Macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity in large steel ingots are key factors restricting the homogenization of large cast and forged parts. Due to the complex mechanisms of their formation, they have always been challenging issues in the research on solidification control of large steel ingots. The purpose of this review is to systematically revisit the research progress on the mechanisms of macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity formation in large steel ingots, focusing on the mechanisms of formation of 'A' type segregation, positive segregation at the top, and negative segregation at the bottom, and their impact on the quality of steel ingots. At the same time, the conditions and influencing factors for the formation of shrinkage porosity are analyzed in detail, and the interaction between macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity during the solidification process of steel ingots is discussed.Based on existing research results and challenges, prospects for future research directions are proposed,emphasizing the development of high-precision numerical simulation techniques and experimental research methods to deeply understand the internal mechanisms of segregation and porosity formation, providing a scientific basis for formulating effective control strategies.

Visual near-infrared imaging equipment has broad applications in various fields such as venipuncture,facial injections,and safety verification due to its noncontact,compact,and portable design.Currently,most studies utilize near-infrared single-wavelength for image acquisition of veins.However,many substances in the skin,including water,protein,and melanin can create significant background noise,which hinders accurate detection.In this paper,we developed a dual-wavelength imaging system with phase-locked denoising technology to acquire vein image.The signals in the effective region are compared by using the absorption valley and peak of hemoglobin at 700nm and 940nm,respectively.The phase-locked denoising algorithm is applied to decrease the noise and interference of complex surroundings from the images.The imaging results of the vein are successfully extracted in complex noise environment.It is demonstrated that the denoising effect on hand veins imaging can be improved with 57.3%by using our dual-wavelength phase-locked denoising technology.Consequently,this work proposes a novel approach for venous imaging with dual-wavelengths and phase-locked denoising algorithm to extract venous imaging results in complex noisy environment better.

The perception of fish locomotion is important for understanding their adaptive behaviors and ethological characteristics.However,the main strategy used for extracting fish attitudes involves the use of a vision-based monitoring system,which is limited in its range of observation and cannot perform tracking for long times.Here,we report the use of a wearable tagging electronic device,referred to as an underwater vest,to capture the surrounding flow field disturbances triggered by swimming or momentary postural changes.All of these goals were achieved by integrating a pair of pseudocapacitive pressure-sensing units and a flexible circuit board.Notably,additional conditions,such as variable hydraulic pressures and minimal changes in fish posture,require high stability and sensitivity of the sensing units.Thus,hybrid hydrogel electrodes were developed through cross-linking MXene with holey-reduced graphene oxide nanosheets and further modification with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide ionic liquids,which increased the interfacial capacitance and long-term interfacial activity of the MXene.Consequently,the sensing unit exhibited ultrahigh sensitivity(S_(max)~136,207 kPa^(−1))in an aquatic environment for 60 days and superior high-pressure resolution(10 Pa)within a wide working range of 1 MPa.Ultimately,an underwater vest integrated with such sensing units clearly distinguished and recorded fish locomotion.We believe that the designed device may open avenues in flow field monitoring and ocean current detection and provide new insights into the development of sensitive underwater tagging.

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs),owing to their much higher energy density compared to the traditional lithium-ion battery,are deemed as one of the most promising candidates for the energy storage system.However,several issues including shuttle effect,lithium dendrites,and volumetric expansion seriously impede the commercial applications of LSBs.One-dimensional carbon materials(1DCMs)have been widely used as the matrix material for LSBs due to their high surface area,superior conductivity,good flexibility,excellent mechanical stability,and functional modifiability.In this review,the recent progress in 1D carbon-based composites as cathode including metal compounds/1DCMs,MOFs/1DCMs,MXenes/1DCMs,and polymers/1DCMs were discussed.Different strategies for polysulfide confinement and analysis of the functions of various components in the composites were summarized detailly.In the end,the current challenges of LSBs were systematically summarized,and the future outlooks were proposed,aiming at providing a comprehensive insight into the design of new host materials for nextgeneration LSBs.

A robust fluorine-containing ceramic cathode for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in solid oxide electrolysis cells

Stro ntium-doped lanthanum ferrite(LSF)is a potential ceramic cathode for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),but its application is limited by insufficient catalytic activity and stability in CO_(2)-containing atmospheres.Herein,a novel strategy is proposed to enhance the electrolytic performance as well as chemical stability,achieved by doping F into the O-site of the perovskite LSF.Doping F does not change the phase structure but reduces the cell volume and improves the chemical stability in a CO_(2)-rich atmosphere.Importantly,F doping favors oxygen vacancy formation,increases oxygen vacancy concentration,and enhances the CO_(2) adsorption capability.Meanwhile,doping with F greatly improves the kinetics of the CO_(2) reduction reaction.For example,kchem increases by 78%from3.49×10^(-4) cm s^(-1) to 6.24×10^(-4) cm s^(-1),and Dchem doubles from 4.68×10^(-5) cm^(2) s^(-1) to 9.45×10^(-5)cm^(2) s^(-1).Consequently,doping F significantly increases the electrochemical performance,such as reducing R_(p) by 52.2%from 0.226Ωcm^(2) to 0.108Ωcm^(2) at 800℃.As a result,the single cell with the Fcontaining cathode exhibits an extremely high current density of 2.58 A cm^(-2) at 800℃and 1.5 V,as well as excellent durability over 200 h for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in SOECs.

Developing user-friendly electrodes for efficiently producing hydrogen from water to substitute non-renewable fossil fuels is one of the challenges in the hydrogen energy field.For the first time,we have prepared self-supporting ultrahigh porosity cobalt foam loaded with NiCoP/NiOOH nanoflowers(NiCoP/CF)via freeze-drying and phosphorization.The as-prepared hierarchical NiCoP/CF electrodes showed superior catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in alkaline media.The one resulted from phosphorization at 350℃(NiCoP/CF-350)only required overpotential of-47,and-126 mV to deliver geometrical current density of-10 mA cm^(-2) and-100 mA cm^(-2),respectively,demonstrating improved catalytic activity than the electrodes prepared using a commercial nickel foam as a support.Moreover,it could retain its superior stability at a current density higher than-500 mA cm^(-2) for 16 h.Such an outstanding performance can be attributed to the ultrahigh porosity of Co foam support,optimal adsorption energies of HER intermediates(H^(*)),facile water dissociation on the NiCoP/NiOOH heterointerfaces,and the assistance of NiOOH facilitating the electrons transfer from the Co foam inside to the NiCoP outside.The work would provide a new strategy for future design of advanced HER electrocatalysts.

The structure of sulfur host materials plays a key role in alleviating the shuttle effect,volume expansion and sluggish redox reaction of lithium–sulfur batteries(LSBs).In this work,the well-designed multichannel carbon fibers decorated by carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and CoS nanoparticles(MCF/CoS/CNT)are synthesized and serve as the flexible sulfur host.The in situ grown CNTs network and embedded CoS enhance the overall conductivity of electrode and facilitate the redox reaction of sulfur-related electrochemistry.Benefitting from these merits,the MCF/CoS/CNT-based cathode exhibits a high reversible capacity of 927 mAh g^(−1) after 180 cycles with a low decay of 0.034%per cycle at 1.0 C.A superb areal capacity of 5.2 mAh cm^(−2) could be obtained under a high sulfur loading of 6.3 mg cm^(−2) and an ultralow electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 6.5μL mg^(−1) after 100 cycles.This work offers a promising approach to the reasonable design of flexible sulfur host for LSBs toward high energy density.

High entropy oxides(HEOs)with ideal element tunability and enticing entropy-driven stability have exhibited unprecedented application potential in electrochemical lithium storage.However,the general control of dimension and morphology remains a major challenge.Here,scalable HEO morphology modulation is implemented through a salt-assisted strategy,which is achieved by regulating the solubility of reactants and the selective adsorption of salt ions on specific crystal planes.The electrochemical properties,lithiation mechanism,and structure evolution of composition-and morphology-dependent HEO anode are examined in detail.More importantly,the potential advantages of HEOs as electrode materials are evaluated from both theoretical and experimental aspects.Benefiting from the high oxygen vacancy concentration,narrow band gap,and structure durability induced by the multi-element synergy,HEO anode delivers desirable reversible capacity and reaction kinetics.In particular,Mg is evidenced to serve as a structural sustainer that significantly inhibits the volume expansion and retains the rock salt lattice.These new perspectives are expected to open a window of opportunity to compositionally/morphologi cally engineer high-performance HEO electrodes.

Unrolling a rain-guided detail recovery network for single-image deraining

Background Owing to the rapid development of deep networks, single-image deraining tasks have progressed significantly. Various architectures have been designed to recursively or directly remove rain, and most rain streaks can be removed using existing deraining methods. However, many of them cause detail loss, resulting in visual artifacts. Method To resolve this issue, we propose a novel unrolling rain-guided detail recovery network(URDRN) for single-image deraining based on the observation that the most degraded areas of a background image tend to be the most rain-corrupted regions. Furthermore, to address the problem that most existing deep-learningbased methods trivialize the observation model and simply learn end-to-end mapping, the proposed URDRN unrolls a single-image deraining task into two subproblems: rain extraction and detail recovery. Result Specifically, first, a context aggregation attention network is introduced to effectively extract rain streaks;thereafter, a rain attention map is generated as an indicator to guide the detail recovery process. For the detail recovery sub-network, with the guidance of the rain attention map, a simple encoder–decoder model is sufficient to recover the lost details.Experiments on several well-known benchmark datasets show that the proposed approach can achieve performance similar to those of other state-of-the-art methods.
