Aqueous potassium-ion batteries(APIBs),recognized as safe and reliable new energy devices,are considered as one of the alternatives to traditional *** MnO_(2),serving as the main cathode,exhibits a lower specific capacity in aqueous electrolytes compared to organic systems and operates through a different reaction *** application of highly conductive graphene may effectively enhance the capacity of APIBs but could complicate the potassium storage *** this study,a MnO_(2) cathode pre-intercalated with K~+ions and grown on graphene(KMO@rGO) was developed using the microwave hydrothermal method for ***@rGO achieved a specific capacity of 90 mA h g^(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g^(-1),maintaining a capacity retention rate of>90% after 5000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).In-situ and exsitu characterization techniques revealed the energy-storage mechanism of KMO@rGO:layered MnO_(2)traps a large amount of "dead" water molecules during K~+ions ***,the introduction of graphene enables these water molecules to escape during K~+ ions insertion at the *** galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and density functional theory confirmed that KMO@rGO has a higher K~+ions migration rate than MnO_(2).Therefore,the capacity of this cathode depends on the interaction between dead water and K~+ions during the energy-storage *** optimal structural alignment between layered MnO_(2) and graphene allows electrons to easily flow into the external *** charge compensation forces numerous low-solvent K~+ions to displace interlayer dead water,enhancing the *** unique reaction mechanism is unprecedented in other aqueous battery studies.

Here we propose a new concept of"molecule aging":with some special treatment,a molecule could be"aged"by losing some unknown tiny particles or pieces from atoms in the molecule,Such"aging"or loss of unknown tiny particles does not change apparently its molecular structure or chemical composition,but some physicochemical properties could be changed *** further confirm such"molecule aging"via a long-term electron attacking to age water(H_(2)O)*** IR spectra show no structural difference between the fresh water and the aged one,while the NMR spectra show that the electron attacking can decrease the size of water *** facts indicate that the electron attacking indeed can"affect"the structure of water molecule slightly but without damaging to its basic molecule *** exploration reveals that the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity of the aged water molecule is lower than the fresh water on the same Pt/C *** density functional theory calculations indicate that the shortened O-H bond in H_(2)O indeed can present lower HER activity,so the observed size decrease of water clusters from NMR probably could be attributed to the shortening of O-H bond in water *** results indicate significantly that the molecule aging can produce materials with new functions for new possible applications.

Cancer of unknown primary(CUP)is a rare disease characterized by metastases in which the primary tumor is of unknown *** cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)tumor microenvironment of CUP is still unknown.A Chinese male was diagnosed with leptomeningeal metastases from CUP(CUP-LM)based on the following medical examination results:partial leptomeningeal enhancement by brain magnetic resonance imaging,few malignant cells of diverse morphology in CSF,and no abnormalities or lymphadenopathy by systemic examination.

In this paper,we consider the Cauchy problem of a multi-dimensional radiating gas model with nonlinear radiative *** a model gives a good approximation to the radiative Euler equations,which are a fundamental system in radiative hydrodynamics with many practical applications in astrophysical and nuclear *** of our main motivations is to attempt to explore how nonlinear radiative inhomogeneity influences the behavior of entropy *** but different phenomena are observed on relaxation *** one hand,the same relaxation limit such as the hyperbolic-hyperbolic type limit is obtained,even for different *** the other hand,different relaxation limits including hyperbolic-hyperbolic type and hyperbolic-parabolic type limits are obtained,even for the same scaling if different conditions are imposed on nonlinear radiative inhomogeneity.

Euler’s First-Order Explicit Method–Peridynamic Differential Operator for Solving Population Balance Equations of the Crystallization Process

Using Euler’s first-order explicit(EE)method and the peridynamic differential operator(PDDO)to discretize the time and internal crystal-size derivatives,respectively,the Euler’s first-order explicit method–peridynamic differential operator(EE–PDDO)was obtained for solving the one-dimensional population balance equation in *** different conditions during crystallization were studied:size-independent growth,sizedependent growth in a batch process,nucleation and size-independent growth,and nucleation and size-dependent growth in a continuous *** high accuracy of the EE–PDDO method was confirmed by comparing it with the numerical results obtained using the second-order upwind and HR-van *** method is characterized by non-oscillation and high accuracy,especially in the discontinuous and sharp crystal size *** stability of the EE–PDDO method,choice of weight function in the PDDO method,and optimal time step are also discussed.

Motivated by geometric Langlands, we initiate a program to study the mirror symmetry between nilpotent orbit closures of a semisimple Lie algebra and those of its Langlands dual. The most interesting case is Bn via Cn. Classically, there is a famous Springer duality between special orbits. Therefore, it is natural to speculate that the mirror symmetry we seek may coincide with Springer duality in the context of special ***, such a naive statement fails. To remedy the situation, we propose a conjecture which asserts the mirror symmetry for certain parabolic/induced covers of special orbits. Then, we prove the conjecture for Richardson orbits and obtain certain partial results in general. In the process, we reveal some very interesting and yet subtle structures of these finite covers, which are related to Lusztig’s canonical quotients of special nilpotent orbits. For example, there is a mysterious asymmetry in the footprint or range of degrees of these finite covers. Finally, we provide two examples to show that the mirror symmetry fails outside the footprint.

*** Tuberculosis(TB),caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis,remains a leading cause of death among infectious diseases *** tuberculosis infections(LTBI)contribute to the global burden of TB *** preventive treatment(TPT)is a key intervention to achieve the End TB Strategy *** World Health Organization recommends LTBI treatment regimens,including 6 or 9 months of once-daily isoniazid(INH,H),4 months of once-daily rifampin(RIF,R),3 months of once-weekly rifapentine(RPT,P)plus INH(3HP),3 months of once-daily RIF plus INH,or 1 month of daily RPT plus INH(1HP).Clinicians and individuals with LTBI may be reluctant to implement TPT due in part to concerns regarding adherence to the long treatment duration and drug toxicity of the currently recommended LTBI treatment ***,better-tolerated,and cost-effective TPT regimens are highly *** is a long-acting rifamycin,and rifamycin-based regimens are now the preferred LTBI treatment because they have similar or better efficacy and higher completion rates due to their shorter *** on our experiences with TPT practice among Chinese people with silicosis,we found that the 3HP regimen was not well tolerated due to an unexpectedly high frequency of adverse events(AEs)(70.4%)and grade 3 or 4 AEs(7.9%),especially the high incidence of flu-like systemic drug reactions(SDRs)(10.8%).

We investigate the incidence algebras arising from one-branch extensions of “rectangles”.There are four different ways to form such extensions, and all four kinds of incidence algebras turn out to be derived equivalent. We provide realizations for all of them as endomorphism algebra of tilting modules or tilting complexes over a Nakayama algebra. Meanwhile, an unexpected derived equivalence between Nakayama algebras N (2r-1, r) and N (2r-1, r+1) has been found. As an application, we obtain the explicit formulas of the Coxeter polynomials for a large family of Nakayama algebras, i.e.,the Nakayama algebras N (n, r) with(n/2)

The determination of catalytically active sites is crucial for the design of efficient and stable catalysts toward desired ***,the complexity of supported noble metal catalysts has led to controversy over the locations of catalytically active sites(e.g.,metal,support,and metal/support interface).Here we develop a structurally controllable catalyst system(Pd/SBA-15)to reveal the catalytic active sites for the selective hydrogenation of ketones to alcohol using acetophenone hydrogenation as model *** investigations demonstrated that unsupported Pd nanocrystals have no catalytic activity for acetophenone ***,oxidized Pd species were catalytically highly active for acetophenone *** catalytic activity decreased with the decreased oxidation state of *** work provides insights into the hydrogenation mechanism of ketones but also other unsaturated compounds containing polar bonds,e.g.,nitrobenzene,N-benzylidene-benzylamine,and carbon dioxide.
