(Tafel slope=52.2 mV dec^(-1)),outpacing the commercial Pt/C(E_(1/2)=0.84 V and Tafel slope=54.6 mV dec^(-1)).As a bifunctional electrocatalyst,it displays a smaller bifunctional activity parameter(ΔE) of 0.673 V,surpassing the Pt/C-RuO_(2) combination(ΔE=0.724 V).Besides,the FAS-NSC@950-based zincair battery(ZAB) displays superior power density,specific capacity,and long-term cycling performance to the Pt/C-Ir/C-based *** work significantly contributes to the field by offering a promising strategy to enhance the catalytic activity of SACs for ORR,with potential implications for energy conversion and storage technologies.

Manganese-based material is a prospective cathode material for aqueous zinc ion batteries(ZIBs)by virtue of its high theoretical capacity,high operating voltage,and low ***,the manganese dissolution during the electrochemical reaction causes its electrochemical cycling stability to be *** this work,heterointerface engineering-induced oxygen defects are introduced into heterostructure MnO_(2)(δa-MnO_(2))by in situ electrochemical activation to inhibit manganese dissolution for aqueous zinc ion ***,the heterointerface between the disordered amorphous and the crystalline MnO_(2)ofδa-MnO_(2)is decisive for the formation of oxygen *** the experimental results indicate that the manganese dissolution ofδa-MnO_(2)is considerably inhibited during the charge/discharge *** analysis indicates that the oxygen defect regulates the electronic and band structure and the Mn-O bonding state of the electrode material,thereby promoting electron transport kinetics as well as inhibiting Mn ***,the capacity ofδa-MnO_(2)does not degrade after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.5 Ag^(-1)and also 91%capacity retention after 500cycles at 1 Ag^(-1).This study provides a promising insight into the development of high-performance manganese-based cathode materials through a facile and low-cost strategy.

The Ediacaran–Cambrian Phosphogenic Episode is the Earth’s first true phosphogenic event and resulted in worldwide phosphate deposits,which occurred during the processes of the Neoproterozoic Oxygenation *** Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation(ca.635–551 Ma)of Weng’an area in central Guizhou,South China,contains two economic phosphorite beds(the Lower and Upper Phosphorite Beds).This paper presents a detailed stratigraphic,sedimentological and mineralogical study of multiple outcrop and drill core sections of the Doushantuo Formation across the Weng’an area,and identified 11 lithofacies and 4 types of phosphatic *** differences in lithofacies and grain types between the upper and lower phosphate deposits are observed,indicating that the two sets of phosphate deposits are the products of two distinct phosphogenic *** Lower Phosphorite Bed mainly consists of banded and laminated phosphorites,contains micro-oncoids formed by microbially-mediated precipitation and peloids formed by in-situ chemically oscillating reactions,indicating a biochemical and chemical enrichment of phosphorus to sediments during the Early Ediacaran *** Upper Phosphorite Bed is mainly composed of carbonaceous,massive,and stromatolitic phosphorites,contains bioclasts(phosphatized spheroidal fossils),and intraclasts formed by hydrodynamic agitation,suggesting that the major accesses of phosphorus to sediments were the remineralization of organic *** of the two economic phosphorite beds was controlled by two sea-level *** differences have also been documented in contemporaneous phosphate-bearing successions in Brazil and Mangolia,indicating a significant shift in global phosphogenic mechanism during the early and middle Ediacaran,which may be due to the changes in redox conditions in seawater,associated with the Neoproterozoic Oxygenation *** regional active P-cycle processes could produce more free oxygen,which may have contributed to the up
