Different measurements of the Hubble constant(H_(0))are not consistent,and a tension between the CMB based methods and cosmic distance ladder based methods has been observed.Measurements from various distance based methods are also inconsistent.To aggravate the problem,the same cosmological probe(TypeⅠa SNe for instance)calibrated through different methods also provides different values of H_(0).We compare various distance ladder based methods through the already available unique data obtained from the Hubble Space Telescope(HST).Our analysis is based on parametric(t-test)as well as non-parametric statistical methods such as the Mann-Whitney u test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test.Our results show that different methods provide different values of H_(0) and the differences are statistically significant.The biases in the calibration would not account for these differences as the data have been taken from a single telescope with a common calibration scheme.The unknown physical effects or issues with the empirical relations of distance measurement from different probes could give rise to these differences.

OBJECTIVE： The present work was undertaken to determine the effects of Amaranthus roxburghianus Nevski. （Amaranthaceae） root alone and in combination with piperine in treating ulcerative colitis （uC） in mice. METHODS： Swiss albino mice were divided into seven groups （n = 6）. Standard group received prednisolone （5 mg/kg, intraperitoneally）. Treatment groups received hydroalcoholic extract of roots of A. roxburghianus （50 and 100 mg/kg, per oral） and a combination of hydroalcoholic extract of roots of A. roxburghianus （50 and 100 mg/kg, per oral） and piperine （5 mg/kg, per oral）. ulcer index, colitis severity, myeloperoxidase （MPO）, malondialdehyde and glutathione were estimated from blood and tissue. Column chromatography of the extract was done and purified fractions were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy （GC-MS）. RESuLTS： Treatment with the combination of hydroalcoholic extract of A. roxburghianus and piperine showed minimal ulceration, hemorrhage, necrosis and leucocyte infiltration by histopathological observation. Acetic acid increased MPO levels in blood and colon tissue to 355 u/mL and 385 u/mg, respectively. The combination of hydroalcoholic extract of A. roxburghianus （100 mg/kg） and piperine （5 mg/kg） significantly decreased MPO in blood and tissue to 182 u/mL and 193 u/mg, respectively （P 〈 0.05）. Similarly, this combination significantly reduced malondialdehyde levels and increased glutathione levels in blood and tissue. Various phytoconstituents were detected by GC-MS. CONCLuSION： The combination of hydroalcoholic extract of A. roxburghianus and piperine is effective in the treatment of uC and the effects are comparable with the standard drug prednisolone. 4H-pyran-4-one, 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl, eugenol and benzene, and 1-（1,5-dimethyl-4-hexenyl）-4-methyl are reported having analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties; they may play a role in the biological activity of A. roxburghianus root.

Injuries to the postnatal skeleton are naturally repaired through successive stepsinvolving specific cell types in a process collectively termed “bone regeneration”.Although complex, bone regeneration occurs through a series of well-orchestratedstages wherein endogenous bone stem cells play a central role. In most situations,bone regeneration is successful;however, there are instances when it fails andcreates non-healing injuries or fracture nonunion requiring surgical or therapeuticinterventions. Transplantation of adult or mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) definedby the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT) as CD105+-CD90+CD73+CD45-CD34-CD14orCD11b-CD79αorCD19-HLA-DR- is beinginvestigated as an attractive therapy for bone regeneration throughout the world.MSCs isolated from adipose tissue, adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), aregaining increasing attention since this is the most abundant source of adult stemcells and the isolation process for ADSCs is straightforward. Currently, there isnot a single Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved ADSCs product forbone regeneration. Although the safety of ADSCs is established from their usagein numerous clinical trials, the bone-forming potential of ADSCs and MSCs, ingeneral, is highly controversial. Growing evidence suggests that the ISCT definedphenotype may not represent bona fide osteoprogenitors. Transplantation of bothADSCs and the CD105- sub-population of ADSCs has been reported to induce bone regeneration. Most notably, cells expressing other markers such as CD146,AlphaV, CD200, PDPN, CD164, CXCR4, and PDGFRα have been shown torepresent osteogenic sub-population within ADSCs. Amongst other strategies toimprove the bone-forming ability of ADSCs, modulation of VEGF, TGF-β1 andBMP signaling pathways of ADSCs has shown promising results. The u.S.
