Polydopamine/Imogolite Nanotubes(PDA/INTs)Interlayer Modulated Thin Film Composite Forward Osmosis Membrane for Minimizing Internal Concentration Polarization

Forward osmosis(FO)as an energy-saving membrane process has attracted much attention in food concentration,water treatment,and desalination.Thin film composite(TFC)membrane is the most popular FO membrane,but it suffers from the internal concentration polarization(ICP),which significantly limits the water flux and FO efficiency.In this report,we demonstrate a novel and high-performing thin film nanocomposite(TFN)membrane that employs a hydrophilic interlayer composed of imogolite nanotubes(INTs)and polydopamine(PDA).The INTs can be adhered to the porous substrate by the self-polymerization of PDA,and the as-prepared PDA/INTs interlayer displays a nanostructured network with outstanding hydrophilicity.The detailed investigation was conducted to understand the relationship between the structure and property of the PDA/INTs interlayer and the morphology and performance of the TFN membrane.The TFN membrane with the PDA/INTs interlayer performs a thinner and smoother polyamide selective layer.Correspondingly,the TFN membrane shows a water flux of 18.38 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1),which is 2.18 times of the pristine TFC membrane.Moreover,the TFN membrane has a minimized structural parameter(577μm),almost a half of that of the pristine one(949μm).It reveals that the ICP effect of TFC membrane can be effectively alleviated by using a hydrophilic PDA/INTs interlayer.This TFN membrane with a satisfactory water permeability is promising in terms of future applications.

Phase transition is common during (de)-intercalating layered sodium oxides, which directly affects the structural stability and electrochemical performance. However, the artificial control of phase transition to achieve advanced sodium-ion batteries is lacking, since the remarkably little is known about the influencing factor relative to the sliding process of transition-metal slabs upon sodium release and uptake of layered oxides. Herein, we for the first time demonstrate the manipulation of oxygen vacancy concentrations in multinary metallic oxides has a significant impact on the reversibility of phase transition, thereby determining the sodium storage performance of cathode materials. Results show that abundant oxygen vacancies intrigue the return of the already slide transition-metal slabs between O_(3) and P_(3) phase transition, in contrast to the few oxygen vacancies and resulted irreversibility. Additionally, the abundant oxygen vacancies enhance the electronic and ionic conductivity of the Na0.9Ni0.3Co0.15Mn0.05Ti0.5O2 electrode, delivering the high initial Coulombic efficiency of 97.1%, large reversible capacity of 112.7 mAh·g−1, superior rate capability upon 100 C and splendid cycling performance over 1,000 cycles. Our findings open up new horizons for artificially manipulating the structural evolution and electrochemical process of layered cathodes, and pave a way in designing advanced sodium-ion batteries.

Probing the interseismic locking state of the Xianshuihe fault based on a viscoelastic deformation model

The interseismic locking state of tectonic faults is essential for regional seismic hazard assessments.However,it is challenging to obtain this parameter reliably due to the weak deformation and complex model configurations.To better probe the fault locking state,more reliable physical models and well-covered observations are required.Here we investigate the locking state of the Xianshuihe fault based on a new-developed viscoelastic deformation model.Meanwhile,we combine GPS velocities from 13 new near-field stations and existing stations in this region to improve the spatial resolution.Similar to the theoretical predictions,our results indicate that the elastic model will clearly overestimate the fault locking depth and seismic moment accumulation rate,and the fault slip rate inferred from the elastic model is slightly lower than that from the viscoelastic model.Relying on the locking distribution inferred from the viscoelastic model,we identify four potential asperities on the Xianshuihe fault.More importantly,we find a clear spatial correlation between the fault locking distribution and the rupture extent of historical earthquakes,which indicates that the fault locking state may control the rupture extent and thus the magnitude of earthquakes.In addition,our results show that the 2022 M6.8 Luding earthquake only ruptured the south part of a potential asperity,and the accumulated energy in the northern unruptured area is equivalent to an Mw6.9 earthquake,where the seismic hazard deserves special attention.

BACKGROUND Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)has been developed to stage liver fibrosis.However,its diagnostic performance is inconsistent among studies.Therefore,it is worth studying the diagnostic value of various diffusion models for liver fibrosis in one cohort.AIM To evaluate the clinical potential of six diffusion-weighted models in liver fibrosis staging and compare their diagnostic performances.METHODS This prospective study enrolled 59 patients suspected of liver disease and scheduled for liver biopsy and 17 healthy participants.All participants underwent multi-b value DWI.The main DWI-derived parameters included Mono-apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)from mono-exponential DWI,intravoxel incoherent motion model-derived true diffusion coefficient(IVIM-D),diffusion kurtosis imaging-derived apparent diffusivity(DKI-MD),stretched exponential model-derived distributed diffusion coefficient(SEM-DDC),fractional order calculus(FROC)model-derived diffusion coefficient(FROC-D)and FROC model-derived microstructural quantity(FROC-μ),and continuous-time random-walk(CTRW)model-derived anomalous diffusion coefficient(CTRW-D)and CTRW model-derived temporal diffusion heterogeneity index(CTRW-α).The correlations between DWI-derived parameters and fibrosis stages and the parameters’diagnostic efficacy in detecting significant fibrosis(SF)were assessed and compared.RESULTS CTRW-D(r=-0.356),CTRW-α(r=-0.297),DKI-MD(r=-0.297),FROC-D(r=-0.350),FROC-μ(r=-0.321),IVIM-D(r=-0.251),Mono-ADC(r=-0.362),and SEM-DDC(r=-0.263)were significantly correlated with fibrosis stages.The areas under the ROC curves(AUCs)of the combined index of the six models for distinguishing SF(0.697-0.747)were higher than each of the parameters alone(0.524-0.719).The DWI models’ability to detect SF was similar.The combined index of CTRW model parameters had the highest AUC(0.747).CONCLUSION The DWI models were similarly valuable in distinguishing SF in patients with liver disease.The combined index of CTRW parameters had the highest AUC.

Elliptical encirclement control capable of reinforcing performances for UAVs around a dynamic target

Most researches associated with target encircling control are focused on moving along a circular orbit under an ideal environment free from external disturbances.However,elliptical encirclement with a time-varying observation radius,may permit a more flexible and high-efficacy enclosing solution,whilst the non-orthogonal property between axial and tangential speed components,non-ignorable environmental perturbations,and strict assignment requirements empower elliptical encircling control to be more challenging,and the relevant investigations are still open.Following this line,an appointed-time elliptical encircling control rule capable of reinforcing circumnavigation performances is developed to enable Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)to move along a specified elliptical path within a predetermined reaching time.The remarkable merits of the designed strategy are that the relative distance controlling error can be guaranteed to evolve within specified regions with a designer-specified convergence behavior.Meanwhile,wind perturbations can be online counteracted based on an unknown system dynamics estimator(USDE)with only one regulating parameter and high computational efficiency.Lyapunov tool demonstrates that all involved error variables are ultimately limited,and simulations are implemented to confirm the usability of the suggested control algorithm.

Spatial-temporal shifting patterns and in situ conservation of spotted seal(Phoca largha)populations in the Yellow Sea ecoregion

Understanding the habitat shifting pattern is a prerequisite for implementing in situ conservation of migratory species.Spotted seals(Phoca largha)inhabiting the Yellow Sea ecoregion(YSE)comprise a small population with independent genes and represent a charismatic flagship species in this region.However,this population has declined by 80%since the 1940s,and increased support from the countries around the YSE is urgently needed to address the potential local extinction risk.A time-series niche model and life-history weighted systematic conservation planning were designed on the basis of a satellite beacon tracking survey(2010–2020)of the YSE population.The results showed clustering and spreading shifting patterns during the breeding and migratory seasons,respectively.The closed-loop migration route formed in the YSE indicated that this population might be geographically isolated from populations in other breeding areas around the world.The conservation priority area(CPA),with an area of 19632 km^(2)(3.58%of the total YSE area),was the most effective response to the potential in situ risk.However,nearly 80%of the CPA was exposed outside the existing marine protected areas(MPAs).Future establishment of MPAs in China should strategically consider the conservation gap identified herein,and it is recommended for Korea’s closed fishing season to be spatially set in the western Korean Peninsula from May to August.This study also exemplified that the lack of temporal information would lead to the dislocation of niche modeling for migratory species represented by spotted seals.Attention should be paid to protecting small and migratory populations in marine biodiversity conservation planning.

We establish tighter uncertainty relations for arbitrary finite observables via(α,β,γ)weighted Wigner–Yanase–Dyson((α,β,γ)WWYD)skew information.The results are also applicable to the(α,γ)weighted Wigner–Yanase–Dyson((α,γ)WWYD)skew information and the weighted Wigner–Yanase–Dyson(WWYD)skew information.We also present tighter lower bounds for quantum channels and unitary channels via(α,β,γ)modified weighted Wigner–Yanase–Dyson((α,β,γ)MWWYD)skew information.Detailed examples are provided to illustrate the tightness of our uncertainty relations.

Chinese Medicine Combined with Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Improving Myelosuppression in Colorectal Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) combined with adjuvant chemotherapy on myelosuppression for colorectal cancer(CRC) patients using network meta-analysis(NMA). Methods: Literature searches in both international(PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library) and Chinese(China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang Data, China National Knowledge Infrastructure) databases for relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs) were conducted from inception until October 10, 2022. We included RCTs of patients who received CHM combined with chemotherapy, including FOLFOX, XELOX, FOLFIRI, and other relevant regimens in the CHM treatment group. The outcomes included the incidence of myelosuppression, leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia. Two reviewers independently screened the databases, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias and credibility of evidence. RevMan 5.4.1 software and STATA 14.0 were used to perform the NMA. Results: A total of 31 RCTs were included, published from 2008 to 2021 in Chinese. Among these, 2,314 participants comparing the following 9 CHMs were identified: Shengbai Recipe(SBR), Bazhen Decoction(BZD), Jianpi Jiedu Recipe(JJR), Jianpi Recipe(JR), Compound Cantharis Capsule(CCC), Zaofan Pill(ZFP), Guilu Erxian Gel(GL), Buzhong Tiaogan Decoction(BZ), and Qiamagu Capsule(QM). The results of NMA found an indirect comparison. Based on the surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA), the ZFP+ chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of myelosuppression, with an odds ratio(OR) of 0.08 [95% confidence interval(CI): 0.01, 0.76], whereas the GL+ chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia, with an OR of 5.25(95% CI: 2.41, 11.43), 4.66(95% CI: 2.23, 9.72), and 0.27(95% CI: 0.13, 0.54), respectively. Moreover, BZD + chemotherapy could alleviate leukopenia, hemoglobin reduction, and thrombocytopenia(P<0.01). Pairwise comparison showed that there was no difference in the

Local quantum Fisher information and quantum correlation in the mixed-spin Heisenberg XXZ chain

We study the local quantum Fisher information(LQFI)in the mixed-spin Heisenberg XXZ chain.Both the maximal and minimal LQFI are studied and the former is essential to determine the accuracy of the quantum parameter estimation,the latter can be well used to characterize the discord-type quantum correlations.We investigate the effects of the temperature and the anisotropy parameter on the maximal LQFI and thus on the accuracy of the parameter estimation.Then we make use of the minimal LQFI to study the discord-type correlations of different site pairs.Different dimensions of the subsystems cause different values of the minimal LQFI which reflects the asymmetry of the discord-type correlation.In addition,the site pairs at different positions of the spin chains have different minimal LQFI,which reveals the influence of the surrounding spins on the bipartite quantum correlation.Our results show that the LQFI obtained through a simple calculation process provides a convenient way to investigate the discord-type correlation in high-dimensional systems.

In situ regulating intimately connected heterostructure by decomposition of solid solution oxides toward high-efficient water oxidation

Heterogeneous interfaces produced by interdomain interactions on a nanoscale performs a crucial role in boosting the properties of an electrocatalyst toward oxygen evolution reaction（OER） process.Herein,a series of dual-phase electrodes with intimately connected heterointerfaces are prepared by in situ decomposing solid solution oxide of NixCoyFe100-x-yO,which grew on Ni foam massively via an ultrafast combustion approach.Particularly,with high-reaction kinetics caused by the reduction treatment at 450℃,the less electronegative Fe and Co are more oxyphilic than Ni,which facilitated their co-exsolution and formation of CoFe2O4/NiO oxide with enriched oxygen vacancies.Benefiting from the nanoporous framework,heterojunction structure,and oxygen defects,the self-supporting electrodes present rapid charge/mass transmission and provide abundant active sites for OER.The optimized sample（R-SNCF4.5） shows low overpotentials of 226 and 324 mV at 10 and100 mA·cm-2,a small Tafel slope(46.7 mV·dec-1),and excellent stability.The assembled R-SNCF4.5//Pt/C/NF electrolyzer demonstrates continuous electrolysis over 50 h at a current density of 10 mA·cm-2,under 1.51 V.Density functional theory（DFT） calculations verify that the strong electronic modulation plays a critical part in the CoFe2O4/NiO hybrid by lowering the energy barriers for the ratedetermining steps,and Fe sites are the most active OER sites.
