Filtration tests were conducted on a granular bed filter with layered drawers filled with corundum particles with sizes between either 1 mm and 1.5 mm or 2 mm and 3 mm or with quartz sand particles with sizes between 0.125 mm and 1.5 *** velocity,filter particle thickness,and filter particle size were all found to influence the filtration efficiency and the pressure drop of both the fixed granular bed and the layered-drawer granular *** strata with different thickness ratios also strongly influenced the filtration efficiency and pressure *** a granular bed with two sizes of filter particles,the coarse granules in the upper layer capture dust with large particle sizes,while the fine granules in the lower layer capture dust with smaller particle sizes that passes through the filter cake and upper *** operating conditions were determined at which the filtration efficiency was found to be 99.42%with a bed pressure drop of 320 Pa.

The working principle of a controllable on-demand heating system based on off-peak electricity energy storage(COHSBOEES) is as follows: the cheap off-peak electricity energy is converted into heat energy for storage in the evening, and the heat energy can be extracted on demand for heating during daytime peak or flat electricity periods. This technology can promote the smooth operation of the power grid, solve the problem of peak regulation for the electrical network, and promote renewable energy consumption. Based on the controllable on-demand heating strategy, a COHSBOEES for a heating area of 1000 m^2 was designed and built. Variations in the energy consumption and operating cost of the COHSBOEES in different heating situations were analyzed. The results showed that, off-peak electricity energy storage for heating was energy saving in comparison with central heating when the heating intensity of the COHSBOEES was 70 W/m^2 and the on-demand heating rate was less than 73.0%, and the off-peak electricity energy storage for heating was energy saving at any on-demand heating rate when the COHSBOEES had a heating intensity of 50 W/m^2. After the COHSBOEES has been running for three complete heating seasons, when the off-peak electricity price was 0.25 yuan/kW·h, the energy consumption cost of the COHSBOEES can be saved by 77.6% in comparison with central heating.

The effects of the filtering granule particle size and filtration superficial velocity on the dust particle size distribution in different layers of a granular bed system are discussed herein.A multilayer drawer granular bed filtration system was designed for these experiments based on filtering fly ash from a power *** a 1-h experiment,47.8% of dust particles smaller than 2.5μm,63.7% of dust particles smaller than 10μm,and 39.1% of dust particles larger than 10μm were captured by the granular bed(corresponding to initial volume fractions of 6%,19.3%,and 80.7%,respectively).Large dust particles were more easily trapped by the granular bed than small dust *** the size of the filter granules and increasing the superficial velocity of the inlet flue gas were both effective ways to enhance the dust-holding capacity of the granular media throughout the granular bed.

The filtration of mixed dust that included a small number of melted(liquid)particles was studied in an experimental granular bed filter(GBF).Results show that the collection efficiency of dust containing melted particles is higher than that of dust composed of solid particles but the pressure drop from the former is higher than that of the *** collection efficiency and pressure drop increase as the concentration of melted particles increases.A surface sliding GBF exhibits good comprehensive performance when filtering dust,especially dust containing a mix of solid and liquid *** effects of the gas temperature,gas velocity,sliding filter bed thickness,and sliding collector flux on filter performance were also *** on the experimental results,correlations for the collection efficiency and pressure drop for mixed dust are presented.

Thermal energy storage(TES)using phase change materials(PCMs)is a powerful solution to the improvement of energy *** application of Ammonium alum(A-alum,NH4Al(SO_(4))_(2)·12H_(2)O)in the latent thermal energy storage(LTES)systems is hampered due to its high supercooling and low thermal *** this work,modified A-alum(M-PCM)containing different nucleating agents was prepared and further adsorbed in expanded graphite(EG)to obtain composite phase change material(CPCM)to overcome the disadvantages of *** properties,thermal cycle stability,microstructure and chemical compatibility of CPCM were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry,thermal constant analysis,scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared *** cold rewarming phenomenon of CPCM was established and *** showed that the latent heat and melting point of CPCM were 187.22 J/g and 91.54℃,*** supercooling of CPCM decreased by 9.61℃,and thermal conductivity increased by 27 times compared with pure *** storage and release tests indicated that 2 wt%calcium chloride dihydrate(CCD,CaCl_(2)·2H_(2)O)was the optimum nucleating agent for *** result of TG and 30 thermal cycles revealed that CPCM exhibited favorable thermal stability and reliability during the operating *** prepared modified A-alum/EG CPCM has a promising application prospect for LTES.

The development of heat recovery methods for dry granulation processes from blast furnace slag in the iron and steel industry is limited because of the high consumption of granulation energy during these *** determine the factors that influence the diameter of granulated particles,a paraffin test platform for gas quenching granulation was *** influences of air velocity,air flow rate,liquid mass flow rate,and liquid pipe diameter on the final particle size and mass distribution were *** results showed that the final particle size decreased(from 1.07 mm to 0.81 mm) with increasing air velocity(from 28.3 m/s to 113.2 m/s).However,when air velocity was higher than 60 m/s,its influence on particle diameter decreased *** experimental data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics software,which indicated that the effect of air velocity on particle diameter was the most significant,followed by those of air flow and liquid pipe *** effect of liquid mass flow was the least significant.
