Radiolarian and Planktic Foraminifera Biostratigraphy of the Early Albian Organic Rich Beds of Fahdene Formation,Northern Tunisia

The lower part of Fahdene Formation outcropping in northeastern Tunisia is repre- sented by pelagic sequences and characterized by an important siliciclastic fraction that includes ra- diolarian and organic-rich beds of Allam Member. Litho-biostratigraphic analysis based on planktic foraminifera and radiolaria shows that deposition of organic-rich beds of Allam Member is confined to the Microhedbergella rischi Zone through the lower part of Ticinella primula Zone. Age diagnostic radiolaria recovered from these beds has been identified to constrain a direct age of black shale depo- sition. The assemblages can be correlated with the radiolarian biochronozone U.A.10-11 indicating an Early Albian to early Middle Albian in age. Radiolarian assemblages composed of species characteris- tic of U.A.10 biochronozone （A. montisserei, D. gracilis） are associated with radiolarian taxa belonging to Costata Zone （U.A.9 Pseudoeucyrtis hanni and Thanarla pseudodecora）, which can be correlated with Dercourt Member in the Ionian Zone and Paquier level of the Vocontian Basin （southeast of France）. Biostratigraphic and abundance curves analysis has demonstrated significant diversification of cryptocephalic Nassellaria and Archaeodictyomitrae, probably adapted to eutrophic conditions that characterized the Aptian-Albian transition. Ecological conditions may have governed the stratigraphic range of many cosmopolitan taxa （i.e., Pseudodictyomitrae lodogaensis） compared with stratigraphic distributions schemes reported from other domains. The timing of black shales deposition was dia- chronic due to local geodynamic conditions and upwelling currents distribution. The Allam black shales are correlative with the oceanic anoxic event OAElb which is characterized by the widespread of supraregionnally organic-rich beds in the Mediterranean Tethys basins across the Aptian-Albian transition.

Highly efficient power amplifiers(PAs)and associated linearization techniques have been developed to accommodate the explosive growth in the data transmission rate and application of massive multiple input multiple output(mMIMO)*** this paper,energy-efficient integrated Doherty PA monolithic microwave integrated circuits(MMICs)and linearization techniques are reviewed for both the sub-6 GHz and millimeter-wave(mm-Wave)fifth-generation(5G)mMIMO systems;different semiconductor processes and architectures are compared and *** the 5G protocols have not yet been finalized and PA specifications for mMIMO are still under consideration,it is worth investigating novel design methods to further improve their efficiency and linearity *** predistortion techniques need to evolve to be adapted in mMIMO systems,and some creative linearity enhancement techniques are needed to simultaneously improve the compensation accuracy and reduce the power consumption.

Microbiological parameters and maturity degree during composting of Posidonia oceanica residues mixed with vegetable wastes in semi-arid pedo-climatic condition

The aim of this study was to characterize the biological stability and maturity degree of compost during a controlled pile-composting trial of mixed vegetable residues （VR） collected from markets of Tunis City with residues of Posidonia oceanica （PoR）, collected from Tunis beaches. The accumulation in beaches （as well as their removal） constitutes a serious environmental problem in all Mediterranean countries particularly in Tunisia. Aerobic-thermophilic composting is the most reasonable way to profit highly-valuable content of organic matter in these wastes for agricultural purposes. The physical, chemical, and biological parameters were monitored during composting over 150 d. The most appropriate parameters were selected to establish the maturity degree. The main result of this research was the deduction of the following maturity criterion：（a） C/N ratio 〈 15; （b） NH4^＋-N 〈 400 mg/kg; （c） CO2-C 〈 2000 mg CO2-C/kg; （d） dehydrogenase activity 〈 1 mg TPF/g dry matter; （e） germination index （GI）〉 80%. These five parameters, considered jointly are indicative of a high maturity degree and thus of a high-quality organic amendment which employed in a rational way, may improve soil fertility and soil quality. The mature compost was relatively rich in N （13.0 g/kg）, P （4.74 g/kg） and MgO （15.80 g/kg）. Thus composting definitively constitutes the most optimal option to exploit these wastes.

Isolation and characterization of facultative mixotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria from constructed wetlands

Autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria （AOB） have been widely studied in constructed wetlands systems, while mixotrophic AOB have been less thoroughly examined. Heterotrophic bacteria were isolated from wastewater and rhizospheres of macrophytes of constructed wetlands, and then cultivated in a mixotrophic medium containing ammonium and acetic acid. A molecular characterization was accomplished using ITS-PCR amplification, and phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene Sequences. Results showed the presence of 35 bacteria, among 400 initially heterotrophic isolates, that were able to remove ammonia. These 35 isolates were classified into 10 genetically different groups based on ITS pattern. Then, a collection of 10 isolates were selected because of their relatively high ammonia removal efficiencies （ARE≥ 80%） and their phylogenetic diversity. In conditions of mixotrophy, these strains were shown to be able to grow （increase of optical density OD660 during incubation with assimilation of nitrogen into cellular biomass） and to oxidize ammonia （important ammonia oxidation efficiencies, AOE between 79% and 87%）. Among these facultative mixotrophic AOB, four isolates were genetically related to Firmicutes （Bacillus and Exiguobacterium）, three isolates were affiliated to Actinobacteria （Arthrobacter） and three other isolates were associated with Proteobacteria （Pseudomonas, Ochrobactrum and Bordetella）.

Separation performance of horizontal and vertical polyethersulfone hollow fiber UF modules

The effect of hollow fiber module positions （ horizontal and vertical） on separation performance for PVA solution by using polyethersulfone （PES） hollow fiber ultrafiltration （UF） membrane with the molecular weight cut-off （MWCO） 30 000 has been discussed. Experimental results illustrated that the suitable operation conditions for PVA solution were as follows： trans-membrane pressure 2.1 bar, solution temperature 75℃ and feed velocity 0.32 m/s. Under these suitable operation conditions, the permeate flux is from 36.8 L/（m^2 ·h·bar） to 42.9 L/（m^2 ·h·bar） for the horizontal module and from 39.8 L/（m^2 ·h·bar） to 66.6 L/（m^2 ·h·bar） for the vertical module. Besides, the Separation performance of PES hollow fiber UF membrane was better by using vertical hollow fiber module than by using horizontal hollow fiber module. When the trans-membrane pressure increased from 1 bar to 2.1 bar, solution temperature from 50 ℃ to 75 ℃, feed solution velocity from 0.16 m/s to 0.32 m/s, the PVA rejection would increase from 95.8% to 99.7%, 95.4 96 to 98.6 %, 95.8 96 to 99.2 96 for horizontal module respectively, and from 98.8 96 to 99.8 %, 98.6 96 to 99.4 96, 98.5 96 to 99.4 96 for vertical module respectively. Therefore, PVA rejection in PES hollow fiber UF process was more than 98.5 96 for vertical module, and it is suitable for PVA recovery from wastewater.

Numerical Simulation for Nonlinear Water Waves Propagating along the Free Surface

The main aim of this work is to introduce the analytical approximate solutions of the water wave problem for a fluid layer of finite depth in the presence of gravity. To achieve this aim, we begun with the derivation of the Korteweg-de Vries equations for solitons by using the method of multiple scale expansion. The proposed problem describes the behavior of the system for free surface between air and water in a nonlinear approach. To solve this problem, we use the well-known analytical method, namely, variational iteration method (VIM). The proposed method is based on the use of Lagrange multipliers for identification of optimal value of a parameter in a functional. The proposed method provides a sequence of functions which may converge to the exact solution of the proposed problem. Finally, we observe that the elevation of the water waves is in form of traveling solitary waves.

Comparison of Mineral Contents in Three Different Tobacco Formulations

We identified and quantified a variety of mineral elements in 18 tobacco samples purchased from a Tunisian market. In total, 25 mineral elements have been measured in cigarettes, water pipe tobacco, and smokeless tobacco using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy following microwave-assisted digestion. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSSTM, version 18.0. The lowest concentrations of all studied elements were observed in water pipe tobacco. Significantly higher concentrations of Al, Fe, Mg, Na, Ca, Cr, and Co were found in smokeless tobacco, while cigarettes brands contained the highest concentrations of K, Mn, Ni, Ba, and Sr. There was no significant difference between the mineral contents of local and foreign cigarettes and conventional and light cigarettes. Our findings demonstrated that local smokeless tobacco appears to be the most hazardous tobacco type. The concentration of minerals in light cigarettes was not significantly different from the concentration in conventional cigarettes.

Wideband wireless transmitters will exhibit strong memory effects which heavily compromise the linearization performance of traditional memoryless predistorters. In this paper, the nonlinear behaviors of a wideband wireless transmitter are analyzed. According to the nonlinearity analysis, a novel memory effect separation based linearization technique is presented to linearize the wideband wireless transmitter. The novel predistorter is constructed with a static memoryless nonlinear block followed by a dynamic nonlinear block with memory. The static memoryless nonlinear block is utilized to pre-compensate the memoryless nonlinearity, whereas the dynamic nonlinear block is deployed to eliminate the memory effects. The validation results, carried out on a transmitter prototype for WCDMA systems, reveal that the proposed predistortion technique outperforms the traditional Hammerstein predistortion linearization scheme in suppressing the memory effects.
