Constructing inbred lines for self-incompatible species and species with long generation times is challenging,making the use of F1 outcross/segregating populations the main strategy for genetic studies of such ***,there is a lack of dedicated algorithms/tools for rapid quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping using the F1 *** this end,we have designed and developed an algorithm/tool called OcBSA specifically for QTL mapping of F1 *** transforms the four-haplotype inheritance problem from the two heterozygous diploid parents of the F1 population into the two-haplotype inheritance problem common in current genetic studies by removing the two haplotypes from the heterozygous parent that do not contribute to phenotype segregation in the F1 *** of OcBSA on 1800 simulated F1 populations demonstrated its advantages over other currently available tools in terms of sensitivity and *** addition,the broad applicability of OcBSA was validated by QTL mapping using seven reported F1 populations of apple,pear,peach,citrus,grape,tea,and *** also used OcBSA to map the QTL for flower color in a newly constructed F1 population of potato generated in this *** OcBSA mapping result was verified by the insertion or deletion markers to be consistent with a previously reported locus harboring the ANTHOCYANIN 2 gene,which regulates potato flower *** together,these results highlight the power and broad utility of OcBSA for QTL mapping using F1 populations and thus a great potential for functional gene mining in outcrossing *** ease of use,we have developed both Windows and linux versions of OcBSA,which are freely available at:https://***/Bioinformaticslab/OcBSA.

Conductive ferroelectric domain walls have attracted increasing research interest in the field of nanoelectronics,and the fabrication technique for such domain walls is *** this study,we investigated in detail the fabrication of conductive domain walls in x-cut congruent thin-film lithium niobate(TFLN)using an electrical-field poling *** ferroelectric domain structures can be controlled through the applied electrical field and applied pulse numbers,and the domain inversion process is related to the conduction characteristics of the domain *** domain structures in TFLN are revealed using confocal second-harmonic microscopy and piezoresponse force *** results provide further directions for the development and application of conductive domain walls in TFLN.

Downward transport of stratospheric air into the troposphere(identified as stratospheric intrusions)could potentially modify the radiation budget and chemical of the Earth's surface *** the highest and largest plateau on earth,the Tibetan Plateau including the Himalayas couples to global climate,and has attracted widespread attention due to rapid warming and cryospheric *** studies recognized strong stratospheric intrusions in the Himalayas but are poorly understood due to limited direct evidences and the complexity of the meteorological dynamics of the third ***^(35)S is a radioactive isotope predominately produced in the lower stratosphere and has been demonstrated as a sensitive chemical tracer to detect stratospherically sourced air mass in the planetary boundary ***,we report 6-month(April–September 2018)observation of^(35)S in atmospheric sulfate aerosols(^(35)SO_(4)^(2-))collected from a remote site in the Himalayas to reveal the stratospheric intrusion phenomenon as well as its potential impacts in this *** the sampling campaign,the^(35)SO_(4)^(2-)concentrations show an average of 1,070±980 atoms/m^(3).In springtime,the average is 1,620±730 atoms/m^(3),significantly higher than the global existing data measured so *** significant enrichments of^(35)SO_(4)^(2-)measured in this study verified the hypothesis that the Himalayas is a global hot spot of stratospheric intrusions,especially during the springtime as a consequence of its unique geology and atmospheric *** combined with the ancillary evidences,e.g.,oxygen-17 anomaly in sulfate and modeling results,we found that the stratospheric intrusions have a profound impact on the surface ozone concentrations over the study region,and potentially have the ability to constrain how the mechanisms of sulfate oxidation are affected by a change in plateau atmospheric properties and *** study provides new observational constraints on stra

Chronic myeloid leukemia(CML)is a myeloproliferative disease characterized by the overproduction of granulocytes,which leads to high white blood cell counts and splenomegaly in *** on clinical symptoms and laboratory findings,CML is classified into three clinical phases,often starting with a chronic phase,progressing to an accelerated phase and ultimately ending in a terminal phase called blast *** crisis phase of CML is clinically similar to an acute leukemia;in particular,B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B-ALL)is a severe form of acute leukemia in blast crisis,and there is no effective therapy for it *** is induced by the BCR-ABL oncogene,whose gene product is a BCR-ABL tyrosine ***,inhibition of BCR-ABL kinase activity by its kinase inhibitor such as imatinib mesylate(Gleevec)is a major therapeutic strategy for ***,the inability of BCR-ABL kinase inhibitors to completely kill leukemia stem cells(LSCs)indicates that these kinase inhibitors are unlikely to cure *** addition,drug resistance due to the development of BCRABL mutations occurs before and during treatment of CML with kinase inhibitors.A critical issue to resolve this problem is to fully understand the biology of LSCs,and to identify key genes that play significant roles in survival and self-renewal of *** this review,we will focus on LSCs in CML by summarizing and discussing available experimental results,including the original studies from our own laboratory.

射电天文图像去卷积是射电天文学中的一项关键数据处理技术,其主要目标是去除天空图像中由天文观测仪器引入的效应,从而复原原始的天空图像.射电望远镜阵列采用稀疏干涉阵列,成像原理与光学望远镜有所不同.如果UV空间中的采样点不足够密集,将会导致在图像重建时无法获得足够高分辨率的信息,传统的射电天文图像重建算法未能根本解决UV空间欠采样的问题.本文基于压缩感知理论框架,并结合射电天文图像稀疏性的先验知识,研究了一种新的射电天文图像去卷积算法,该算法将脏图的去卷积过程转化为一个旨在求解全局最小化的凸优化问题,即基于IUWT-CS的射电干涉图像重建算法.为了评估该算法的重建性能,研究使用了射电天文学仿真软件包OSKAR对SKA1-low射电望远镜阵列进行模拟观测,并对观测得到的点源和扩展射电源进行了去卷积处理.实验结果表明,与HOGBOM-CLEAN,MS-CLEAN和IUWT-FISTA方法相比,IUWT-CS方法显著提高了射电图像的重建质量,实现了更加精细的去噪和复原效果.

2022—2023年，摄影爱好者和中国科学院昆明动物研究所科研人员先后在西藏自治区拍摄和采集到不丹大鼯鼠(Petaurista nobilis)(错那县、亚东县)和李氏小飞鼠(Priapomys leonardi)(巴宜区、墨脱县和错那县)的照片及标本。研究发现不丹大鼯鼠西藏种群形态上与不丹大鼯鼠不丹亚种(Petaurista nobilis singhei Saha, 1975)的描述一致；遗传上与米什米大鼯鼠(Petaurista mishmiensis)构成姊妹群，遗传距离较小(Cyt b:1.85%)。考虑到不丹大鼯鼠和米什米大鼯鼠之间的遗传差异过小，分布区连续且栖息地都为中低海拔的常绿阔叶林，故两者应视为同一物种；又因两者之间的毛色差异稳定存在，可作为不同亚种，根据优先律，使用不丹大鼯鼠Petaurista nobilis(Gray, 1842)做为种名，米什米大鼯鼠降为不丹大鼯鼠米什米亚种(Petaurista nobilis mishmiensis Choudhury, 2009)。李氏小飞鼠西藏种群毛色、头骨和颊齿特征与云南西北部种群一致，但体型较小，且阴茎长度、直径和形状有较大程度的变异；遗传上西藏种群是包含云南西北部种群的并系群，遗传距离较小(12S ribosomal RNA:0.45%～0.91%, 16S ribosomal RNA:0.31%～1.05%)。不丹大鼯鼠为中国兽类新纪录，李氏小飞鼠为西藏自治区兽类新纪录。本研究扩展了不丹大鼯鼠和李氏小飞鼠的分布区，提示应进一步加强喜马拉雅地区兽类的调查与监测研究工作，以发现更多的新物种、新纪录。

Overexpression of galactinol synthase 1 from Solanum commersonii(ScGolS1) confers freezing tolerance in transgenic potato

Potato(Solanum tuberosum L.) is the fourth largest food crop in the world. Low temperatures cause serious damage to potato plants every year, and freezing tolerance has become a hot spot in potato research. Galactinol synthase(GolS) is a key enzyme in the synthesis of raffinose family oligosaccharides(RFOs), and plays an important role in the response of plants to abiotic stress. In this study, the ScGolS1 gene from Solanum commersonii was cloned and introduced into the S. tuberosum cultivars 'Atlantic' and 'Desiree' via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Phenotyping assays showed that overexpression of ScGolS1 could significantly improve freezing tolerance in transgenic potato *** physiological and biochemical experiments showed that the transgenic lines had lower relative conductivity, malondialdehyde content,and 3,3-diaminobenzidine staining and a higher plant survival rate compared with wild type(WT) under cold stress. Moreover, the C-repeat binding factors(CBF1, CBF2 and CBF3), the downstream cold-responsive genes COR413 and COR47, and the ethylene-responsive factor(ERF)transcription factor genes ERF3, ERF4 and ERF6, which function in the ethylene signaling pathway, were all induced by freezing treatment and expressed at higher levels in the ScGolS1 overexpression lines compared with WT. Besides, the expression of some genes such as MIPS, STS and RS from the RFO metabolic pathway was up-regulated under cold stress, resulting in changes in the content of some soluble sugars. This indicated that ScGolS1 overexpression altered the sugar composition and enhanced freezing tolerance in transgenic potato by inducing the ethylene and CBF signaling pathways. These results provided theoretical support and genetic resources for freezing tolerance breeding in potato.
