Amygdalus pedunculata *** a major species that is widely planted in afforested soils with different textures in the transitional zone between Mu Us Desert and Loess Plateau,***,the responses of *** to increasing intensity of water stress in different textural soils are not ***,we conducted a soil column experiment to evaluate the effects of different textures(sandy and loamy)on water consumption,water use efficiency(WUE),biomass accumulation and ecological adaptability of *** under increasing water stress,i.e.,90%(±5%)FC(field capacity),75%(±5%)FC,60%(±5%)FC,45%(±5%)FC and 30%(±5%)FC in *** grown in the sandy soil with the lowest(30%FC)and highest(90%FC)water contents had respectively 21.3%-37.0%and 4.4%-20.4%less transpiration than those with other water treatments(45%-75%FC).In contrast,*** transpiration in the loamy soil decreased with decreasing water *** magnitude of decrease in transpiration increased with increasing level of water deficit(45%and 30%FC).Mean daily and cumulative transpirations of the plant were significantly lower in the sandy soil than in the loamy soil under good water condition(90%FC),but the reverse was noted under water deficit treatments(45%and 30%FC).Plant height,stem diameter and total biomass initially increased with decreasing water content from 90%to 75%FC and then declined under severe water deficit conditions(45%and 30%FC)in the sandy ***,these plant parameters decreased with decreasing water content in the loamy *** in the sandy soil was 7.8%-12.3%higher than that in the loamy soil,which initially increased with decreasing water content from 90%to 75%FC and then declined under water deficit conditions(45%and 30%FC).The study showed that plant transpiration,biomass production and WUE responded differentially to increasing intensity of water stress in the sandy and loamy *** contrasting responses of *** to water stress in differe

In this work, 2195 Al–Li alloys with various precipitation microstructures were obtained by homogenization treatment followed by air-cooling(AC), discontinuous cooling(DC), and furnace-cooling(FC), and then tested by hot compression at different temperatures. The results show that the flow stresses of all specimens decrease with temperature and the peak stresses of AC, DC and FC specimens decrease in order at the same temperature. For FC samples, coarse pre-precipitates diminish the deformation resistance due to the reduction of solid solution strengthening and precipitation strengthening. Dynamic softening at low temperatures is significantly greater than that at high temperatures, except for the anomalous softening of the FC specimen at 520°C due to stress release by cracks. At 370–420°C, the dynamic softening of the AC specimen is more significant than the other samples, resulting from dynamic precipitation and precipitate coarsening. Furthermore, there is considerable dynamic recrystallization(DRX) in FC samples and not in AC and DC samples, although their precipitates coarsen to similar levels at low temperatures. This suggests that DRX is associated with the particle-stimulated nucleation mechanism by regularly arranged precipitates. The banded or regularly arranged precipitates divide the Al matrix into multiple confined units, hindering dislocations and(sub)grain boundary movement, and thus promoting the development of sub-grains and DRX.

The sluggish reaction kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)has largely lowered the efficiency of electrochemical water *** represents one of the state-of-the-art electrocatalysts for promoting OER especially in acidic ***,it remains a formidable challenge to synthesize high-quality one-dimensional(1D)Ir-based nanostructures for improved electrocatalytic ***,a template-assisted synthesis method is reported wherein 1D porous Ir-Te nanowires(Ir-Te NWs)are synthesized with Te NWs serving as the *** Ir-Te NWs exhibit highly enhanced OER performance compared to commercial IrO_(2) and Ir/*** detail,the overpotentials to reach 10 mA cm^(-2) are 248 and 284 mV in 1 M KOH and 0.5 M H2S04,respectively,much lower than those of commercial *** Ir-Te NWs also show smaller Tafel slopes than commercial IrO_(2) and Ir/C,signifying faster reaction ***,much more durable OER activity can be maintained for Ir-Te NWs with negligible decay during 25 and 20 h stability tests in 1 M KOH and 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),*** analysis indicates that the significantly improved OER performance of Ir-Te NWs could be ascribed to the larger electrochemical surface area and smaller electrical *** significantly,the templated synthesis of Ir-Te NWs can be facilely extended to the fabrication of other metal-Te NWs including Ru-Te,Rh-Te and Pt-Te *** design and synthesis of 1D metal-based NWs in this work provide important inspiration for the synthesis of diversified 1D metallic nanostructures with distinctly enhanced catalytic performance and beyond.

The hydrodynamic characteristics of a rectangular gas-driven inverse liquid-solid fluidized bed(GDFB)using particles of different diameters and densities were investigated in *** gas bubbles cause a liquid upflow in the riser portion,enabling a liquid downflow that causes an inverse fluidization in the downer *** flow regimes(fixed bed regime,initial fluidization regime,complete fluidization regime,and circulating fluidization regime)and three transition gas velocities(initial fluidization gas velocity,minimum fluidization gas velocity,and circulating fluidization gas velocity)were identified via visual observation and by monitoring the variations in the pressure *** axial local bed voidage(e)of the downer first decreases and then increases with the increase of the gas *** the liquid circulation velocity and the average particle velocity inside the downer increase with the increase of the gas velocity in the riser,but decrease with the particle *** empirical formula was proposed to successfully predict the Richardson-Zaki index“n”,and the predicted e obtained from this formula has a±5%relative error when compared with the experimental e.

A cable-driven redundant manipulator has significant potential in confined space applications, such as environmental exploration, equipment monitoring, or maintenance. A traditional design requires 3N driving motors/cables to supply 2N degrees of freedom(DOF) movement *** number of motors is 1.5 times that of the joints’ DOF, increasing the hardware cost and the complexity of the kinematics, dynamics, and control. This study develops a novel redundant space manipulator with decoupled cable-driven joints and segmented linkages. It is a 1680 mm continuum manipulator with eight DOF, consisting of four segmented linkages driven by eight motors/pairs of cables. Each segment has two equivalent DOF, which are realized by four quaternion joints synchronously driven by two linkage cables. The linkage cables of adjacent joints are symmetrically decoupled and offset at 180°. This design allows equal-angle movement of all the joints of each segment. Moreover, each decoupling driving mechanism is designed based on a pulley block composed of two fixed and movable pulleys. The two movable pulleys realize the opposite but equidistant motions of the two driving cables, i.e., pulling and loosening, assuring symmetrical movements of the two driving cables of each segment. Consequently, the equivalent 2N-DOF joints are driven only by 2N motors, significantly reducing the hardware cost and simplifying the mapping relationship between the motor angle/cable length and the joint angle. Furthermore, the bending range of each segment could reach 360°, which is three times that of a traditional design. Finally, a prototype has been developed and experimented with to verify the performance of the proposed mechanism and the corresponding algorithms.
