Ependymal cells line the wall of cerebral ventricles and ensure the unidirectional cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)flow by beating their motile cilia *** ependymal denudation or ciliary dysfunction causes ***,we report that the deficiency of regulator of Gprotein signaling 22(RGS22)results in severe congenital hydrocephalus in both mice and ***,RGS22 is specifically expressed in ependymal cells within the *** conditional knock-out mice,we further demonstrate that the deletion of Rgs22 exclusively in nervous system is sufficient to induce ***,we show that Rgs22 deficiency leads to the ependymal denudation and impaired *** phenomenon can be attributed to the excessive activation of lysophosphatidic acid receptor(LPAR)signaling under Rgs22^(-/-)condition,as the LPAR blockade effectively alleviates hydrocephalus in Rgs22^(-/-)***,our findings unveil a previously unrecognized role of RGS22 in the central nervous system,and present RGS22 as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for hydrocephalus.

The recent discovery of superconductivity in infinite-layer nickelates generates tremendous research endeavors, but the ground state of their parent compounds is still under debate. Here, we report experimental evidence for the dominant role of Kondo scattering in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2thin films. A resistivity minimum associated with logarithmic temperature dependence in both longitudinal and Hall resistivities are observed in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2samples before the superconducting transition. At lower temperatures down to 0.04 K, the resistivities become saturated, following the prediction of the Kondo model. A linear scaling behavior σx yAHE～ σx xbetween anomalous Hall conductivity σx yAHEand conductivity σx x is revealed, verifying the dominant Kondo scattering at low temperature. The effect of weak（anti-）localization is found to be secondary. Our experiments can help in clarifying the basic physics in the underdoped Nd1-xSrxNiO2infinite-layer thin films.

Autophagy plays a pivotal role in diverse biological processes,including the maintenance and differentiation of neural stem cells(NSCs).Interestingly,while complete deletion of Fip200 severely impairs NSC maintenance and differentiation,inhibiting canonical autophagy via deletion of core genes,such as Atg5,Atg16l1,and Atg7,or blockade of canonical interactions between FIP200 and ATG13(designated as FIP200-4A mutant or FIP200 KI)does not produce comparable detrimental *** highlights the likely critical involvement of the non-canonical functions of FIP200,the mechanisms of which have remained ***,utilizing genetic mouse models,we demonstrated that FIP200 mediates non-canonical autophagic degradation of p62/sequestome1,primarily via TAX1BP1 in *** deletion of Tax1bp1 in fip200hGFAP conditional knock-in(cKI)mice led to NSC deficiency,resembling the fip200hGFAP conditional knockout(cKO)mouse ***,reintroducing wild-type TAX1BP1 not only restored the maintenance of NSCs derived from tax1bp1-knockout fip200hGFAP cKI mice but also led to a marked reduction in p62 aggregate ***,a TAX1BP1 mutant incapable of binding to FIP200 or NBR1/p62 failed to achieve this ***,conditional deletion of Tax1bp1 in fip200hGFAP cKO mice exacerbated NSC deficiency and p62 aggregate accumulation compared to fip200hGFAP cKO ***,these findings illustrate the essential role of the FIP200-TAX1BP1 axis in mediating the non-canonical autophagic degradation of p62 aggregates towards NSC maintenance and function,presenting novel therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative diseases.

The relationship of HLA-A, -Cw alleles on HIV infection and AIDS disease progression in the Chinese yi ethnic group of Sichuan province were investigated. The genetic polymorphisms of HLA-A, -Cw alleles of 102 unrelated healthy Chinese yi ethnic individuals, 68 HIV-1 infected and 21 HIV positive long-time survivors were typed by PCR-SSP assay. Statistic signifiance was determined by the χ2 test with the SPSS software. No significant differences were observed between the HLA-A, -Cw alleles of the 68 HIV-1 infected and 102 non-infected Chinese yi control individuals. Whereas the prevalence of A*3601,Cw*14(01-03)and Cw*0304 was significantly higher in 21 long time survivors compared with 102 healthy controls with P values of 0.016, 0.016 and 0.000 by χ2 or the Fisher exact test respectively. The result implies that A*3601,Cw*14(01-03) and Cw*0304 may be associated with slow AIDS disease progression in the Chinese yi ethnic group, further studies on this association may yield insight on the pathogenesis of HIV-1 infection.
